King Calaway Announce Album Details & Release “Driver’s Seat”

king calaway drivers seat

I don’t think any other band has come on the scene as hot as King Calaway has this year. Their first show in front of fans was filled by none other than NYCountry Swag at Bowery Electric. These six guys with insane amounts of personality, zeal, and energy has captured the hearts of people across America. Their music has so much fun built into it all, with each band member shining through. Their new single “Driver’s Seat” follows suit, and doesn’t disappoint. This song has the same fun and luscious beat that emanates from the rest of the songs on their EP, with an added touch of the serenity that comes with driving down the road. A guitar solo, seamless harmonies, and an all out jam, this is the song you listen to when taking a road trip, just like the one mentioned in the song.

“So tell me where you wanna go/ And even if we’re lost, we can keep driving until we get back home”

The band is starting to find their own unique sound, with hints of country, a little bit boy band, and a bit of an 80’s rock song. They’re excited to announce their album, Rivers, on October 4th, with several of the songs we’ve already come to love. Singer and guitarist Chad Michael Jervis says in a recent press release, “Everyone who worked on this album shared a similar vision of creating an authentic, original sound while spreading a message of positivity through the lyrics and melodies.” They’re making their debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden on October 8th, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with next.

King Calaway Perform An Inspiring Cover of “Let It Be”

This morning our favorite country boy band, King Calaway performed a stirring rendition of The Beatles’ anthem “Let It Be” in honor of the dark times facing our world after three mass shootings in the past week. The legendary song was written in the 1970s by Paul McCartney and he says it was inspired by a dream he had about his mother.

Nearly five decades later, the poignancy of “Let It Be” remains the same as the six members of King Calaway strip down the song with two guitars and their incredible harmonies on The Ty Bentli Show. The Cumulus Media morning show is syndicated exclusively by Westwood One and can be heard in markets across the U.S and U.K..

As the members trade off taking the lead on each verse, the band as a whole shine on the chorus when their tranquil voices soar over the tender lyrics. Watch the full video above. For more about King Calaway check out our very first event with the band from back in January here and take a listen to their debut self-titled EP.

King Calaway Releases “Seven Bridges Road” Featuring Ricky Skaggs

King Calaway Ricky Skaggs

Last month, our favorite country boy band, King Calaway joined forces with country music hall of fame member, Ricky Skaggs on none other than the Grand Ole Opry stage to sing an epic rendition of The Eagles classic “Seven Bridges Road.” Today they dropped a live recorded version of the song across all streaming platforms, marking their first new track, since the release of their stripped-down version of their debut single “World For Two” and their original track, “No Matter What.”

After being called ‘The Eagles Meets One Direction’ by Billboard, it is only fitting that the group sings an Eagles jam. The cover is a refreshing take on the classic rock song. The boys of King Calaway give the track new life, adding a bluegrass-inspired vibe to the song. Just like on their debut self-titled EP, King Calaway truly shines with their heavenly harmonies and unique musical arrangements. Each member of the group plays multiple instruments, and they all sing! On “Seven Bridges Road,” their drummer, Chris Deaton even has a solo, while Austin Luther plays an impressive stand-up bass.

Check out the live performance below.

After getting to know King Calaway and witnessing their magic at an exclusive NYCountry Swag showcase back in January, we are truly excited about their future success. The singers have already opened for the iconic Garth Brooks, performed at CMA Fest, and made their television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

King Calaway will be touring all summer, playing their own gigs and radio events, as well as, opening for successful musicians, such as Rascal Flatts. Go to kingcalaway.com for a full list of tour dates and more information. Don’t forget to keep checking our calendars to see if the band plays a show near us soon!

King Calaway Make Their Television Debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

King Calaway

Comprised of bandmates Caleb Miller, Chris Deaton, Simon Dumas, Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis, and Austin Luther, King Calaway isn’t looking to blend into the crowd. They’re not even looking to fit in. They’re in the business of standing out…and King Calaway stands tall. We hosted an exclusive NYCountry Swag Showcase featuring the boys in January right before the drop of their debut self-titled ep King Calaway and instantly fell in love with their style of music.

It is no surprise they are rising to the top very quickly in these last few months and have added yet another milestone to their journey. Last night, June 10th, the band made their national television performance debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! They performed their debut single “World For Two.” With six single spotlights and an intimate crowd, the band knocked their debut out of the park. Not only has the single garnered over 2 million streams, but it also was the most added song at country radio in its first week at US radio and has been in the Top 5 for consumption per spin and streams per spin for the past six weeks.

Ahead of their late night debut, the fast-rising stars performed at The Grand Ole Opry for their second performance on June 1, followed by their first CMA Fest appearance where they performed at the Firestone Country Roads Stage at Ascend Amphitheater and the HGTV Lodge on June 6. The band most recently opened for Garth Brooks at his U.S. Bank Stadium show in Minneapolis, MN on May 3, 2019. Brooks himself introduced the band onstage as the opening act, marking the first time he had done this in his career.

King Calaway Strip Down “World For Two” and “No Matter What”

We first introduced you to the Nashville based band, King Calaway, when they played a sold-out show exclusively for New York Country Swag followers back in January. Now as more and more people start to take notice of the incredible musicians and artists that make up the 6-piece band, they continue to rise in popularity.

Kicking off the week, the boys of King Calaway claimed the title of Most Added song at country radio with their debut single “World For Two”.  The song is the first release from their debut self-titled EP. They also released two live performance videos on Vevo for “World For Two” and “No Matter What”.

In both videos the band is seen stripping down their songs in a white room, sitting around just doing what they do best, playing their instruments and harmonizing to the addictive tracks. “The six musicians who make up King Calaway are a fresh take on contemporary country music,” says Robert Deaton the executive producer of CMA. “These young men hail from all corners of the globe, but when put together on a stage, they are one and magic happens.”

They brought that special magic to the famous Grand Ole Opry stage, making their debut March 1st to a sold-out crowd. Jordan, Chad, Austin, Simon, Chris, and Caleb all appreciate the traditional country sound while transforming their unique vibes into something that has never been heard before. For more on the sextet head to our First Impression of the EP or watch our exclusive interview and performance below.

Introducing King Calaway: Behind-the-Scenes of NYCountry Swag

Wednesday (Jan 23.), New York Country Swag teamed up with BMG/BBR Music Group to promote their brand new artist, King Calaway. NYCS was tasked with filling up a New York City venue for an exclusive showcase and the first ever King Calaway show for fans. The real test of course was that at the time, the band had not yet released music nor had they played for a public audience. Normally, the NYCS team could share music or video clips and say ‘Hey, if you like this song, come to this show’… but this time that was not the case. NYCountry Swag had the confidence that the audience we have built over the past three years trusted our taste and judgment in music and in new artists and would come to the showcase unaware of what they would get to experience.

After ten days of promotions, New York Country Swag received over 500+ unique entries across all social media platforms from country music fans hoping to win their way in to our exclusive showcase event. A true testament to what we have built! We successfully filled the room at New York City’s Bowery Electric to max capacity with over 200+ people including both fans and guests from reputable outlets like Billboard, Rolling Stone, Vevo, Music Choice, TJ Martell Foundation, Nash FM and more.

From the show announcement to the night of the show, King Calaway saw a jump in socials gaining over 600+ followers. Two days after the show, King Calaway released their self-titled debut EP and received 20k+ streams in the first 24 hours.

Check out the video above for a fun look into some of the behind-the-scenes shots from the exclusive event.

[Watch] King Calaway Debuts Music Video for “World for Two”

Our favorite new country boy band, King Calaway is gearing up for an amazing year. The BBR’s Stoney Creek Records group, comprised of six talented musicians from all over the world, released their self-titled debut EP on Friday (1/25), performed at an exclusive NY Country Swag showcase in NYC, and now, gave fans even more to be excited about with the release of their first music video for their song “World for Two.”

The mid-tempo love song is the first song off King Calaway’s project and their first radio single. The lyrics tell the story of wanting to escape the chaos of the world and spend time with someone you love. With their killer harmonies on full display, the track showcases vulnerability, honestly, and pure talent from the opening note. The pop-country single is the perfect introduction to the group’s unique sound.

Filmed in the picturesque El Matador Beach in Malibu, California, the backdrop embodies the message of the song and music video beautifully. The band can be seen singing and playing instruments on the beach and around a bonfire with friends, which adds to the organic nature of the song and the group. It captures the essence of lead vocalists, Chad, Jordan, and Simon’s combined talents, as well as, the harmonizing talents of Austin, Caleb, and Chris. Not to mention, the video features the bands’ awesome guitar, bass, drums, and piano skills too.

Check out the full music video for King Callaway’s debut single, “World for Two” below.

The men of King Calaway expressed their excitement via their social media, as well as, in an exclusive with People magazine. Lead vocalist, Simon shared, “We are over the moon to finally have these songs out for people to listen to. As a group, all we want is make a positive influence with our music, and we hope everyone who listens to the record hears that.”

Here at NY Country Swag, we are just as excited, and can’t wait to continue to champion the group as they garner more and more much-deserved success. For more information about the band, head to kingcalaway.com. Don’t forget to keep up with King Calaway on Instagram and Twitter and look out for a full-length album in the future.

NYCS First Impression: King Calaway’s Self-Titled Debut EP

King Calaway Self-Titled EP

If there’s any question as to which new country act is bound to be the genre’s next big thing, look no further than King Calaway. The six-man band released their self-titled debut EP today (Jan 25.) via BBR’s Stoney Creek Records. Based on the mounting buzz and the cleverly-crafted EP, this group is undoubtedly poised for superstardom.

What makes King Calaway unique is the fact that the group is comprised of six individual musicians from three different countries, each with a diverse musical background and varied experience that includes international tours, television and award show appearances, and even American Idol golden tickets. Interestingly, the band does not boast a true frontman, but instead features Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis and Simon Dumas trading off on lead vocals, backed by multi-part harmonies from drummer Chris Deaton, lead guitarist Caleb Miller and bassist Austin Luther. Additionally, each member is a well-rounded musician, resulting in a sound that is heavily influenced by the likes of the Eagles, Keith Urban, and Ed Sheeran.

Formed in 2018, the sextet teamed with Ross Copperman and Robert Deaton for their debut project. “The six musicians who make up King Calaway are a fresh take on contemporary country music,”says Deaton. “These young men hail from all corners of the globe, but when put together on a stage, they are one and magic happens.”

On their debut EP, King Calaway enlisted a plethora of Nashville’s biggest songwriters and artists to contribute songs. The EP features the likes of Copperman, Jon Nite, Josh Osborne, Andy Albert, Teddy Geiger, Mitchell Tenpenny, Devin Dawson, Jordan Schmidt, and more.

The EP opens with the debut single, “World For Two,” a mid-tempo love song, co-written by Copperman, Josh Osborne, and James Abrahart. From the first notes, it’s clear that King Calaway’s harmonies are what makes them unique. The track evokes a bit of Extreme’s “More Than Words” mixed with Thomas Rhett and late-90’s Brit sensations BBMak to create something unique to country music. “World For Two” is a perfectly crafted piece of pop country, and we’d be shocked if it doesn’t end up topping the radio charts.

The EP picks up the pace on “No Matter What,” a fun, up-tempo track that will have you singing along by the song’s catchy second chorus. “I Do” is a lovelorn ballad that has our leading men crooning over the one that got away and the fact that they still think about the mistakes that led to the breakup. “What really hurts is/ I say the words/ You always wanted me to / I do/ Yeah I do/ Oh I do/ Think about you.”

One of the highlights of the EP is a cheerful, harmonic cover of the Stephen Stills classic, “Love the One You’re With.” Maybe it was the instant familiarity of the track, but this one immediately brought a smile to my face.

The EP ends with “Rivers,” which is much more pop than country (think “The Middle” or “This Feeling”), but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Looking at the crossover power of artists like Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, and Dan + Shay, and it’s abundantly clear that King Calaway is being groomed for multi-genre success. “Rivers” is an instant hit, ear-wormy and delightful, and we guarantee you’ll have it on repeat.

In many ways, King Calaway is the boyband that country music never knew it always needed. With a diverse group of six talented guys, this band is sure to have the girls swooning, snatching up their albums, and coming out in droves to their live shows. Watch out Why Don’t We and BTS, King Calaway is here to claim your crowns.

This past week, King Calaway hit the stage at New York City’s Bowery Electric for an exclusive show with NYCountrySwag. Additionally, they’ll make their Grand Ole Opry Debut on Friday, March 1. For more information on King Calaway, please visit kingcalaway.com and be sure to follow them on Facebook, InstagramTwitter and Spotify.

King Calaway is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

The performance culminated at the end of their set when they performed “Rivers” an instant fan favorite, with its catchy beat and EDM vibes similar to the recent sensation cross-over hit “The Middle” or Zac Brown Band’s “Tomorrow Never Comes”.
