Ingrid Andress is a unique new talent in the music industry, who was recently signed by Warner Music Nashville. We got a sneak peek at her impressive vocals, as well as her heartfelt songwriting and story-telling ability, back in February, during an exclusive showcase to introduce her artistry. So far, the songstress has released two songs, “Lady Like” and “More Hearts Than Mine,” with the former already achieving over two million streams. As she continues to garner more fans and notoriety, Andress can check off another accomplishment: making her national TV debut on NBC’s ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ just last night (4/15).

With a record of her newest single in hand, host, Seth Meyers introduced the singer-songwriter to stage stating, “With her television debut, performing “Lady Like,” please welcome to the show, Ingrid Andress everyone.”

Andress began her performance, sitting at her piano. The ethereal setting, complete with mood lighting and greenery, matched her effortless and beautiful vocals perfectly. The recording artist glowed throughout her entire performance while rocking an all-white power-suit, as the perfect juxtaposition to the eloquence of her song “Lady Like.” Andress nailed her performance, even getting up from the piano to belt out some of her lyrics and show off her stage presence. When her performance came to a close, the singer-songwriter had the biggest smile on her face, showcasing a monumental moment in her career.

In a climate that is full of talented female country artists that are underrepresented, we look forward to seeing how Andress and many other female singers make waves and change the music industry for the better. We look forward to continuing to champion Andress, as she hits more milestones in her new career.

Ingrid Andress Releases Family-Inspired “More Hearts Than Mine”

Ingrid Andress More Hearts Than Mine

Warner Music Nashville’s newest recording artist, Ingrid Andress impressed us with her effortless voice and killer song-writing back in February, during an exclusive showcase. A few weeks later, the singer-songwriter released her empowering debut single, “Lady Like” to country radio. Today, as a follow up to the track, Andress released her powerful ballad, “More Hearts Than Mine,” one of the songs we previewed at the event.

Andress’ new song showcases some of the most uniquely cultivated and creative songwriting by a new artist. Co-written by the songstress with Sam Ellis and Derrick Southerland, she pours her heart into the personal track, drawing inspiration from her parents and past relationships. The relatable and honest lyrics tell the story of beginning a relationship with someone and knowing that if it doesn’t work out, that your family may feel just as hurt and impacted by the breakup. The track offers a different perspective to breakups and heartbreaks that seems fitting for both Andress’ vocals and style.

“If I bring you home to mama, I guess I better warn ya, she falls in love a little faster than I do / and my Dad will check your tires, pour you whiskey over ice and take you fishing but pretend that he don’t like you /, oh if we break up, I’ll be fine, but you’ll breaking more hearts than mine.”

As one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, it will be exciting to see how country music fans react to her unique talent and story-telling ability. We look forward to seeing how her career develops over the coming year.

Ingrid Andress Releases Video for “Lady Like”

Last month we introduced you to Warner Music Nashville’s new recording artist, Ingrid Andress. At the exclusive showcase, the young artist and of CMT’s Next Women of Country captivated the crowd at Mercury Lounge with her unique vocals and lyrics, as she sang her songs, “More Hearts Than Mine,” “Bad Advice, and “Lady Like.” The latter becoming her empowering debut single. Today, the singer-songwriter released an impactful music video for “Lady Like,” debuting on CMT.

Throughout the music video, Andress plays with constructs of femininity. The video showcases both male and female lyrical dancers, donning pink suits as the songstress sings the lyrics to her song, as well as, Andress holding her own, playing poker with “masculine” men. The young woman’s new video embodies her unapologetic lyrics perfectly, exuding that being a “lady” is not just one thing. She crushes gender stereotypes and proves that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Controversial, so outspoken / I’ve been told I’m not ladylike / But I’m a lady like, woah / I could bring you to your knees / And get you kicked out the Garden of Eden / Untamable, unframeable, Mona Lisa / Oh, kiss you like a whiskey fire / Turn around, leave your heart a riot / Lipstick in a cigarette pack on the dash / I’m a lady like that.”

Introducing New Songwriter/Artist Ingrid Andress

Ingrid Andress

Last night the NYCountry Swag team was invited out to an exclusive showcase with the newest member of the Warner Music Nashville family, Ingrid Andress. After a warm welcome from John Esposito, Chairman and CEO of Warner Music Nashville,  this sassy young woman captivated the audience of Mercury Lounge with her lyrical genius and her stunning voice.

She took time to candidly chat before each song, explaining the place where her heart lived when she was writing her music. She has been writing songs for a long time but finally felt that partnering with Warner was the right choice, a team who allowed her to create the music she wanted.  Her songs like “Bad Advice”, and “We’re Not Friends” highlight the current tumultuous situations that single people deal with in 2019.

Making it crystal clear that her five siblings and parents mean the world to her, she performed two songs about her family, “The Stranger” which tells the story about a real-life relationship, making it through difficult times and coming out the other side even stronger, and arguably the most poignant song of the night “More Hearts Than Mine”.

“If I bring you home to mama, I guess I better warn ya, she falls in love a little faster than I do / and my Dad will check your tires, pour you whiskey over ice and take you fishing but pretend that he don’t like you /oh if we break up, I’ll be fine, but you’ll breaking more hearts than mine.”

Sitting at the keyboard, you could hear a pin drop in a room full of people who work in the music industry as they hung on every single word coming out of the songstress’ mouth. She filled her 30-minute set with songs that she has written about her life, not afraid of going to a dark place and singing her feelings.

She closed the showcase with her debut single “Lady Like” which became available last night at midnight. The track which focuses on looking past gender stereotypes is an anthem for girls who don’t care about being refined and polished.

“Controversial, so outspoken, I’ve been told I’m not ladylike / but I’m a lady like woah / I could bring you to your knees / Get you kicked out the Garden of Eden / Untameable, unframeable Mona Lisa oh / Kiss you like a whiskey fire / Turn around leave your heart in a riot / Lipstick in a cigarette pack on the dash / I’m a lady like that.”

With a push from her major label and the new wave of female country artists emerging, it’ll be interesting to see how her career develops over the coming year. Keep up with Ingrid Andress by following her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

“Lady Like” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Check out the track and more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
