Tenille Townes’ Stunning Amazon Original Cover of “Stupid Boy”
Amazon Music has been releasing versions of artists hit songs of the past by the upcoming artists of today. This includes Mitchell Tenpenny updated twist on “Just To See You Smile”, Walker Hayes’ “Chattahoochee”, Brandon Lay on “Walkaway Joe”, and now one of our favorite rising ladies, Tenille Townes.
Townes just released her version of Keith Urban’s hit single “Stupid Boy” from 2006 with her own style. Her raw and unshakeable voice hits home during those powerful verses and a strong chorus.
“I love this song so much. Keith Urban, his music and his live show have been so inspiring to me,” she shares in a recent press release. “I’ve always been such a big fan of his, and this song stuck with me from the first time I heard his version.”
Townes’ fans were not the only ones who loved the new song. Urban, rejoiced over her unique version of the track. “THANK YOU!!!!!! I LOOOOVE THIS VERSION!!! Kudos to you,” he wrote on Twitter. Being able to sing an Urban song is no easy task, especially with his intense vocals, but Townes has made it her own. She is one of many new artists on the rise and she’s setting the bar high. Between being apart of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2019, opening for Dierks Bentley’s Burning Man Tour, and soon to be a part of Miranda Lambert’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, Townes is proving to be quite the talent. It was announced yesterday that she was also nominated for a CMT Music Video Award for Breakout Video of the Year for “Somebody’s Daughter”.
