William Michael Morgan Covers “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me”

William Michael Morgan’s latest single “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me” is a cover of Mac Davis song from 1972. 

Morgan’s tribute is something refreshing, classic yet has modern vibes. His adaptation is very similar to the original, a bit slower but as catchy as the 1972 version. It will leave you singing “Baby, baby, don’t get hooked on me” for hours.  

It’s a slow-paced tune, with catchy lyrics. The song is about a man who tries to warn a girl that she’s shouldn’t fall for him because he’ll use and leave her. He’s not a guy who wants to get serious he just wants to have fun. That’s why sings to her: “Girl, don’t let your life get tangled up with mine/ Cause I’ll just leave you/ I can’t take no clinging vine/ Baby, baby, don’t get hooked on me”.

Morgan also released a video with a song. It’s just him playing guitar but sometimes simplicity is the best, watch below. 

“Baby, Don’t Get Hooked On Me” is the second single the singer-songwriter has released this year and both showcase his true talent. It’s hard to guess if the singles are the previews of up and coming album or not. It’s been four years since Vinyl was released so fans are certainly awaiting more new music.
