Brett Young Debuts Brand New, Unreleased Song For His Daughter, “Lady”

In honor of his 3-month-old baby girl, Brett Young debuted “Lady” during his sold-out show in New York City show on The Chapters Tour. Young prefaced his performance talking about how incredible his wife was, and the song that followed brought not only the singer-songwriter to tears, but the fans as well. Although the song is of course, for his daughter Presley, it also is a tribute to his wife Taylor.

“You can always run to daddy, you’ll always be my baby, but look at her baby girl and you’ll learn how to be a lady” 

The touching lyrics were accompanied by beautiful pictures of Presley and Taylor on the big screens, only enhancing the moment.

Morgan Wallen, Diplo and Julia Michaels Release “Heartless” Music Video

Heartless

Back in August 2019, Morgan Wallen surprised fans with “Heartless”, an EDM collab with music producer Diplo. After racking up over 80 million streams, the two announced that pop singer-songwriter Julia Michaels would be joining them for a remix and music video.

The country-dance track, originally sung solely by Wallen, remains pretty similar: his vocal performance is intense and soul-crushing; he’s heartbroken that the girl he likes is stringing him along, all while still being catchy.

The remix opens with Wallen singing the words “heartless” as an introduction, and then Michaels opens the first verse. Her soulful, songwriter’s voice glides through the verse and into the chorus where she is joined by Wallen for some crisp harmonies. Wallen sings the rest of the song with Michaels on some backup harmonies, and their voices sound great together, especially on the last chorus.

It’s exciting to see this song take off and to see Wallen gain new fans all around the world. Wallen is currently on his headlining ‘Whiskey Glasses Roadshow’ tour, playing shows all around the country.

Carly Pearce is Smitten In Her New Single, “You Kissed Me First”

Leading up to the release of her self-titled second album on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, Pearce continues with the theme of love with the release of her new single, “You Kissed Me First”. The singer-songwriter wed the love of her life and fellow country star, Michael Ray, last October, and her happiness shines through in her new music!

“You Kissed Me First” gives fans an inside look into the very beginning of their relationship. After all, Pearce has shared with us on social media, it’s exciting to hear more personal bits and pieces of how the relationship began and just today shared that hit songwriter Hillary Lindsey shared the tune with her, saying she wrote it with her in mind. “I’ll never forget sitting on my bus one night and getting a text that HILLARY LINDSEY had sent this song for me to hear because she wrote it with me in mind— the minute I heard it, I knew she had yet again written a moment in my story. I still say @michaelraymusic kissed me first, but I guess only the wine will ever REALLY know 😉💋 “You Kissed Me First” out NOW!”

 

Pearce stays loyal to her fresh, flirty, and authentically country sound that fans love, with a combination of warm yet sassy guitar riffs featured throughout the verses. The country star recalls the beginnings of her relationship in a clever way, describing a cute and flirty blame game between the two.

I know I put on that dress / and painted my lips red / I know I walked in this bar / With a couple of my friends… I know that I smiled back / when you smiled at me

She admits that she may have had something to do with catching Ray’s eye, but ultimately puts all the blame on him for making the move. The instrumentals build in the chorus, leading to the playful punch line:

Then you leaned in / so it ain’t my fault / if I wake up in your t-shirt / just remember you kissed me first

Along with the song’s release, Pearce engaged her fanbase via Twitter, writing “I say @Michaelraymusic kissed me first, but only the wine will ever know.” This quote perfectly sums up the two country singers’ relationship – romance and wine!

Pearce previously released “Heart’s Going Out Of Its Mind”, another track about the singer’s new husband. We’re enjoying her fun-loving sound while singing about how smitten she is and cannot wait to hear the rest of the album!

5 Country Acts That Should Perform at The Super Bowl Halftime Show

There has been very little representation of country music throughout Super Bowl halftime history. Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and The Judds had a joint performance in 1994 and Shania Twain performed with No Doubt and Sting in 2003. As country music becomes more prevalent in mainstream pop-culture, we may see a country act up on stage sometime in the near future. We believe these 5 artists have the potential to create the most memorable halftime performances.

The Super Bowl is the most hyped event of the year and Aldean’s party, hype-up songs were written for moments like this. Tracks such as “Lights Come On”, “My Kinda Party”, “Burnin’ It Down” and his most recent single “We Back” would fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the game. Aldean is a big football fan himself, specifically of the Georgia Bulldogs. In 2013, he played the first-ever show at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium for over 60,000 fans.

Like Aldean, Florida Georgia Line has many feel-good, tailgate tunes that football fans adore. They also have had a lot of success on pop radio with hits such as “Cruise” and “Meant To Be”. They could even bring Nelly and Bebe Rexha and stage with them to cap off an unforgettable performance.

Chesney is no stranger playing to large crowds. The former high-school football star has been selling out the biggest football arenas in the US for over ten years. With more than 30 number one singles, it is hard to predict which songs he would select for this shortened set. We can assure he will sing “The Boys of Fall”, as it’s his ode to this exhausting, yet rewarding sport.

Country fan or not, everyone has to acknowledge the beautiful and breath-taking vocals of Carrie Underwood. If football fans have never heard her music before, they will certainly recognize her from the opening theme on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football”, which she has been singing since 2013. Another artist with cross-over hits, we can expect her to perform songs such as “Blown Away”, “Dirty Laundry”, “Cry Pretty” and everyone’s guilty pleasure song, “Before He Cheats”. A cool collaboration for this show would be if Ludacris joined her on stage for “The Champion”; a track all about persevering to come out on top — very fitting for the big game.

It is astonishing that Garth Brooks has not done a Super Bowl Halftime show yet. Brooks is the world’s best-selling solo act of all-time, ahead of Elvis Presley and only second to The Beatles. If anyone knows how to entertain and rile up an audience, it’s Garth Brooks. Like Chesney, Brooks has been selling-out football arenas since the 1990s and has too many hits to guess what will be on the setlist. We know for sure that the fan-favorite “Friends In Low Places” will cause an uproar from the crowd.

Hot Country Knights Release “Asphalt” and Announce Headlining Tour

The “new” iconic group Hot Country Knights have just announced their One Knight Stand tour that will kick off April 7, 2020, and goes on throughout the month of April. The Hot Country Knights group was started by Dierks Bentley and his band that first started off as a fun joke but turned into a hit.

This is the first headlining tour that the group will have. The 13-city tour will be including stops at major venues as well as historic venues. Along for the tour, they will have support from some of country music’s best new female artists with Hannah Dasher, Tenille Townes, Rachel Wammack and Lainey Wilson splitting the dates.

“The Knights started as a live band playing at a little place called Teasers on ‘Two for Tuesdays,’ and they just couldn’t get enough of us down there in Murfreesboro. We’ve got a little money now, so Barry did some work on the van. We got a few little outstanding legal issues handled so we are free and clear to cross state lines again,” explained lead singer Doug Douglason. “Yeah baby, the Knights are riding again!”

Tickets to the general public will go on sale on Friday, February 2, 2020, at 10:00 am local time. For more information about the tour you can visit: www.hotcountryknights.com.

Along with the tour, the group has also just released a new song “Asphalt” and will be making their first television debut with performing the tune on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Monday at 10:35 pm CT on ABC.

Filmore Takes You Home with New Single “My Place”

Filmore My Place

Our most recent Swag Session artist, Filmore continues to surprise fans with different sides of his personality, releasing songs that showcase his undeniable talent and charm. Today, the singer-songwriter adds “My Place” to his impressive collection of recently released music.

 

The new jam is an upbeat, fun-loving track that holds a special place in Filmore’s heart. In our interview, he shared that the song came to fruition when he moved into a house with a bunch of his friends. The songwriting process began by just naming things around the eclectic house, but what it turned into was a cool, honest, and relatable song.

“You can park on the front long / That grass is a good as gone / Leave it there as long as you wanna stay / My place is your place”

To allow fans to get to know him even more, Filmore shot the music video for the song in the actual house he is describing in the lyrics. The video is cleverly shot like an episode of ‘MTV Cribs,” and has a way of making viewers feel a part of the fun. It’s clear that the singer wants his fans to know the real him, and inviting them into his home is just one way of showing it.

Filmore’s swagger and authenticity shines through in all his music but is especially noticeable in his live shows. We caught the singer’s opening act, when Lauren Alaina’s tour stopped in New York City earlier this week. We were blown away by his raw talent and incredible showmanship. This is only the beginning for Filmore, and we are excited to continue to champion his one of a kind talent.

Ten Things You’ll Notice Once You Learn To Love Yourself

Those of us who are “givers” put everyone else first. In our mind, the demands of friendships, relationships, family and responsibilities seem more important than our own needs. It’s okay to take care of others, but here are ten things you’ll notice once you learn to truly love and care for yourself too.

Learn to Love Yourself

1. You won’t need outside validation. It’s always nice to hear someone else comment on your success, give you some extra comfort or even tell you that you look good. But once you’ve mastered self-love, you’ll be capable of giving yourself the props you need, and the rest is just an added bonus.

2. Lazy days will feel less overwhelming. When you rely on love and acceptance from others, canceled plans or a day without a plan can be uncomfortable. But once you realize that relationships are meant to enhance your worth and not define it, you’ll learn to enjoy the chance to unwind, relax, and reflect on your own.

3. You’ll be able to trust your decisions. When you are confident in yourself you’ll be able to use your past experiences to make hard decisions. Instead of feeling stuck or unsure, you can feel good about your choices and move forward.

4. Your standards for how you should be treated will be higher. When we don’t think very highly of ourselves it sets a low threshold for acceptable behavior. Once you know how amazing you are, you’ll have a much better sense of what you need from others.

5. Other people will be drawn to you. People feed off positive energy, and the new you will be exploding with it. You’ll notice social connections popping up without even trying, and it’s going to feel amazing.

6. Your existing relationships will get stronger. It’s incredible how much more you can give and receive from the people in your life once you’re in touch with your own self-love. Being authentic with others will improve your life both personally and professionally.

7. Disappointments will get easier to stomach. Picking yourself up after a wrong step can feel impossible when you are your own worst critic. Once you’re able to accept your mistakes and learn from them, every door that closes will open another.

8. Love will be easier to give. It sounds cliche, but learning to love yourself makes you infinitely better at loving others.

9. The future won’t be so scary. No one knows exactly what will happen, but when you’re content with who you are, you are unstoppable. And when you do hit a rough patch, you’ll know that success is just around the corner if you just keep going.

10. You can help others love themselves too. Once you learn to put yourself first you can help others do the same. It doesn’t mean you are selfish and it doesn’t mean you can’t be there for the people in your life. But if we all gave ourselves a bit of the love we give to others the world would be a better place.
