Anne Wilson Debuts New Song with Jordan Davis “Country Gold”

Anne Wilson releases new song with Jordan Davis, “Country Gold” out now, March 22nd, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

There is nothing quite like country-music collaborations that feel both unexpected and perfect in nature. Today, singer-songwriters, Anne Wilson and Jordan Davis combine their talents in an unexpected release. Their new song “Country Gold” is a flawlessly-executed single about life and the true meaning of luck.

Written by Wilson with Jeff Pardo and Matthew East, “Country Gold” feels like a relative of Davis’ smash hit, “Buy Dirt.” Written in the same vein, “Country Gold” portrays the true meaning of what richness looks like and reminds us all to celebrate the everyday moments. The song showcases Wilson’s spiritual and Christina roots, while also plating itself firmly in country music. Both Wilson and Davis are the perfect artist to tell the song’s story.

“He pledged her heart and soul // 50 years ago // with country gold // It’s a little house on a little land // A little built it with your own two hands // Little pride in a hard week’s work // Little supper after Sunday church // To most ti might not look like much // But I put roots down here because // the richest people that I’ve ever known // struck country gold”

“Country Gold” is another sneak peak of of Wilson’s upcoming album, Rebel. Be on the lookout for the album, dropping Friday, April 19th.

The Frontmen: Self-titled Debut Album Review

The Frontmen’s self-titled debut album is officially out now, March 22nd on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new record here!

Last year, three of ’90s country’s most recognizable voices combined their talents to form a new trio called The Frontmen. Together, Richie McDonald (Lonestar), Tim Rushlow (Little Texas), and Larry Stewart (Restless Heart), reimagine their iconic classics and give fans more music that pays homage to the 90s country decade. Today, their debut self-titled album is officially here!

“It’s super cool to release brand new music as a full album” shared Stewart in recent press release.”I’m so excited about this music, these songs and how this project represents the three of us so perfectly.” Rushlow added, “It feels quite surreal to finally let the world in on what we have been cooking in the kitchen with The Frontmen. For 14 years playing select shows at home and overseas for our men and women in uniform, it’s time to see what the world thinks of us! I am more proud of this record with Larry and Richie than any music I have ever been involved in making.”

The debut record features six previously released songs off the EP Familiar Faces and six new songs. Amongst some of the released songs are The Footmen Editions of classic country songs, “I’ll Still Be Loving You,” “Amazed,” and “God Blessed Texas.” On both “I’ll Still Be Loving You” and “Amazed” The Frontmen breathe new life into the already classic songs. On “God Blessed Texas,” they prime a song that is fun and made for the live show. High-energy and uptempo, the song is hard not to sing and dance along to, even after just one listen.

“I Need You” is a familiar mid-tempo song that pays homage to the early 00’s country landscape that we all still feel nostalgic about. On “It Was Always You,” The Frontmen bring their iconic voices to centerstage. The song feels reminiscent and like coming home upon listening. It also feels stage-ready, clearly something that The Frontmen seemingly know a thing or two about. Additionally, “Left Their Mark” tells a poignant story. It touches the edges of sacrifice, losing someone you love, and the incredible military men and women who put their lives on the line each and everyday for all of us.

On “I Need You,” a familiar mid-tempo song, the trio pay homage to the early 00’s country landscape that we all still feel nostalgic for. Similarly on “It Was Always You” and “Left Their Mark,” The Frontmen show off their story-telling prowess. The latter song touches the edges of sacrifice, losing someone you love, and the incredible military men and women who put their lives on the line each and everyday for all of us.

Amongst the new songs are songs like “The Radio Played,” Beatles and Eagles,” and “Should’ve Run Out of Angels.” On the former, The Frontmen lean into the nostalgia of it all. The song feels like the perfect summer-ready tune, primed for radio. “Beatles and Eagles,” while more melancholy in nature also has that impressive nostalgic quality to it. The record ends with an appropriately-titled song, “Goodbye Beautiful Goodbye,” that truly speak to The Frontmen’s one-of-a-kind talent.

Nostalgia is a common thread woven throughout the entire record. The Frontmen have found a way to both modernize their sound, while also bringing every element country music fans have always loved from the 90s and early ’00s. Their debut album is as impressive as ever!

Anyone who has every experienced heartbreak is sure to have “28th of June” on repeat. The song fits in in perfectly with the singer’s growing catalog of music.

“Like we were never gonna let go of each other // I was too naive to know // Just ’cause something’s good don’t mean it lasts // After we fеll apart and just like that // Time kept tickin’ and you movеd on // Another 365 have come and gone // Today would have been a day that we’d celebrate // And now it’s just another Tuesday”

Moroney’s 2024 is looking brighter than ever!

Lily Rose Announces New EP + Shares Two Brand New Songs

Lily Rose announces brand new EP, Runnin’ Outta Time,’ out May 10th in conjunction with two brand new songs, out today, March 22nd. Listen to the brand new tracks below.

Fans of Lily Rose are in for a real treat. The singer-songwriter is has a brand new project, coming out on May 10th. Her EP, Runnin’ Outta Time will feature six brand new songs for fans to fall in love with. Today, Rose is giving a sneak peak of her record with two new songs that show off the flavor of the upcoming EP. “Parking Lot” and “True North” are officially out now.

“Parking Lot” personifies nostalgia. The song is all about all the experiences we go through in the most obscure place, a parking lot. Feeling like a canon event for all of us, most people have had a life-changing or pivotal experience in a parking lot, whether it be a first kiss, a first beer or a heartbreaking phone call. The symbolism of the song’s lyrics is on full display through the entire song.

About a first beer // That first kiss that first broken heart // That fight that you finished but you didn’t start // Living outside the lines parked in ‘em // Tailgate down in some faded blue denim // It’s smoking week, feed IDs, and country blue lights // It’s halftime fifth tipped to the sky Friday nights // Don’t matter where you been or where you’re from or what you got // There ain’t no denying // There’s something ‘bout a parking lot”

With “True North,” Rose leans into the nostalgic reliability again; however, this song feels a bit more close to home to the singer. On the song, the songstress shares with fans the places that she calls home and the places that provide her with peace and clarity when she is needing a moment to herself. While Rose’s true north might not be our true north, it is easy to relate to the concept of this catchy, yet special track.

“To the Chattahoochee River running underneath the pines // Sweet perfume off a honeysuckle vine // Corner Georgia dive ya’ll come back on the door // My stuck in time, my true north // Springsteen sweet tea and a red letter page // All call may name when I lose my way // When I need to see the light // on my mama’s front porch // I head down sound // to my true north”

Rose is a master at creating nostalgic music that is both relatable and personal. It is hard not to like every one of her releases. Definitely add “Parking Lot” and “True North” to your playlists!

Troy Cartwright Shares New Single “How Smart I Am”

Troy Cartwright shares new single “How Smart I Am,” out now, March 22nd, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new release below.

Troy Cartwright kicked off 2024 cementing his true sound and style in country music with his song, “Over You By Now.” Now, Cartwright is continuing to stay firmly planted in his artistry with another new release. His new song, “How Smart I Am” adds another layer to the singer-songwriter’s impressive talent.

“Another Friday, another whiskey // Last weekend she was sitting here with me // She gave me nothing // but second chances / so I don’t understand why I don’t understand it // ‘ Cause I can fix a truck if the truck won’t run // I can tell the time by the angle of the sun // Put a rod in my hand, ain’t a brag but I am lights out when I’m fishing not he lake // I did pretty good on my SAT // but I couldn’t ‘do the math right in front of me // I let a perfect girl slip through my hands // so that’ll tell you just how smart // just how smart I am”

While “Over You By Now” is a ballad, “How Smart I Am” is a mid-tempo track that feels fun to listen to despite the content of the song. Written by Cartwright with Zach Abend and Matt Rogers, “How Smart I Am” paints a picture of a downfall of a relationship and the mistakes that were made by the protagonist. The song feels stage-ready, a perfect addition to Cartwright’s growing catalog of music.

Chris Young: ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’ – Album Review

Chris Young’s new album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, featuring “All Dogs Go to Heaven,” “Looking for You,” and “Young Love & Saturday Nights” is out now.  Read our review below!

With one of country music’s strongest and most impressive voices, Chris Young’s music is instantly recognizable. He has a penchant for combining modernism with traditionalism that has made him one of the genre’s most consistent hitmakers for nearly twenty years.

Today, the singer-songwriter releases his most ambitious project to date, Young Love & Saturday Nights, an eighteen track collection that shows him stretching himself, musically, sonically, and lyrically. On his ninth full-length release for Sony Music Nashville, the Tennessee native continues to do what he does best, but does it even better. “The biggest thing for me – is I wanted this album to be special, I had a lot of time to work on this record,” He shared in a recent roundtable. “I really was just trying to find a lot of things that I wanted to say…I think I was just trying to pour out a little more of myself on this record that I haven’t really delved into before.”

“This is what this album felt like it needed to be for me,” Young shared. “It’s a little louder, a little more raw. Even the stripped-down songs are heavier. I love creating music and I love making it and the fact that I get to do that for a living is a pretty incredible thing.”

The album finds Young branching out beyond love lost, sexy times, and drinking songs to examine things like getting older, God, and his love for his dog. The seasoned singer-songwriter co-wrote 15 of the album’s 18 tracks, and was involved in producing or co-producing the bulk of the songs, bringing a new flair to his sound.

When speaking to reporters, Young revealed that he has one main issue with the album. “Here’s the problem with this record: I feel like there are about nine or ten singles on it. That’s the only negative I would say about this record, and that’s why I’m so excited to talk about it.”

While it may be commonplace for artists to feel that way, it’s truly the case on Young Love & Saturday Nights, as there are multiple single-ready tracks, just begging for radio play. Ultimately, it will depend on what direction Young and his team wants to go, as this album truly offers him the opportunity to put out something unexpected.

A perfect example of this is “Country Boy’s Prayer,” which he describes as “one of those really, really special songs.” For Young, it shows a different side, as he thanks God for all of the “country” things that make life great. “Yeah, I pray // There’s gas in my truck // And dust in my mirror // That every day my fridge is full of ice-cold beer,” He sings. “Gimme friends that I would fight for // And a girl that I would die for // Let us grow old on a front porch chair // That’s a country boy’s prayer.”

Other songs tackling new topics for Young include the previously-released ode to man’s best friend, “All Dogs Go to Heaven,” the blistering “Fire,” the celebration of small town life, “Everybody Grew Up,” and a special song for his dad, “Growin’ Up.” On that tune, he touches on themes of aging and mortality, and admits he had tried to write a similar song many times, but kept coming up empty. Instead, it came to him from writers Johnny Clawson, Dave Fenley, and Kyle Sturrock. “It’s really, really special,” he says. “It’s one of those where you hear it and you’re like, ‘Damn, I wish I wrote that.’”

For those who love Young for his sexier songs, he admits they’ll always have a place on his records. “I think that’s something that’s indicative of my records. There’s always going to be love songs, sexy songs. It’s just something that has to happen.” On Young Love & Saturday Nights, he turns the lights down low and his voice down lower on the 90’s-tinged  “Call It a Day” and the seductive “Don’t Stop Now.”

“What She Sees in Me” is a study in incredulity as Young can’t imagine what a childhood friend-turned-lover could possibly see in him. “I get to see how pretty she is when she wakes up // I get to see how perfect she is with no makeup // I can see us twenty years from now on an old porch swing // I still see her in every dream // I can see her faith when it gets tough // I can see her grace when I mess up // I can see how far she is out of my league // But I still can’t see what she sees in me.”

While Young is falling in love on tracks like “What She Sees,” he’s trying to fall out of it on “Don’t Call Me,” “Million Miles,” and “Fall Out.”. “But how do you fall out// How do you tell your heart don’t break // How do you not care // Whenever someone says her name // How do you rewind back to the good times // Act like she didn’t mean so much,” He croons. “I know how to fall in, but how do you fall out // Fall out of love.”

It’s not all love and heartbreak here, however. There’s “Double Down,” “Looking for You,” and “Knee Deep in Neon,” all driving up-tempos that provide more raucous moments. Likewise, the album’s title track is a catchy and nostalgic explosion, sampling the iconic guitar riff from the David Bowie classic, “Rebel Rebel.” “I had no idea what it was. The minute it started, I’m like, ‘Are they playing me “Rebel Rebel” right now? That’s weird,’” Young recalls of the song written by Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley, and Josh Thompson. “Then I realized it was an entirely new song.”

The album concludes with “Down,” the final track added to the album. While the relationship may have ended, it certainly had its good moments, and according to Young, that’s worth recognizing. “It’s like, ‘Hey we knew this wasn’t going to last, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing while it did,’” he says of the album’s closing moment

On Young Love & Saturday Night, Chris Young is at his absolute finest, perfectly walking the line between modern and traditional country.

5 Things to Expect from Chris Young’s Album ‘Young Love & Saturday Nights’

We chatted with country singer, Chris Young about his new album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, out Friday, March 22nd. Here are five things to expect from the upcoming project.

  1. Young Love & Saturday Nights is the biggest album of Chris Young’s career for many reasons.

“The biggest thing for me was I wanted this album to be special. I had a lot of time to work on this record. […] I sort of decided ‘hey let’s change things up a little bit’. There’s songs on here that I didn’t write. There are songs on here that I co-wrote. There are songs that I produced by myself. I was really just trying to find a lot of things that I wanted to say.”

  1. While all of the songs are great in their own right, “Country Boy’s Prayer” is a standout track on the project.

“‘Country Boy’s Prayer’ is one of those really, really special songs. It’s different topically for me. Again, I feel like there’s a lot of things on this album that are different topically, than I normally would cover. […] It’s not even a party song, it’s just a little bit different.”

  1. Young co-wrote on 15 out of the 18 songs off the project and was very selective about choosing the 3 outside cuts.

“The biggest thing for me is I look at the song, I listen to it, and I think ‘dang I wish I wrote that.’ I think in my head, I’m immediately like I got to cut it […] ‘Double Down’ is just a fun, party song, that I wish I wrote. “Gettin’ Older” I wanted to write a song for my dad, I attempted it, and I just couldn’t get it right.”

  1. The record features songs that are a bit different topically for the singer.

“There’s a song about my dad and about my dog. I was just trying to pour out a little more of myself for this record that I haven’t delved into before.”

  1. Young knows that fans love his “sexy songs,” so the album boasts those types of tracks as well.

“I think that’s something that is indicative of my records. There’s always going to be love songs, sexy songs, it’s just something that has to happen. If I don’t have them on there people are going to be mad at me and probably throw things.”

Thomas Rhett + Morgan Wallen Go Number One with “Mamaw’s House”

Thomas Rhett and Morgan Wallen earn the number one song at country radio with their collaboration, “Mamaw’s House.” Get all the details here!

When two superstars combine their talents on a song, it is almost always a hit! This was certainly the case when Thomas Rhett and Morgan Wallen collaborated last year. Their beautiful song, “Mamaw’s House” is officially the number one song at country radio this week.

Written by Rhett and Wallen with Matt Dragstrem and Chase McGill, “Mamaw’s House” begins with a touching recording of Wallen talking to his ‘Mamaw’ on the phone. It is a sweet and authentic display of affection that adds to the overall nostalgia of the song. The song is a true ode to the special relationship between grandchildren and grandmothers, as well as, speaks to the bigger notion of the importance of family in country music. This marks the 22nd number one single for Rhett and the 11th for Wallen.

“It was always hotter than the grease she used to fry that chicken // Smelled like Marlboro Reds and all the butter from her biscuits // And that Lincoln in the driveway, circa 1982 // Was on the shiny side of rusty and on the paler side of blue // Cussin’ and complainin’ weren’t allowed in Mamaw’s house // If every nightstand had a Bible, every front porch had a swing // If every backyard had a garden, every front door had a screen // Well, maybe this crazy world would straighten up and slow on down // If every town had a Mamaw’s house”

Congrats to Rhett, Wallen, and their teams on landing a number one song with “Mamaw’s House.”

Who is Tucker Wetmore? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who is Tucker Wetmore? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about his journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

Quick Facts:

Full Name -Tucker Payson Wetmore
Birthdate – 11/5/1999
Hometown – Kalama, Washington
Current City – Nashville, Tennessee
Musical Influences – David Allan Coe, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban
Label – Tucker Wetmore/Back Blocks Music
Current Single – “Wine Into Whiskey”

The Beginning:

This week’s spotlight artist is an artist that we really believe has all the qualities to make it far in music. With an impressive fanbase already established across social media, Tucker Wetmore is primed for stardom. While the singer-songwriter is still brand new to the music industry, his journey thus far is both impressive and exciting.

Wetmore grew up in Washington state, where he was surrounded by supportive friends and family. “Growing up was fun. I was in the middle of not nowhere, but nowhere, ya know. There wasn’t really much to do, so we just found stuff to do, and had fun doing it, if that makes sense. Luckily, I had a super solid friend group and family growing up, so just lots of time with them, making memories,” he shares. Adding “Growing up, my grandpa was a pastor, and he owned a church. […] Music was a huge part of just the church thing, and a huge part of growing up.”

The singer had access to all different types of music throughout his upbringing, including reggae and artists like 3 Doors Down. “Growing up, it was a lot of reggae, a lot of pacific-islander music. My dad and my uncle liked heavy metal […]. In the truck, we’d throw on country radio like Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, that whole era.”

At eleven years old, Wetmore sat at the piano for the first time. “Music kind of came into play when I was eleven. I started playing piano, and I didn’t really get up from it for a long time. I kind of used it as my therapy thing,” he shared. “I started teaching myself piano when I was eleven. I’m entirely self-taught. […] I picked up guitar shortly after that, too. Around sophomore year of high school however, I kind of put music down, and started focusing on sports.”

The Turning Point:

Despite loving music, Wetmore also loved football, and decided to attend college in Montana to play.

“I played a year of college ball in Montana, and I ended up breaking my leg for the third time. I said I should probably start taking care of my body a bit,” he shared, recalling the time he decided to quit football and ultimately leaving school.

“I dropped out of college, I had maybe 2 weeks left of my freshman year, and I just dropped out. I moved back home, got surgery, started working at a coffee shop, and I remember sitting my mom down about six months after I got home, and I said, “’Mom, I’m feeling super lost, I don’t know what I’m doing in my life.’” She said, “’well, why don’t you go sit down in front of the piano, that used to be your vice, your therapy, maybe that will strike something,’” so I wrote my first song that night after she told me that.”

With the support of his family, Wetmore reignited his passion for music. Six months after that initial conversation, he told his mom that he wanted to do music for a living. She encouraged him to go all in and to stay afloat.

With that advice in his pocket, the singer-songwriter made the move to Nashville in 2020, during the pandemic. “There wasn’t a lot of people out. My first year and a half was a lot of mingling and meeting people, and going out, and luckily, by the grace of God, I met my core friend group in the first two months,” shared the singer. “Then my manager and my publisher, Rakiyah [Marshall England], she hit me up probably a year and a half into living here. I had posted a couple of originals, just me playing on my guitar on Instagram and TikTok, and she happened to come by those, and she saw something in me, and went out on a limb.”

Today:

Since signing with Rakiyah’s management team, Wetmore has teased many songs on social media that fans are begging for him to release. Recently, the singer dropped his first official song called, “Wine Into Whiskey,” which he wrote with Jacob Hackworth and Justin Ebach.

“I remember sitting there throwing ideas around for 45 minutes to an hour and nothing was sticking,” Wetmore recalls of the day the three got together to write the track. “Then, Ebach pipes up and he says ‘I’m really sorry, but I’m just extremely hungover right now.’ Me and Jacob looked at each other and were like ‘thank god’, because we were too,” he continues. Adding, “We were just coming off my birthday weekend, and we all took a couple of minutes to laugh about that. Then finally, Ebach pipes up and he goes ‘Alright, I don’t know what this means, but wine into whiskey.’”

Eventually, the threesome began writing the song, which took them about 45 minutes total. “Wine Into Whiskey” depicts what it feels like from the guy’s perspective to break a girl’s heart. “I grew up with four sisters and a beautiful mother and seeing them go through relationships growing up was kind of my inspiration behind this song,” shared the singer. “I saw how they went through some things and some of the things that they went through weren’t right to me, so I kind of put it from the perspective of if the guy would have seen or known what he was doing wrong, maybe he wouldn’t of done it, kind of thing.”

“Wine Into Whiskey” is just the beginning for Wetmore. He has many songs coming down the pipeline, with “Wind Up Missin’ You” being his next release. Make sure to jump on the bandwagon ASAP, and catch the singer on tour with Kameron Marlowe this spring. Get your tickets here.

Each of his songs showcase his humanity and his talent as a singer and as a songwriter. Today, the singer officially announces his brand new studio album, Keeping’ The Lights On, releasing on 5/31. In conjunction with the album news, Marlowe also dropped the album’s title track.

“This song is incredibly personal to me. Growing up, my parents did more than enough to provide for my family, and there was a time I witnessed my dad’s humility after losing his job. I went over there one night and we were talking about everything and he said ‘I just don’t know how we’re going to keep the lights on.’ It really resonated with me, and that was the inspiration behind the title,” shared Marlowe about the song and project. “It’s a testament to their continued sacrifices and my dedication to remaining authentic in this crazy business. As the album title and closing track, ‘Keepin’ The Lights On’ embodies the promise I made to always tell the truth and remain true to myself instead of chasing the bright lights.”

The album will feature sixteen songs that all speak to the singer’s experience thus far over the last couple of years. The single, “Keepin’ The Lights On” is a beautiful ode to life and to his family, feeling like a warm hug and a truthful prayer all at the same time.
