Written by the singer with Cameron Bedell and Jared Scott, “Somebody Like You” is a modern, genre-bending song that celebrates having someone to hold you down. “Somebody Like You” is a celebration of love, no matter if it is a good or bad day. Kennedy shared her own thoughts about the song via social media, honoring her husband and creative director, Kamren Kennedy. “No matter how full life gets, we show up for each other and that’s what somebody like you is about. it’s about having that one person who keeps you rooted, lifts you up, and loves you through it all. he’s my somebody.”
