5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Miss Riley Green On Tour With Brad Paisley

One of our favorite rising artists and 2019 Artists to Watch, Riley Green is currently on tour with Chris Lane and Brad Paisley. The summer tour will be wrapping up at the end of the month with two tri-state area shows, August 30th at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre and August 31st at PNC Bank Arts Center.

From scoring his very first number one hit earlier this year with “There Was This Girl” to making waves with his newest release “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” Green is paving his own path towards superstardom. With his debut album Different ‘Round Here slated for release next month, September 20th and a headlining tour of his own beginning this fall, here are five reasons why you should be sure to head into the venue early to catch his opening set.

1. He Has A Song For Every Emotion

Whether you’re in the mood to jam out or in the mood to cry, Green has you covered with everything in between. Songs like “There Was This Girl” and “In Love By Now” will have you up and dancing, while “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” might get you emotional. “Bettin’ Man” and “Same Old Song” will definitely have you swaying back and forth, focusing on Green’s guitar skills and incredible vocals.

2. For The Ladies… He’s Handsome

Not only is Green extremely talented, but he was also blessed with good looks too. For us ladies who love a man with a beard, he is the guy for you.

3. He Flawlessly Blends Traditional and Modern Country Music

Green was raised in Jacksonville, Alabama on old traditional country, bluegrass and southern gospel music. Growing up, he spent his childhood songwriting and performing for his grandfather, who ran Golden Saw Music Hall. Green shared the stage with his grandfather, Bufford Green and other influential men of his time. As he grew older, he put his own mixture of modern rebellion into his original music.

4. You Will See Him Live Before He Releases His Debut Album

The Jacksonville, Alabama native will be releasing his debut album Different ‘Round Here on September 20th. Green co-wrote each of the fourteen tracks with some of Nashville’s greatest songwriters including Jessi Alexander, Erik Dylan, Justin Weaver and more. He also recorded the project alongside CMA and ACM award-winning producer Dann Huff and executive producer Jimmy Harnen. You will get to hear and know most of the songs on the LP before it’s release.

5. You Can Say You Knew Him When

For followers of NYCountry Swag, you knew about the singer-songwriter back when we hosted a Swag Session with him last Fall. We sat down with Green at The Boogie Room in October 2018 while he performed two songs for us and spoke about his experience as a country music artist up until that point. Watch the Swag Session above.

Chris Lane Writes Special Song & Proposes to Lauren Bushnell

Credit: Nick Swift for PEOPLE

Today PEOPLE Magazine broke the news that Chris Lane and Lauren Bushnell of “Bachelor” fame are engaged!! They were celebrating Father’s Day at Bushnell’s parents’ home in Oregon when he popped the question. Lane had been working on a song for her called “Big, Big Plans” which happens to be all about the proposal.

He played the song and then got down on one knee with a gorgeous emerald-cut diamond. The groom to be just happened to step in some fresh dog poop in his bare feet just as he was about to go through with the proposal, he told PEOPLE. “Even though I felt pretty confident I was going to get the ‘Yes,’ I’ve never been that nervous,” he continued. “When I got to the third verse of the song and knew it was time, I pretty much blacked out. The next thing I knew, she said ‘yes’ and the nerves just lifted! It’s an explosion of excitement, pure joy, and love.” Bushnell & Lane started dating back in the fall after a long friendship. They made it official in November, debuting their relationship at the BMI Country Awards.

These two seem to be a match made in heaven and we are so excited to see the future music this happiness is going to bring the talented musician. Take a listen to the song and watch the touching and emotional proposal above.

Congrats to Chris & Lauren – the future Mr. & Mrs. Lane!!

Chris Lane Releases Feel-Good Video for His Next Single “Fishin'”

Platinum-selling country superstar Chris Lane released the music video to his feel-good summer song “Fishin'” and watching it will make you want to be beachside. “Fishin” is the latest off of Lane’s hit sophomore album Laps Around The Sun, and is filmed on a pier overlooking the waves crashing in beautiful Pensacola Beach, Florida. Directed by Justin Clough and penned by Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley, Josh Thompson, and Matt Dragstrem “Fishin” is a light-hearted love song about escaping and enjoying life with a summer fling.

As a couple dances playfully in the sand, Lane sings the chorus, “And when they ask us where we’re heading / We’ll say somewhere where they’re biting / Little secret spot hiding / When them lighting bugs are bugging/Catch a buzz and catch a feeling / Just reeling you in / Stealing kisses, just go missing / When they ask where we’ve been / We’ll call it fishin.'” Whether it is cruising on the boat, playing guitar on the pier, or hanging out in the beach town, Lane sings along to what looks like the perfect date.

“Fishin'” is the latest song to be released by Lane after his chart-topper “I Don’t Know About You” and the hit collaboration “Take Back Home Girl” with Tori Kelly. His album Laps Around The Sun landed at #1 on iTunes Top Country and was named one of Billboard’s Top 10 Country Album’s. After closing out the second leg of his successful headlining Laps Around The Sun tour in January, Lane is joining Brad Paisley on his 2019 World Tour across the U.S. and Europe. Later in the year, Lane will be joining Danielle Bradbery, Travis Denning, and Rachel Wammack in the U.K. as part of CMA’s Introducing Nashville series.

Chris Lane Sells Out First NYC Headlining Show & Is Surprised On Stage

For a cold, wet Thursday night, country fans completely packed Irving Plaza to the gills to watch Gabby Barrett, Mason Ramsey, and Chris Lane play their first New York City show.  Fans arrived early, catching the American Idol second runner-up and east coast native Gabby Barrett in her opening set.  Next up, yodeling sensation and pre-teen Mason Ramsey took the stage to absolutely deafening screams.  This little cowboy has stolen the hearts of people across the country and it was obvious from the moment he walked on stage wearing a western fringe shirt that New York City had fallen in love with his innocent charm as well.

Chris Lane Mason Ramsey Gabby Barrett

Playing songs from his debut EP including, “Jambalaya (On the Bayou)” and “Lovesick Blues” this small singer packed his set with traditional country music and the fans were loving every second of it.  His dance moves, tossing his cowboy hat and tipping his hat to thank the crowd was all a part of his set, he even held up a water bottle to ‘cheers’ with the audience.  They don’t call this pint-sized star ‘Lil Hank Williams’ for no reason, he brings the legend’s songs into 2018 and New York City fans who probably haven’t heard the original versions of these songs have now taken a liking to the traditional country vibe. He closed with “Famous” his debut radio single and there were points during the chorus when the crowd’s singing along drowned out the band.  Whether he was picking along on his guitar or stomping his feet, Ramsey’s set was accepted and brought a wonderful cheer to the entire room.

The ‘Laps Around the Sun Tour’ headliner, Chris Lane is the perfect act for a New York City crowd, he brings undeniable swagger and modern country to fans who love him for his original music as well as his energetic stage presence. Commercially, Lane has had success on country radio and he sang all of those songs during his 90minute set including “Fix”, “Broken Windshield View” and his country version of Mario’s “Let Me Love You”.  From the opening lines of the very first song in his set, the fans from the front row to the back of Irving Plaza were singing along, an incredible moment not only for the artist but for his entire team standing in the balcony.

Engaging with the crowd, even bringing two girls on stage to serenade “For Her” and his latest single “I Don’t Know About You”, they both were genuinely surprised to be plucked from the stage and clearly enjoyed every minute of the special moment. Before ending the latter, Lane asked the audience to help belt out the chorus one last time, which prompted one of the loudest sing-alongs we have heard in New York City. Check out our exclusive video of the chilling moment below.

Just like Ramsey, Lane took a moment of his set to bring his favorite traditional country songs into the mix, wearing a black cowboy hat, singing a medley of 90’s favorites like “Chattahoochee”, “Friends in Low Places”, “Check Yes or No” and others that would make the country greats proud.

Surprising the ACM New Male Vocalist Nominee on stage, his team from his record label Big Loud Records and his publicists from Sweet Talk PR walked on the stage in the middle of his set, saying ” I never have interrupted your show right?, well we are out here for a very, very special reason and New York, just for you tonight we are here to tell Chris Lane that the very next song you are about to sing, “Take Back Home Girl” has been certified platinum!”  With a shocked look on his face, Lane gratefully held up his new plaque hugging each and every member of his team while the audience cheered along. “I’m literally at a loss for words, thank you guys so much for how hard you work each and every day to make sure that this happens, and it takes a whole team of everybody, even country radio, I love you guys, thank you so much for believing in me,” he humbly stated.  “To the fans, thank you so much for this, I love you guys”.

He then welcomed Gabby Barrett back to the stage to sing Tori Kelly’s part on his now certified platinum single “Take Back Home Girl”. The duet was the perfect ending to the night, as Lane and Barrett stepped off the stage the crowd was left wanting more and will look forward to the next time he rolls through town.

Chris Lane Laps Around the Sun

NYCS First Impression: Chris Lane ‘Laps Around the Sun’

Chris Lane Laps Around the Sun

Chris Lane’s sophomore album Laps Around the Sun, available everywhere today feature fourteen tracks written by some of Nashville’s top writers including Rhett Akins, Busbee, Rodney Clawson as well as Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line and Ryan Hurd. His debut album Girl Problems secured Lane his spot in the country world with hits such as “Fix” and “For Her”, which were both certified gold. This project is filled with Lane’s signature pop-country blend which lends perfectly to his live show.  We caught him most recently playing Nash FM 94.7’s Summer Shindig where he engaged fans by playing his hits and covering some classic country tunes.

With the summer in full swing, Laps Around the Sun is being released at the perfect time.  Three songs that stand out to add to your go-to summer soundtrack are the title track, “Fishing” and “Sun Kiss You”.  Picking songs to record for his second album, he feels like he has found out in the process the kind of artist he wants to be.  “I’ve learned a lot,” Lane tells Billboard, “With my first record, I was trying to figure out exactly what kind of sound I wanted to have, and now I know. I know what I truly love and what kind of artist I want to be. My goal was to make sure anyone who hears this album finds a song they can relate to. I hope I accomplished that.”

The album features two duets with female artists, his smash hit “Take Back Home Girl” with Tori Kelley and “Without You” with Danielle Bradbery. The former is climbing up the country radio charts and has quickly become a favorite during his live set.  Fans are familiar with two of the tracks, “Old Flame” and “All the Right Problems” which were featured on his latest EP and Lane has been playing in his live shows as well.

The North Carolina native channeled his childhood influences on this record including Kenny Chesney. The quintessential summer album mixes country with beer, sunshine, and boats, something Lane does well to represent on all of the feel-good tracks.  The album closes with “Hero” a ballad that takes a more serious note but just happens to be the perfect way to end the project, showing Lane’s undeniable growth over the past few years as an artist and an entertainer.

After a short break, Carly Pearce was next up, wearing a tank top with the word “Wine” in a heart, which boded well considering it was National Wine Day and played perfectly when she sang her second radio hit “Hide the Wine”. Check out a clip from the song here.  Pearce sang album cuts including her very first single and number one song, “Every Little Thing”. “Thanks to stations like this one, shout out to NashFM 94,” Pearce exclaimed for helping her to achieve the accomplishment with “Every Little Thing”.
