Maren Morris Releases “GIRL”, Her First Single From Sophomore Album

Maren Morris Girl

Grammy award-winning artist, Maren Morris has made strides throughout the country and pop charts over the past year with multiple solo singles from her debut album, HERO, along with her hit collaboration with EDM producers Zedd and Grey, “The Middle.” Today, she has returned to her solo country musical roots, with the lead single from her upcoming sophomore studio album, entitled “GIRL.”

Co-written with Greg Kurstin and Sarah Aarons, the mid-tempo female empowerment anthem dignifies the concept that there is no need for competition between women, we should all support one another through ups and downs. Morris discussed the meaning behind the song during a radio interview on Nash FM 94.7 with on-air host Jesse Addy, saying she penned this song with that original intention and wound up realizing the message applied to herself.  She sings in the chorus, “Girl / Won’t you stop your crying / I know that you’re trying / Everything’s gonna be okay, baby / Girl, don’t you hang your head low / Don’t you lose your halo / Everyone’s gonna be okay, baby / Girl”

This track was not the only thing Morris released today. Earlier this morning, the Texas native surprised fans with her forty-two date second headlining tour, ‘Girl The World Tour.’ The tour will stop in New York City on not one, but two dates; Friday, May 3rd at Brooklyn Steel and Saturday, May 4th at Terminal 5. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, January 22nd at 10 AM. Visit https://www.marenmorris.com for additional information.
