Ella Langley releases the deluxe version of her debut album, still hungover, out now, November 1st on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.
Riding high on the success of her debut album, hungover, Ella Langley has added a few new tracks, releasing a deluxe edition, out now. On still hungover, the country chanteuse adds four new songs, each allowing the singer-songwriter to further solidify herself as one of the genre’s most exciting new stars.
Like on the standard edition, each of the additional tracks were co-written by Langley, alongside Nashville heavyweights like Natalie Hemby, Jordan Schmidt, and Jonny Clawson. Heartache continues to be a prevalent theme on the new tracks, weaving its way through each impassioned and vulnerable note.
With her unique tone and uncanny vulnerability, Ella Langley has been routinely labeled as one to watch in country music. With the release of her debut full-length album, hungover, out now, she proves why.
Included here are the previously released “Weren’t for the Wind,” which marks Langley’s biggest solo debut to date, and the breezy “Made It Out of Mexico.” While “Wind” is a Fleetwood Mac-esque smoky earworm, “Mexico” is a lush ode to tropical love. Over stunning acoustic guitars, she leaves her heart in Mexico after a romantic vacation tryst.
“I’m still swimmin’ in your rum drunk eyes // Kissing you intoxicated I’m still seeing through a sunburnt sky // Not a song went by we wasted // Couldn’t get enough of each other’s touch // Had me at the first hello // Still got that ticket from the plane that flew me home // But I never made it out of Mexico// I never made it out of Mexico”
Likewise, “20-20” and “Girl You’re Taking Home” are both about ill-fated loves. On “20-20,” she’s dealing with the deception that came from an ex, realizing the mistakes she’s made and that hindsight is always different. “Can’t even tell you what’s hurtin’ worse,” She muses. “The fact that I fooled myself or you made a fool of me.”
Finally, “Girl You’re Taking Home” is truly a stunning, slow burning ballad about being the other woman. Here, she wonders why she’s only good enough for a sometime lover, instead of the girl he takes home.
“If i was good enough to be your last call // Why is she the one you call your mama about // After seein’ all the b.s. I saw // Why is she the one who sees your best side now // If i’m first thing on your mind // The second she lets go // Then why ain’t i the girl you’re taking home.”
For Ella Langley, the new songs on her deluxe album only deepen the story of the heartbreak and heartache that pervaded hungover, in a way that still leaves the listener wanting more.

Who is Lanie Gardner? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…
Lanie Gardner // Photo Credit: Don Henson
Quick Facts:
Full Name – Lanie Gardner
Birthdate – 07/18/1999
Hometown – Burnsville, North Carolina
Current City – Nashville, Tennessee
Musical Influences – Miranda Lambert, Gretchen Wilson, Chris Stapleton
Label – BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville
Latest Music – A Songwriter’s Diary debut album (as of date of article 10/28/2024)
The Beginning:
Every once in a while, a special artist emerges on the country music scene. Lanie Gardner is one of those artists. Despite focusing on music for what seems like forever, it is only in the last year or so that fans have and the industry have finally really taken notice. We chatted with Gardner about her music, her newly released debut album, and her journey to get to where she is now.
“I’m from a little mountain town in the middle of nowhere, so there was a lot of bluegrass and country elements up there. I also had top forty radio. […] I think probably all the things combined probably influenced my music today,” began the North Carolina native. “The generational aspects of the Appalachian Mountains influenced me a lot, even today.” Gardner also credits artists like Chris Brown and Rihanna for her love of more dance-vibe music, as well as, country artists like Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, and Eric Church for their songwriting.
Gardner recalls always being mesmerized by music. She credits her grandfather and his musical talent and dream for encouraging her own. “To make a career out of it, my grandpa used to play and sing, and he was a beekeeper as well. […] He’s a big part of why I do what I do today. He said if he had enough money to make it out of that little mountain town, he believes he would have made it. I kind of carried his dream over and just picked it up with mine,” she shared.
The Turning Point:
Upon graduating high school, Gardner immediately moved out to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. “I went to college at MTSU, and that’s how I got into an R&B phase and got to experience that, while also still writing in the country elements of music.” While attending school, Gardner continued to hone her talents as a multi-dimensional musician.
During the pandemic, Gardner’s cover of the Fleetwood Mac song, “Dreams” went viral. “That’s what started my whole career and kind of launched me into the industry,” shared the singer. “During that time, labels were kind of snagging up artists off of TikTok. The issue was the label that I was with originally didn’t quite know what to do with me, so I kind of disappeared for about two years after being shelved.”
Now, Gardner is signed to a record label that she feels fully believes in her. “Things now are starting to roll again, now that I’ve cleaned house and have a new record deal and have a new team that really believes in my vision and what I’m doing.”
Today:
Flash forward to today, Gardner just released her debut project, A Songwriter’s Diary. “I never really got to introduce myself during that time. I was kind of stuck in between what other people wanted me to be and what I wanted to be and never had that opportunity. This first album talks about where I’m from, who I am, how I think, how I speak, all of those things encompassed in this first project. I believe it will probably be a rock for the rest of my career in the future, just something to remind me of why I started this whole thing in the first place.”
The record features ten songs that the singer-songwriter has written over her lifetime. “The album as a whole, to be honest, it was a project that kind of came together without me even realizing it was coming together. I had started an Instagram series called ‘A Songwriter’s Diary.’ […] In the series, I would take the book that I had when I was in high school, one that I would write my songs down in, and I would take it and sing a song from it. Whatever page I turned to, and just sing that song. We kind of married that into my first project. This project is an accumulation of my own thoughts and words and experiences to tell the story from the very beginning. I hope I can take everybody back home with me and give them a visual.”
While many of the songs are standouts, Gardner’s song, “Somewhere, Nowhere in Carolina” is one of the best. “”Somewhere, Nowhere in Carolina” was a song written in those two years of just losing my way. Wanting to be somewhere in Carolina and nowhere in my career, was kind of my standpoint during that time because I just lost the meaning of music and the meaning of storytelling, because I wasn’t able to or allowed to do it,” shared the singer, reflecting on her journey.
Fans can expect more music coming from Gardner, as she is already writing new music and working on her next project. Additionally, a song is going to radio sooner rather than later. Gardner promises more fun stuff and more good vibes coming soon!

Brian Kelley shares brand new album Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son, officially out now, October 25th on all streaming platforms. Learn more and listen to the new album below.
Since stepping out as a solo artist, Brian Kelley has garnered a ton of loyal fans, both during his Florida Georgia Line Days and new fans that have flocked to his unique sound. His real and raw music has appealed to lovers of honest country music. His latest album, Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son is officially out now, featuring twelve songs all penned by Kelley.
“I’m probably more excited than ever to be making music and writing songs. I’m in a place in my life where I’m going to record and write whatever I want and put it out whenever I want, and that excites me . I just have so much freedom to go wherever my creativity and my authenticity takes me. So that just fires me up,” shares Kelley in a recent press release. “To be honest with you, this record caught me off guard. But once I had an inkling of what it could be, and what was happening, it was a moment I didn’t want to pass up.”
Kelley solo-wrote every single song off the project, which is a monumental feat for any artist. Songs like “Rockin’ Randall” and “Shit Kickers” show off his traditional roots, something that fans of Kelley have come to appreciate from the heavy-hitter.
Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son also features more confessional songs that speak to Kelley’s upbringing and personal views. The title track, one of the most prolific songs on the record conveys the singer’s upbringing, and his praises to his parents for the life they gave him, as well as, their influence on his life and career. Similarly on “Heaven In A Holler,” Kelley leans into his vulnerable side yet again, as he describes country life that is grounded in family and faith.
Fan-favorite song, “If I Go First” marks another standout on the project. The beautiful ballad pays tribute to Kelley’s wife, Brittney, who he has loved for over a decade. The quiet, yet filter-free song is quite possibly one of the best on the project.
Another standout on the project is a song called “Hold On, Cowboy.” The track effortlessly blends Kelley’s more traditional sound with honest storytelling. The song feels like a reminder to anyone to not give up, even when things feel hard. It is a true battle cry for anyone who feels alone in life, posing as a simple reminder that “tomorrow needs you.”
Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son is one of the most honest projects to come out of 2024. Brian Kelley brings his full self to his fans, refusing to hold anything back. These twelve songs personify the singer-songwriter’s growth as an artist, and also his true humanity. Go listen to the record ASAP!

Kelsea Ballerini shares brand new album Patterns, officially out now, October 25th on all streaming platforms. Learn more and listen to the new album below.
Kelsea Ballerini has been a mainstay in country years for several years now; however, it’s only in the past few years that she has emerged as an absolute superstar. While her music has always been honest and catchy, the EP that could (and almost never was) Rolling Up The Welcome Mat changed the game for Ballerini, catapulting her into the ethers. Today, Ballerini shares her newest project, PATTERNS, which feels like her absolute best body of work to date.
When chatting with Nylon about the record, Ballerini shared, “It’s very accepting. It’s like even when I’m feeling chaotic and even when I’m pointing the finger at myself like, “Oh, this is my fault,” there’s still an acceptance in it. Where I’m like, “I’m not going to shame myself for this feeling or this moment. It is what it is and we’re going to move forward. […] It’s what I feel like everyone in their 20s and 30s is feeling. It’s like I poked my head up for air when I turned 30 and I was like, “OK, all right. Here’s my life. What do I like? What do I not like? What have I contributed to both? What do I need to edit? What do I need to celebrate?” And then let me do the exact same thing with everyone close to me. That’s what it is.”

Lanie Gardner shares her debut album, A Songwriter’s Diary, officially out now, October 25th on all streaming platforms. Learn more and listen to the new album below.
WIth a vulnerability-laced smoky and soulful voice, rising star Lanie Gardner brings something special to country music. On her debut album, A Songwriter’s Diary, the singer-songwriter pairs acoustic-leaning instrumentation with bluesy riffs and confessional lyrics as she traverses through life’s most tender and trying moments.
Released via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, the ten track collection offers a uniquely personal insight into the mind of the brilliant artist, who independently penned each song. From the opening notes of “Somewhere, Nowhere in Carolina” to the closing moments of “Neon Notions,” it’s clear that each note and riff is precisely placed with the utmost attention to detail.
For the North Carolina native, the album’s opening track provides a truly poignant look into her experiences in the music industry, a bittersweet take on the struggles that come with pursuing a dream while also longing for the place you know best. “I was defeated and wanted nothing more than to be ‘somewhere’ back home and ‘nowhere’ in my career,” Gardner revealed. “Today, I write songs for my fans, my friends, and my family who pulled me through such a dark time. But that day… I wrote a song for me.”
In the stripped-down but striking offering, her voice is laced with emotion as she looks at everything fame is and isn’t.
“Sometimes I’d rather be // Catching fireflies than love bugs // Telling stories instead of lies // Skipping stones instead of getting stoned // To try to find some peace of mind // Hopping ditches instead of planes // Pulling wagons instead of these chains // Sometimes instead of keeping this up // I’d rather be somewhere, nowhere in Carolina”
For the 25-year-old, the release of the album is bittersweet, a culmination of hard work paired with heartbreak as her hometown of Burnsville was recently impacted by Hurricane Helene. “This is a bittersweet moment for me, I pictured it differently as I prepared and recorded these songs over the past several months,” Gardner revealed on social media of the track. “These songs tell my story— they are about where I grew up, my family, things I experienced. Now all I have are the memories and these songs which were written in Burnsville. I’m thankful for everyone who has been along with me for this journey— I can’t wait for you all to hear this music.”
The album’s title was inspired by an Instagram series of the same name, her voice and style remnant of early works from Kacey Musgraves as she blends country instrumentation with bluesy guitars and a uniquely soulful tone. This is endlessly apparent on tunes like “Lord Knows,” a swampy-infused slow burn that’s best suited for the confessional. Here, she’s dealing with her demons and desires to be better, wondering if she’ll ever get there.
“One Day” is a truly unique moment, lyrically grappling with “loving something that ain’t mine.” Here, she’s the other woman, in love but cast aside as she longs for someone bad for her, imploring him to “Tell me you don’t feel something, in all the moments we’ve had.”
Likewise, both “Cry” and the groove-laden “Cry Me a River” find her wishing an ex less than well, voice laced with palpable emotions. On the latter, her voice perfectly punctuates bluesy guitar riffs as the song builds to an epic climax, Gardner snarling, “I hope she leaves you, I hope she deceives you, I hope she breaks your heart, Like you broke mine, I hope she makes you cry.”
“Shadows of the Night” allows Gardner to flex her impressive range, while “Lady in the Sky” offers an ethereal and almost prayerful moment, as she begs the lady in the sky to “bring me a dream.”
Much like “Carolina,” both “Mountains and Miller” and “Letters to Home” find her tender for her hometown. On “Mountains,” she waxes nostalgic over picking guitars, longing for simpler days or bonfires, sunrises, and Miller Light, musing “I know this town like the back of my hand.” Meanwhile, “Letters” finds her assuring her parents that she’s doing just fine. It’s an incredibly powerful track and her voice breaks with emotion over acoustic guitars, imploring her parents to rest while she’s out on the road. “Letters to home,” She sings. “Say your baby girl is doing just fine.”
The LP ends with “Neon Notions,” a haunting and melodic declaration of growth and strength that wraps the collection perfectly. Gardner is incredibly vulnerable and transparent on the track, just as she is through the entire album, and listeners should be thankful for even a glimpse into A Songwriter’s Diary.
