Teddy Robb Shares New Song “Question The Universe” Out Now

Teddy Robb’s new song “Question The Universe,” is out now, April 21st, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

A new season of music from Teddy Robb is officially here. Earlier this year, he shared his new song “Stay Single.” Today, the entertainer is releasing a song called “Question The Universe.”

While Robb often co-writes his own music, “Question The Universe” is a solo-write by Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi. Tursi wrote the song after Robb shared true stories from his love life. Inspired by Robb, Tursi wrote the entire song before the singer made it to the write.

“Give me everything I want, and nothing I can have // Right lover, wrong time // I want to hold her // But somehow she’s leaving in the morning, someone got to her first // Shit like this makes me question the universe // Spent the rest of the week breaking all of the rules // Called her three times a day, no time to play it cool // I had to tell her how I feel // Said I really don’t care who finds out baby // I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but when you know, you know // She just closed her eyes and smiled”

While the song may not promote a typical love story, the relatability of falling for someone who might not be available is as true as it comes. Robb has a pure and incredible tendency to craft songs and vocals that speak to the listener and “Question The Universe” certainly fits the bill.

Teddy Robb Shares Brand New Song “Stay Single”

Teddy Robb shares new song “Stay Single,” out now, February 10th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

It’s official, new music from Teddy Robb is here! The singer and entertainer, one of our personal favorites is following up the release of his song “Pretty Things” with the endearing new track, “Stay Single.”

Written by Robb with Pete Good, James McNair, and Brandon Ratcliff, “Stay Single” is a song all about resisting the desire to get back into a relationship. Usually, after a breakup, it is common to want to ward off all other relationships and simply stay single; however, Robb taps into how difficult that can be when a person piques our interest.

“Got a condo and it’s downtown // Plenty pretty girls runnin’ all around // Got a clean cut, got a clean truck // Damn if I don’t got it all figured out // You come walkin’ in start talkin’ then // I’m fallin’ and baby I’m on fire // You go takin me and breakin’ me // Ya can’t ya see you’re makin’ me a liar // Ohhhhhohhhohoh // When you look at me that way // Ain’t no way I’m gonna stay single”

While the lyrics of the song are simple and relatable, Robb’s vocals are what really up the ante of this song. His vocals are infectious and endearing. Moreover, the tone of his voice elevates the song, making you want to listen to it again and again, and maybe swoon a bit too.

Teddy Robb: ‘Get Away With It’- EP Review

Teddy Robb’s brand new EP, Get Away With It, is out now, February 25th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new music below and check out our full review.

For Monument Recording artist Teddy Robb, the Get Away With It EP is a natural follow up to his 2020 self-titled offering. Featuring the hit “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You,” the debut EP introduced Robb, while the follow-up shows he’s here to stay. Interestingly, there were times during the past two years that Robb wasn’t sure if that was the case.

Completed during the pandemic, the singer-songwriter found himself at a turning point during the making of this record. “Everything was written from a place of reflection,” He says. “The whole EP came together during the pandemic when I spent a lot of time looking back on my life. I was forced to look at my career and say, ‘Do I think that music is a viable option?’ And ‘no’ was just not an acceptable answer.”

“Teddy has worked so hard to raise the bar as a writer and performer.  His work ethic has really blown my mind. He’s the first one in the studio, and the last to leave,” shares Monument Records Co-President Shane McAnally in a statement. ““Whiskey Can’t” is proof of the time and passion he has poured into his craft.”

That track opens the EP in style, setting the stage for a collection that remains true to Robb’s sound, yet shows natural growth. He’s not chasing musical trends here, but honing his country sound. Written by Robb with Kelly Archer, Pete Good, Josh Jenkins, and Brandon Ratcliff, the track is about a woman who gives him a stronger buzz than any drink could. While he knows the buzz of whiskey, this is something different and special.

“’Cause I’ve been three sheets to the wind// But I ain’t never been this drunk// Never had a harder time getting out of bed// Or waking up,” He sings. “I feel something different// When I got you in my hands// There ain’t a better buzz//  Girl, you do what the whiskey can’t.”

Robb is nostalgic on the truck song “1500,” which is far from the typical beers and tailgate track. Instead, it’s an ode to his teenage days spent in a special truck. Written by Robb, Good, Ratcliff, and Dave Turnbull, the idea of a truck song was originally scoffed at by Robb’s co-writers, but it was something the Ohio native believed in. “I said, ‘Look I know there’s a lot of truck songs, but I want to do my take on it.’” Shared Robb in a statement. “The first line we spit out was, ‘I was 16 in a 1500,’ and immediately we were like that’s the song right there.”

On “Get Away With It,” Robb shows his softer, more vulnerable side, wondering how he let a girl break his heart. On the twangy track, he admits that he’s usually the runner in relationships, but this time, the tables have turned.

I’m the one that’s supposed to run, but I didn’t.” He admits. “Now you’re the one that I’m missing// and I’m the one that fell apart// Yeah you’re the one that got away// And stole my heart// but how’d you get away with it?”

“Middle of Nowhere” sees Robb still heartbroken, finding himself in a bar wondering about the one that got away. The dark, moody track throws a clever lyric over heavier instrumentation and guitar than we’re used to from the singer, but it works flawlessly here. He’s trying to move on with a new girl, but admits that he may be in the “middle of the night, middle of a bar, middle of kissing somebody new,” but he’s also in the “middle of nowhere over you.”

The EP concludes with “Cigarettes’ll Kill Ya,” a clever twist on the broken-hearted tracks. It takes a cigarette to remind him of the one who got away, as he sings:

“That secondhand smoke// From the red and black cloves// Same ones we used to burn// When we’d get a little loaded// Up on a Friday, buzzing the night away// Damn, you were one in a million// Now, I’m sitting right here in a missing you haze// Hurts a little more with every drag that she’s taking// Baby I’m dying just to be with you// Yep, cigarettes’ll kill ya”

For Teddy Robb, the Get Away With It EP was born from a place of reflection during the pandemic, and it’s a solid five-song collection that proves the singer-songwriter has a bright future ahead.

Teddy Robb Premieres Brand New Song “Whiskey Can’t”

Teddy Robb’s new song “Whiskey Can’t” is available now, June 25th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

Teddy Robb is a rising artist that we have loved from the very beginning. We have been eagerly awaiting new music from the singer-songwriter. Today, Robb officially released his long-awaited, entrancing new song “Whiskey Can’t.”

Instantly recognizable, Robb has a unique quality and sound to his voice. The new tune is romantic and vulnerable. It displays how it feels to be “drunk on love,” so to speak. Robb shared on his YouTube channel that he wrote this song with Pete Good, Brandon Ratcliff, Kelly Archer, and Josh Jenkins mid-pandemic. The singer even took inspiration from his friend and fellow country artist, Matt Stell’s song “Whiskey Would.”

“You’ve got the whole world spinning // You’ve got my heart racing // I’ve seen a lot of things // but nothing like you baby // Cause I’ve been three sheets to the wind, but I ain’t never been this drunk // Never had a harder time getting out of bed or waking up // I feel something different when I got you in my hands // There ain’t a better buzz, you do what the whiskey can’t”

According to Robb, “Whiskey Can’t” is all about that moment when you are hanging out with your person and it is time to focus on the girl, rather than the drink. The lyrics convey this message perfectly! It is really fun to hear about the singer’s writing process, and how meaningful this song has become. Kudos to Robb on another great track!

Teddy Robb Supports “be kind.” Campaign with Virtual Show

As 2020 came to an end, we joined forces with radio station New York’s Country 94.7 and singer-songwriter Teddy Robb to help provide comfort and warmth to those in need during the holiday season. For each purchase of our ‘be kind.’ beanie, we donated another to homeless shelters in New York City. Learn all about the project and even how our founder’s nephew, Bobby got involved to help us make a difference in the video below. The purchase also gave you access to an exclusive Teddy Robb show.

Wednesday (January 6th) was the special show with Robb and in these crazy times, it was nice to feel a little bit of normalcy with a live show, even if it was virtual on Zoom.

The concert started off with our own Stephanie Wagner and Christina Bosch along with Jesse Addy from New York’s Country 94.7 discussing teaming up for this wonderful cause. During the course of the campaign, we packed and shipped each order and sent several boxes of donated beanies to various homeless shelters in New York. A big shout out to anyone who purchased a beanie and helped complete our goal of donating over 250 beanies!

Robb then joined in and talked about what it meant for him to be a part of such a special campaign. Currently, Robb is promoting his first single to head to country radio, “Heaven On Dirt”. Throughout the entire campaign, the song could be heard on New York’s Country 94.7 while radio hosts reminded listeners of the special ‘be kind.’ initiative.

Getting ready for the set to start, the zoom room was a sea of guests rocking their special ‘be kind.’ pompom beanies. Teddy Robb started out just him and his guitar playing his song, “Me On You”, followed by “Lead Me On”. Robb then teased a brand new song, yet to be released “Whiskey Can’t”. Finishing out the night with his radio single “Heaven On Dirt”, everyone was dancing and singing along in their living rooms as if they were at their favorite concert venue.

One of our favorite parts of these exclusive zoom concerts is that the artist has the chance to really interact with their fans, watching their reaction to new music, shouting them out, and reading and answering questions through the chat. It gave fans a chance to really show their love for Teddy Robb and we loved seeing it!

We can’t thank Teddy Robb enough for teaming up with us and New York’s Country 94.7! Although the show has come and gone, we will keep the campaign running and continue to donate a beanie for each sold through the winter. Grab yours here.
