Cole Swindell: ‘Stereotype’ – Album Review

Cole Swindell’s brand new album, Stereotypeis out now, April 8th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new music below and check out our full review.

After four years, Cole Swindell has released his fourth studio album, Stereotype. Filled with heartbreak and love, this is one of Swindell’s most passionate and personal projects to date.

When you look up the word stereotype in the dictionary, it is defined as a “simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group”. On this album, Swindell wants us to see that there is more to people then who society labels them as.

He does a great job starting with the title track.  Written by Swindell, Michael Hardy and Jordan Schmidt, “Stereotype” is upbeat and about falling in love with a country girl who has many different layers to her. “Girl Gone Crazy” shares a similar message. Accompanied by crisp guitar solos, it reminds you that everyone is going through something, and you can’t judge them for their actions. We’ve all done something out of character and that shouldn’t be who we are defined as.

“Save your psychopath and don’t judge that black dress book by the tear straight cover girl // Cause she’s a small town mama lovin’ settle down house on a hill and raise up a couple of babies // She’s living proof that some stupid boys the only reason a girl goes crazy”.

From breaking stereotypes to falling in love, Swindell allows us to see a vulnerable side of him. Pouring his heart and powerful vocals into ballad tracks “I’m Gonna Let Her” and “Some Habits,” you can tell that he is genuinely happy and ready to take the next steps in his relationship.

The singer-songwriter also reminds us that not every relationship lasts and everyone goes through a heartbreak.   “How is She” is one of the most heartfelt breakup songs out there. It’s about asking how your ex is doing so well while you are still coping with a broken heart.

“How is she making friends, making rent // I gotta know // How is she doing fine, smiling in all her pictures // How is she getting drunk and not sending one damn I miss ya”

It’s no secret that the Georgia Native is a huge 90’s country fan as he always showcases his love with a set during his live shows. The track “She Had Me At Heads Carolina” honors that along with Jo Dee Messina’s song, “Heads California, Tails California”. It’s about falling in love with a girl who sings this at karaoke and has a love for 90s country. The guitar, drums, and lyrics will have you up and dancing every time you hit play.

“Every Beer” is a reminder that these past couple of years have been tough on everyone and has really opened your eyes to enjoy every moment of what you have. This song reminds you to live in the moment, take that trip, live with no regrets.

“Call your momma // See the world // Get the tattoo // Kiss the girl // Count your blessings // Thank your stars”

Swindell certainly knows how to pick artists to accompany him on his music. Teaming up with fellow artist and award-winning songwriter, HARDY for “Down to the Bar”, the two show us how to get over a broken heart with a few drinks. While they may not sing conjointly, the two still fit well together alternating with each verse and chorus.  They are the perfect duo and we would join them for a drink anytime! He also teamed up with fellow award-winning artist Lainey Wilson for their duet “Never Say Never”. While they have their own unique voices, their vocals blend together perfectly creating a hit. It’s no wonder it is quickly climbing the charts.

Closing out the album, “Walk on Whiskey” is one of the purest, most honest songs about coping with losing a loved one. Swindell lost his mom in September, and he pours out his emotions in this beautiful acoustic track. It shares a heartfelt message of while the people who mean the most to you can’t be here forever, they’ll always be watching over you.

Stereotype is filled with so many incredible songs including number one song “Single Saturday Night”. You can tell that this album means a lot to Swindell and he put his blood, sweat, and tears into it. It was certainly worth the four-year wait.

Cole Swindell Releases New Love Song “I’m Gonna Let Her”

Cole Swindell’s new love song, “I’m Gonna Let Her” is out now, February 4th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

Cole Swindell is gearing up for Valentine’s Day with his new song, “I’m Gonna Let Her.” The romantic tune is about finding that special someone and allowing them to show you their definition of love. When you are in a relationship, you have to be willing to try new things and be open to vulnerability. Those two things will help you get to that next step in your relationship and that’s what this song captures. Filled with beautiful acoustics and powerful vocals, this is one of Swindell’s most personal songs to date.

“And I’m gonna let her // Keep on making this life of mine a little better // showing me all about love right down to the letter // So if she wants to think I’m thinking about forever // I’m gonna let her.”

Swindell teased the song by featuring the first verse as a sound on TikTok accompanied by a collage of photos featuring him and his girlfriend, Courtney Little. Little accompanied Swindell in his music video for “Some Habits”.

It’s been a big week for the Georgia native as he also announced his fourth studio album Stereotype will be released on April 9th. The thirteen-track record will feature a collaboration with HARDY and includes previously released tracks “Single Saturday Night”, “Some Habits”, and his duet with Lainey Wilson “Never Say Never”.

We are loving what we’ve heard so far and we can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!

Cole Swindell & Lainey Wilson Release New Song “Never Say Never”

Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson collaborate on their brand new song “Never Say Never,” out today, November 18th, on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the brand new track below.

Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson released their duet, “Never Say Never” and it’s a country music collab that we never knew we needed.

We’ve all had that one relationship where we said it was over, but we keep going back for more and that’s exactly the story this song tells. Written by Swindell, Jessie Alexander, and Chase McGill the edgy track starts out with a guitar before Wilson sings the first line, “I told my momma” followed by Swindell with “I told my friends”. The two continue to rotate lines throughout each verse and join forces for the chorus. The singer-songwriters each have their own unique voice yet blend together perfectly creating a hit.

“I never say never with you // I end up together with you // It’s Hell, and it’s Heaven with you, baby // anything’s possible // the highs are unstoppable // it’s so uncontrollable, it’s crazy // we say we won’t, and then we do // you’re all I want // I never say never with you”

The two stirred up rumors of the track last Friday by sending cryptic tweets to each other. Then earlier this week the artists shared a comical video discussing what each of them wouldn’t do such as wearing bell bottoms or changing a tire. However, one thing they did agree on was collaborating on a song together. And we are so happy they did.

Cole Swindell Performs Emotional 9/11 Tribute at World Trade Center

Back in May 2016, singer-songwriter Cole Swindell visited New York City to perform his hit single “You Should Be Here” on Fox and Friends in honor of the heroes of September 11th, 2001. Set on top of World Trade Center Four with the Freedom Tower of One World Trade Center creating the perfect backdrop, Swindell gave a whole new meaning to the powerful song which was originally written in memory of his father.

Families of those who lost their lives in the attacks on 9/11, first responders, and military personnel were all invited to attend the special performance. Before beginning, Swindell adds “This is absolutely the most special thing I’ve ever got a chance to do. I want everybody to know how much I respect this place and respect the families.”

Cole Swindell Releases Brand New Song “Some Habits”

Cole Swindell’s new song “Some Habits,” is out now, September 10th, on all streaming platforms.  Take a look below as we dig into the track.

After teasing fans on social media with photos and lyrics, Cole Swindell has released a new tune called, Some Habits” and it’s a good one! The new song comes on the heels of Swindell’s tenth number one song with “Single Saturday Night.”

Bad habits are hard to break, and everyone has picked up a bad a habit at some point in their lifetime, whether that is swearing too much, eating too much fast food, biting your fingernails, etc. However, when you meet the right person, they will bring the best out of you and help you change those bad habits into good. And that is what Swindell shares in this heartfelt ballad.

“Cause good bourbon is hard to put down // That high road is hard to stay on // That good book is hard to pick up // That old me is hard to turn off // Girl I’ve been trying like hell // Might be getting ahead of myself // But the longer I love you the more I know some habits ain’t meant to be broke”

The Georgia native started teasing the song on September 1st, posting lyrics to the song accompanied by images of the singer in an open field.  Three similar posts followed, accompanied by a presave link in his Instagram bio. When fans saved the song, they were thanked by three emojis of whiskey, a bible and a heart, leaving fans in suspense. And we are thrilled with the outcome!

While this is Swindell’s first solo release of 2021, he’s certainly been busy. The singer has been preparing new music and has been back out on the road on the Center Point Road Tour with Thomas Rhett. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Cole Swindell’s “Single Saturday Night” Earns Him His 10th #1 Song

Cole Swindell’s song “Single Saturday Night” is officially a chart-topper, marking the tenth number one song of his career!

Over the last few years, Cole Swindell has become a mainstay in country music. His debut singles “Chillin’ It” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” may have put him on the map, but it is his newest songs that are making waves on radio. This week, Swindell’s song “Single Saturday Night” reached the top of the country charts, marking his tenth number-one single.

The song is one of the few gems 2020 had to offer. Written by Ashley Gorley, Mark Holman, and HARDY, the fun-loving track is everything we needed during that time. The upbeat tune is the perfect summer jam! Swindell sings about how the dating world can be tough, but your person may always be right around the corner. The music video explores the concept even further, showcasing a pretty redhead, (Nashville influencer, Shannon Ford) and the coveted drink of the summer, White Claw.

We hope this starts the trajectory of more new music out for the singer! “Single Saturday Night” may be one of the most entertaining songs of the recording artist career. It will be really fun to see the singer perform it live this summer. Congrats to Swindell and his team for another chart-topper!

Shy Carter Teams with Cole Swindell and David Lee Murphy on New Song

Shy Carter’s new song “Beer With My Friends” with Cole Swindell and David Lee Murphy is available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Check out the track below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.

Shy Carter, Cole Swindell, and David Lee Murphy are ready for summer with new song “Beer With My Friends”.

The upbeat track starts out with Shy Carter telling David Lee Murphy to ‘hit it’, followed by an electric guitar and the three singers joining in together right away for part of the chorus. Carter then sings solo for the first verse with Murphy and Cole Swindell joining in to harmonize. Murphy handles the second verse followed by Cole Swindell on the third verse. This may not have been a trio you were picturing collaborating on a song, but they are the perfect mix. Their voices blend well together, and you can certainly tell they had a great time recording this track.

“Right now I really need a beer with my friends // Pop a top and talk about it way back when // It’s been too long // No matter how long it’s been // Right now, I really need a beer with my friends”

With restrictions loosening and places continuing to open up, this summer should be all about reuniting with the friends we haven’t seen in months and that’s what “Beer With My Friends” is all about. No matter how long it’s been since you’ve seen each other, when you get together it’s like no time has passed. They are the people you can rely on cheering you up when you’re down, the people you celebrate the good news with, and of course the people you enjoy a drink with!

The trio shared that they were teaming up earlier this week on social media. They shared a picture of the three of them with the caption, “We got something BIG comin’ up for y’all.” Followed by the cover art and a sample of the track a couple of days later. This is a friendship we didn’t know we needed but love seeing! Add the brand new song to your playlist and bump it all summer long.

Cole Swindell Sings About His Last “Single Saturday Night”

Single Saturday Night Cole Swindell

Cole Swindell has been teasing us all week about new music. He certainly got our attention from having fans unscramble the name of the song to sharing short clips on social media. “Single Saturday Night” is officially out, and it’s one you’ll want to hear.

Written by Ashley Gorley, Mark Holman, and Michael Hardy, “Single Saturday Night” is about a night that changes a single bachelor’s life for the better. It also has all the necessities needed for a fun summer night, from a night out drinking with friends, the infamous White Claw, and romance. This upbeat track will not only have you up dancing, it’ll remind you that while the dating world may be tough, the love of your life may walk into your life when you least expect it.

“Sitting over in the corner, baby, I saw / Pretty red lips working on a white claw / Shaking to a little, shook me all night long / And I thought man what a beautiful sight / Ain’t a morning you don’t wake up in my shirt now / Look at us even picking out a church now / Who’d of thought, baby, looking back at that / That would be my last single Saturday night.”

Swindell was supposed to hit the road this summer with HARDY and Thomas Rhett on the Center Point Road Tour. However, the tour has, like many others, been postponed until 2021. Learn more about the new dates and ticket refunds here.
