In an exciting and unprecedented collaboration, country musicians such as Dolly Parton, Jimmie Allen, Toby Keith, Lainey Wilson, and more lend their voices and songs to a reggae-inspired project. Country Goes Reggae was produced by Christian and Frank Berman (The Berman Brothers) and their partner, Ron Oehl. Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts Releases First Solo Project: ‘One On One’

Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts offers the first collection of his solo career, filled with incredible collaborations, breath-taking vocals, and an inspiring message. One on One is available now, May 21st, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

Gary LeVox is not only the frontman for one of the most influential and successful groups in country music history, Rascal Flatts, but he is also one of the most impressive vocalists and has one of the most identifiable voices in all of music. His name quite literally means, “The Voice” and it couldn’t be more deserving.

Founded in 2000 with bandmates Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, Rascal Flatts scored 17 No. 1 singles, earned 40+ award show trophies (making them the most awarded country group of the last decade), and sold over 23 million albums and more than 11 million concert tickets. The group celebrated its farewell with Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts: The Greatest Hits in 2020, along with their hit single “How They Remember You”. After a 20 year career with Rascal Flatts, LeVox is pursuing a solo career and has just released his first solo project: One on One.

One on One combines two of LeVox’s biggest passions – music and faith. LeVox’s debut song “The Distance” embodies that mission, expressing the power of belief which is tailor-made for the COVID-19 era. The song is about resilience and LeVox feels the timing of the song is perfect. He shares that, “‘The Distance’ was the first song written for (his) solo chapter… with the struggles and battles so many have gone through this past year and how they’ve taken over people’s everyday lives, it just felt like the true song of hope we need.” Made for fans of both country and contemporary Christian music, “The Distance” is one of five tracks featured on LeVox’s Christian collection.
On the remaining four tracks, LeVox leaned on help from his ‘congregation’ to explore the power of faith and the calling of a higher power. Contemporary Christian hitmakers MercyMe join LeVox for “A Little Love”, GRAMMY-winning gospel talent Jonathan McReynolds for “Never Forget”, LeVox’s daughter Brittany for “While I Wait”, and country-rap trailblazer BRELAND for “All I See”.
On the collection, LeVox shares: “One On One is my passion project and I have wanted to do this body of work for as long as I can remember. I feel so honored to get to collaborate with such greatness throughout this project. BRELAND is a dream to work and sing with, as is the iconic MercyMe. Jonathon McReynolds, one of the greatest singers of our time and my dear friend, wrote a perfect song for us. And for my daughter Brittany and I to get to sing a song that Tauren Wells helped craft just completed the collection. I couldn’t be prouder of this project, and the songs that we recorded. This is gonna be an amazing new season and I just hope everybody enjoys it as much as we did making”

Rascal Flatts Release: Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts The Greatest Hits

Rascal Flatts are celebrating their milestone twentieth year together with the release of ‘Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts The Greatest Hits’, available now.

Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts The Greatest Hits

Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts The Greatest Hits

As promised, despite their announced retirement, Rascal Flatts has continued to give fans something to remember them by this year. Earlier this year they released their EP How They Remember You, and now the famous trio are gifting fans with a new greatest hits record. Twenty Years of Rascal Flatts – The Greatest Hits is quite literally the album version of a typical Rascal Flatts concert setlist.

The trio featured many of their number one singles harking all the way back to the beginning of their bright career. The record is truly a trip down memory lane, as the record begins with their oldest tunes and ends with their most recent hits.

Songs like “I’m Movin’ On,” “These Days,” and “Bless The Broken Road” have become classic country songs to modern-day country fans. We all have a story about when we first heard these nostalgic tunes. “I’m Movin’ On” is one of their first top ten singles off their debut self-titled record, while “These Days” was their lead single off their sophomore record. It was also their first song to reach the top of the charts.

The group’s third studio album Feels Like Today garnered them a five-time platinum-selling record and arguably made Rascal Flatts a household name. The record boasted number one songs like “Bless The Broken Road” and “Fast Cars and Freedom,” which are both obviously included in the new Greatest Hits record.

If the Feels Like Today record made the band a household name, it was their record Me and My Gang that solidified their rise to super-stardom. “What Hurts The Most,” “Life Is A Highway,” and “Stand” all soared to the top of the charts, and we all continue to sing every word of each of those tracks today. Fan-favorite, “Life Is A Highway” is also a track off this killer record.

It is hard to believe that up until this point, we are only half-way through their astonishing career. Songs like “Take Me There,” “Here Comes Goodbye,” and “Easy” continued to elevate their career. In the latter half of their career, Rascal Flatts members Jay, Gary, and Joe continued to give us hits like “Banjo,” “Come Wake Me Up,” and “Changed,” all songs that we will forever be hearing through our speakers.

Ending their career with ten fully-produced and incredible full-length projects, the men of Rascal Flatts made sure to leave us with even more memorable hits that also round out their new Greatest Hits record. “I Like The Sound Of That” and “Yours If You Want It” will continue to be the songs that are played for generations of country music lovers to come.

Thank you Rascal Flatts for the twenty years of musical mastery! We can only hope that we will get to see the band play all these mega-hits one last time.

NYCS First Impression: Rascal Flatts ‘How They Remember You’ EP

For over twenty years, Rascal Flatts, comprised of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney, have been the soundtrack to our lives. From “Bless the Broken Road” to “I Like the Sound of That,” Rascal Flatts have always been there for us, providing us with jams for our car rides and songs to cry to for the hard times. Now, they are giving fans one last project before they disband, quietly marking their farewell year. The brand new EP, How They Remember You is definitely for the fans.

A seven-song release, the new record is the country trio’s parting gift to fans that have been with them since day one. The EP begins with the title track and current radio single, which seems like the most fitting song to leave fans with. “How They Remember You” is a song about legacy and Rascal Flatts has definitely solidified their legacy in country music. Similarly, the closing track “Through the Years” is literally an ode to the time we have all spent together. Although dressed as a love song, the boy-band inspired track is definitely a thank you to the fans. “It’s better every day, you’ve kissed my tears away / As long as it’s okay, I’ll stay with you / Through the years”

Harkening back to the heyday of “My Wish,” “Looking Back” feels like an old-school Rascal Flatts jam. “Looking back is all that I look forward to,” is both a heartbreaking line, but also so poetic to have loved something so much that you’ll always wish to return to it. This song can, once again, be attributed to love, but also to the legacy the band has built over the years.

On the other hand, Rascal Flatts leans into their new-found pop-country style with songs like “Warmer” and “Feel It In the Morning.” Both songs showcase the bands’ evolution and their ability to transcend generations as well as genres.  Of course, they wouldn’t be Rascal Flatts without including an anthemic, funky song on their record. “Sip Away” is the drinking song that we know would be great for a live setlist.

Yeah man that’s sounds just right / So grab a little sunshine, a corona, and a lime and mix it all up together / Get a tan while you can / And forget about your plans / Cause the summer won’t last forever”

Arguably one of the best off the record, co-written by Kelly Archer, Aj Babcock, Pete Good, and up and coming singer-songwriter Brandon Ratcliff, “Quick, Fast, In a Hurry” is a standout on the record. The song features songstress Rachel Wammack, and it is safe to say that her performance is impeccable. The song depicts the back and forth nature of on-again-off-again lovers, who are on the outs but still love each other. Wammack and LeVox, although unexpected, makes the perfect vocal pair!

Quick, fast, in a hurry / Won’t keep you waiting for me / I can be there in 30 / Don’t worry if the lines get blurry”

Let’s hope the band rekindles their desire to play on stage one last time, and decide to reschedule their recently canceled Farewell Tour! Until then, thank you Rascal Flatts for all the stories all the memories, and all the music!

Rascal Flatts Discuss Their Legacy in “How They Remember You”

Rascal Flatts How They Remember You

Music is starting to roll back into its original format and country music is as strong as it can be for hit-makers Rascal Flatts starting the week off right with their latest single hitting No. 24 on the Billboard charts.

Earlier this week the trio performed on TODAY’s Citi Music Series playing their hit “I Won’t Let Go” and their latest single “How They Remember You.” Co-written by Marc Beeson, Josh Osborne, and Allen Shamblin, the track depicts the legacy that one is able to leave. The opportunity to be something and leave something bigger than this world.

“Did you stand or did you fall? Build a bridge or build a wall? Hide your love or give it all? // What did you do? // What did you do? // Did you make ‘em laugh or make ‘em cry? // Did you quit or did you try? // Live your dreams or let ‘em die? // What did you choose? What did you choose? When it all comes down, it ain’t if, how they remember you.”

“How They Remember You” is the first single from their upcoming EP How They Remember You coming out on July 31st via Big Machine Records. The project will contain six unreleased songs and a cover of Kenny Rogers’ “Through The Years.” The EP shares tasteful offerings from songwriters Jesse Frasure, Thomas Rhett, Ashley Gorley, Rhett Akins, Josh Osborne, and more.

“We are so excited about our new EP and single, ‘How They Remember You,’” shared Gary LeVox in a press release. “It’s a song about what kind of impact and legacy you want to leave in life. It’s a fantastic song to celebrate 20 years of making music together. It’s an incredible message with a melody to match and we hope the fans love it, and that whatever legacy we all leave behind, it’s beautifully impactful.”

Earlier this year, the trio announced their decision to take a hiatus after celebrating their 20th anniversary. Unfortunately, their farewell tour was canceled due to the pandemic.

NY/NJ Country Fans – Don’t Miss Rascal Flatts on their 2020 Farewell Tour

Access presale tickets Thursday, 2/20 at 10AM
PRESALE CODE: SWAG

Summer concert season is right around the corner and things are certainly heating up for New York/New Jersey country music fans. Rascal Flatts announced after 20 incredible years, the hitmaking trio are ending this amazing run with a farewell tour. The Farewell Life Is A Highway Tour will kick off June 11th and make its way across the country, paying a wonderful tribute to the beloved trio, their body of work over the past two decades and to the fans who have supported them along the way.

“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places, and gifts we would encounter,” said Gary LeVox in a press release. “The greatest feeling ever is being told that our music has been the soundtrack to their lives. What greater gift can an artist receive than to be told ‘I got married to “Bless The Broken Road,”’ or ‘We played “My Wish” at my graduation.’ That ‘“What Hurts The Most” is the song that made me love country music for the first time,’ or ‘“I’m Movin’ On” helped me get sober’ or even that ‘“Changed” made me call my family again after not talking to them for years.’ That’s why we create music and the reason we can’t wait to celebrate this incredible 20-year journey all year, with our fans who we love dearly. I don’t know what God has in store for the future, but I am excited to see what he has planned!”

The tour hits the New York/ New Jersey area on September 17th at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre and on September 19th at PNC Bank Arts Center with direct support from Chris Lane and an opening set by Caylee Hammack.

Tickets officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 21st, but NYCountry Swag followers can grab theirs early on Thursday, February 20th at 10AM with presale code: SWAG. Click here to grab yours.

Tickets officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 21st, but NYCountry Swag followers can grab theirs early on Thursday, February 20th at 10AM with presale code: SWAG. Click here to grab yours.

Everybody knows songs like “Bless The Broken Road”, “Life is a Highway”, “What Hurts The Most”, “I Like The Sound Of That”. “My Wish” or “Fast Cars and Freedom” but did you a little less known songs like “Compass”, “A Little Home” or “Cool Thing”. If not be sure to check our list below. Some songs are a little more romantic some are a little more country and some are just simply great.

10. “Oklahoma-Texas Line” – Fast rhythm piece, happy and joyful kinda love song which makes your foot tap. The world needs more love tunes like this one. “Got an old dog, it don’t like me much/ That thing starts to bark his head off every time we touch”

9. “I Know You Won’t” – A cover of Carrie Underwood’s song, this one is about people who are resistant to change, they don’t want to change themselves for the better. Yes, ladies, men are not the only ones who don’t want to reform. You can try to teach old dog new tricks but you’ll probably fail if the other side doesn’t really crave it. “You say you’ll call, but I know you/ You say you’re coming home, but I know you/ You say you’ve changed, but I know you won’t”

8. “Love What You’ve Done With The Place” – Love is not defined by grand gestures but by little things that make you feel important and comfortable. Things that remind you of the person you care for are also an expression of love. “Leave the towel on the shower and that empty shampoo bottle/ That makeup on the counter/ You can take, but you ain’t gotta/ Just don’t leave me without leaving a trace/ Cause I love what you’ve done/ yeah, I love what you’ve done with the place”

7. “I Have Never Been In Memphis” – You never know when little cupid with an arrow will hit you. Love will make you travel to new places and experience new things. “I have never been to Memphis/ But if You’re there/ I will pack my bags, and go/ Oh even though it never rains here/ And the sun is always shining\ I have never met a girl like you”

6. “Night Of Our Lives” – Moments that make us grin, make us reminisce. Times when we were young and wild. Good old days. This lively tune definitely will bring you back some good memories from the past. “My little blue-eyed blue jean girl/ We took that Chevy for w whirl/ Innocence and butterflies/ We left them both behind”

5. “A Little Home” – Everyone needs a home. Sometimes when you’re sad or feel down all you have to do is call parents because they love you unconditionally and they’ll always try to cheer you up. “Sometimes you just need a little home/ Some “Hey mom and dad what is going on?/ I am just checking in? No, there is nothing wrong”/ Sometimes you just need a little home”

4. “Summer Young” – Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and here’s another lively and positive love song for you. The tune that will bring you back happy memories from your past when you were summer young. “I stood behind you while you swayed and looked down/ At your pretty face, thought “Man I’m falling hard for her”/ Yeah, we get those moments now and then/ The kind you pray that will never end/ That’s exactly where we were”

3. “Cool Thing” – Sometimes you find love when you least expect it. Single second changes everything. Is this song about just that. “She didn’t come there lookin’ for love/ And the cool thing was/ Neither did I”

2. “Ellsworth” – It’s about til death due us apart, never forgotten love. Amazing story about love only grandparents can experience – a long-lasting one, the most beautiful kind of love. “A front porch light and a blue DeSoto/ Couple of straws and a coca-cola/ You can see it all gong down/ A handsome boy in army green/ A tear on his face, down on a knee/ Shaky voice, a diamond ring/ She’ll put you in that town/ Tomorrow she won’t remember what she did today/ But just ask her about Ellsworth, Kansas, 1948”

1. “Compass” – Creme de la creme of this list. One of the most beautiful, heart-melting country songs you’ll ever hear. Compass, lighthouse, anchor that’s how true love can be described in one word. Rascal Flatts will explain to you what True Love is. “When the night is falling/ So hard upon you/ And the world is aiming/ Heavy on your heart/ When your soul is stranded/ And you’re barely standing/ I will hold you, shield you, show you”

20 years is a long period of time. We should be glad that we had a chance to enjoy their music for quite some time. Maybe in a few years, they’ll reunite and let the fans savor new songs. Time will tell, but, for now, relish in their timeless tracks.

Announced earlier today, after 20 incredible years, Joe Don, Jay, and Gary, Rascal Flatts are ending this amazing run with a farewell tour. The Farwell Life Is A Highway Tour will kick off June 11th and make its way across the country, paying a wonderful tribute to the beloved trio, their body of work over the past two decades and to the fans who have supported them along the way.

“When we started out 20 years ago, we could not imagine all of the people, places, and gifts we would encounter,” said Gary LeVox in a press release. “The greatest feeling ever is being told that our music has been the soundtrack to their lives. What greater gift can an artist receive than to be told ‘I got married to “Bless The Broken Road,”’ or ‘We played “My Wish” at my graduation.’ That ‘“What Hurts The Most” is the song that made me love country music for the first time,’ or ‘“I’m Movin’ On” helped me get sober’ or even that ‘“Changed” made me call my family again after not talking to them for years.’ That’s why we create music and the reason we can’t wait to celebrate this incredible 20 year journey all year, with our fans who we love dearly. I don’t know what God has in store for the future, but I am excited to see what he has planned!”

The trio also announced that along the way they will have several opening acts on select dates including Chris Lane, Chase Rice, Avenue Beat, Caylee Hammack, King Calaway, Matt Stell, and Rachel Wammack.

Rascal Flatts Perform “Back To Life” On Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Rascal Flatts Jimmy Kimmel Live

Big Machine Records supergroup, Rascal Flatts are showing no signs of slowing down. After headlining Taste of Country music festival back in June and bringing their ‘Summer Playlist Tour’ to PNC Banks Arts Center in New Jersey in the same week, Rascal Flatts is proving that they’re a pillar in the industry. To celebrate and promote their current Top 20 hit, “Back To Life” the men performed on the outdoor stage at Jimmy Kimmel LIVE last night for an incredible performance in Los Angeles.

Record in hand, host Jimmy Kimmel welcomed the superstar vocal group to the stage, as part of the impressive summer concert series. “Here with the song “Back To Life” Rascal Flatts,” exclaimed Kimmel as the crowd erupted into cheers and applause. The trio performed in front of a packed out group of fans with a moving sunset background to add to the ambiance of the love song. As always, the group delivered unmatched vocals and harmonies, as well as, the unique style that they have cultivated over the last decade.

We are hopeful that “Back To Life” will become Rascal Flatts 18th number one song before the year is up! Check out their epic performance of the tune below.

In an unaired encore performance, the trio had the audience dancing and singing along to their song “I Like Sound of That.” The 2016 track is one of their many number one singles. The lead singer encouraged the audience to “throw your hands up in the air!” and they obliged without hesitation. Equally as impressive, the supergroup sure know how to hit their sweet spot every time!

Rascal Flatts will continue to play shows on their Summer Playlist Tour, which is stacked with an impressive group of openers on select dates. For more information, head to rascalflatts.com.
