Sam Barber Releases New Song “Home Tonight” + Announces Next Project

Sam Barber shares brand new song “Home Tonight” in conjunction with the release date for his new EP. Listen to the new track below.

There are many iterations of country music in the genre today. While all the styles have its place, country-folk is having its moment. With artists like Dylan Noah Kahn straddling the line between country-folk and more modern sounds, Sam Barber is a perfect artist to add to that conversation, a budding superstar in his own right. The incredible singer-songwriter shares his brand new song, “Home Tonight” today with the news that his brand new EP, Music for the Soul is slated for release on August 1st.

“Home Tonight” is a thought-provoking song about love and loss. Introspective, emotional, and honest, the new song is like reading a journal entry from Barber’s journal. Time and time again, the rising artist continues to release music that feels relatable, yet incredibly personal and honest.

“If it was us against the world // Well, I’d take a knee to show you what your worth // If it’s been days since I slept // I’d still love you girl, like we’re all that’s left // If I was young, well I’d take the risk // So would you hold me now, until you saw that kid // If it gets late and all is white // All I’d care is if you made it home tonight // And I’m so deep in this ocean now // Girl you’ll haunt me ’til I’m six feet in the ground // You once loved me, but I never can go back // So damn lonely, you were everything I had // But if you’re home tonight // Well I, I’ll be alright”

“Home Tonight” officially kicks off a new era of music for Barber. Make sure to go listen to it ASAP, and stay tuned for the seven-song project coming out next month!

There are many iterations of country music in the genre today. While all the styles have its place, country-folk is having its moment. With artists like Zach Bryan and Noah Kahn straddling the line between country-folk and more modern sounds, Sam Barber is a perfect artist to add to that conversation. The incredible singer-songwriter shares his newest song today called “Man of the Year.”

Written as a solo-write by Barber himself and produced by Ryan Hewitt (Noah Kahan, Cody Jinks) and Joe Becker, the track is a beautiful, yet introspective. The song captures the uncertainty of struggle of life in such a way that is relatable and raw. “Man of the Year” is one of those songs that the listener will continue to see more meaning unfold after each and every listen.

“Is it in my mind or are we all jus sinking // Still fueled by the pain that never left me last season // I’d try to set a fire in your soul but I just don’t have the reasoning // But some day on down the road when you ask what I believe in, I’ll say // You gotta take it as it goes cause it doesn’t get easier dear // It’s all an empty hole and fuck it if I ain’t the man of the year // No matter where you go you’ll always live in fear // No matter what you know there’s no making sense of why we’re here”

“Man of the Year” is Barber’s first song, since his incredible debit album, Restless Mind. Make sure to go listen to it ASAP!
