Adam Doleac has been one of our favorite artists since we featured him in our very first LIVE Swag Session back in 2017. His charm, charisma, and songwriting-skills are one of a kind, which is something we appreciate about his talent. With a hit song already under his belt, Doleac releases another track that fits his vibe entitled “Meet Me in the City.”
The new jam is exactly what we have come to love from the rising artist. The singer-songwriter manages to always release songs that are appealing, sultry, and ones that have substance and content. “Meet Me in the City” is a flirty song about the potential for love and adventure with another person. It is whimsical and romantic while being heavily rooted with a steady drum production.
“Let’s do anything we ain’t ever done yet / Baby, I’ll give you a night that you’ll never forget / Meet me in the city where the sun don’t set / ‘Cause I can’t sleep when I dream about you / Wanna be the trouble that you get into”
On his Instagram, Doleac expresses his appreciation for writing the track with Sarah Buxton and Andy Skib, adding “This song is an adventure from start to finish. It is a windows-down, sun-racing, night-chasing kind of feeling.” We have to agree! Additionally, Buxton lent her vocals to the track too, giving it an even dreamier and more romantic feel.
It will be interesting to see what Doleac has up his sleeve next. We are hopeful for a full length-project.

Last month we introduced you to Sony Music Nashville’s newest signee, Drew Green in one of our Swag Spotlight features. Today, we present to you some brand new music by the singer-songwriter. He released his debut EP entitled Dirt Boy Vol. 1 and country fans are going to want to take a listen.
Each of the seven tracks are special and stand-out in their own way. The EP can be summed up in a few words: innovative, charming, and honest. Green finds a way to appeal to modern-day country fans, but still utilize guitar riffs, instrumentals, and story-telling lyrics that will appeal to traditional country music lovers.
The opening track “She Got That” is a bop. The song is full of swag and feels reminiscent of labelmate, Adam Doleac’s hit single “Famous.” Green unapologetically expresses his love for a special someone, dropping compliments throughout the verses. This track has radio written all over it.
“She got my heart, my soul, my back / She got my heart, my soul, my back / And whatever she wants/ Whatever she needs / Whatever it is / She’s gonna get it from me.”
The next song, “Woods,” is just as fun and funky. The track is a perfectly blended deliciousness of country-tradition with modern vibes, something Florida Georgia Line has always done well. The song feels familiar, yet unique, which is a combination you do not see very often. We especially love the unexpected banjo section midway through the song. The same vibe continues in the song “Dirty Money” too. On that track, Green relies on that rhythmic sing-talk voice, which adds to the innovation.
Of course, the singer proves his vocal chops with “Little More Be Alright,” a previously released song, and “Fine by Me.” We learned from our interview with Green that the former was inspired by a buddy from back home in a simple conversation about wanting something that you did not necessarily need. The conversation turned into a lyrically driven song and a much needed quiet spot on this project. On the other hand, “Fine by Me” is a killer, vocally-driven track. The song features vocal layers, which only adds to the ambiance and vibe of the alluring track.
“It ain’t nothin’, girl to turn it around, hit a u-turn / ‘Cuz you turn me on right now / Or we can keep driving around, girl / Whatever you want / So fine by me / Fine by me”
Finally, the record ends with the song that showcases Green’s urban influences. “Right Where I Be” is the perfect ending to a cohesive and exciting project. Just like an EP should, Dirty Boy Vol. 1 keeps fans excited for what’s to come for the newcomer.

Despite the chaos that 2020 has come to be there’s one artist who continues to provide for his fans; Luke Combs. If getting married, hosting livestreams, and releasing new music wasn’t enough to keep Combs busy during quarantine, the singer-songwriter also announced he will be dropping a deluxe version of his What You See Is What You Get album with the revised title, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get.
The deluxe album is set to release on October 23rd and will include five new tracks. While fans speculated over the past few weeks which songs the album would include, Combs took to social media and let fans in on a little secret; two of the five new songs have not yet been heard.
Today (Sept. 18), Combs surprised fans with the release of one of those new songs, “Without You” and revealed the deluxe album tracklist including the titles of the four additional new songs. Making the cut for the new album are: “Cold As You”, “The Other Guy”, “My Kinda Folk”, “Without You”, and “Forever After All”.

There is no one like Keith Urban in the music industry. For over twenty years, we have had the pleasure of watching Urban evolve as a musician, songwriter, and bonafide superstar. He continues to deliver music that is true to who he is in the moment, blending sounds across genres. His newest LP, THE SPEED OF NOW Part 1 marks the singer’s 11th full-length record, and it is Urban at his finest.
Each and every one of the sixteen tracks are cohesive, yet impactful individually. Although the production of each song may be different and genre-bending is evident, every song focuses on the importance of ‘now’ and ultimately not waiting to speak your truth. In the reflective, yet nostalgic tune, “Live With,” Urban explores the narrative that the goal is to live a life you love, rather than the life someone expects you to live. “We Were” of course, both the original track and the feature with writer, Eric Church, culminates this idea, affirming that our choices set us up for the rest of our lives.
Along with Church, Urban collaborates with funk/pop icon Nile Rodgers and Breland, as well as, megastar P!NK on the opening tracks. “Out The Cage” with Breland and Nile Rodgers is a funky, electronica track that begs fans to listen to it. The song is one that moves you solely based on production alone. However, the cut with P!NK, “One Too Many” is a vocally-driven ballad. The duet showcases how well the two singers’ voices blend together in a buttery and soulful jam.
“I spent all my money drinking on my own, yeah / In this bar just sat here, staring at my phone / And I keep second-guessing where did I go wrong / I know I’m proud, but I’ve had one too many- come take me home”
The bigger picture is apparent in songs like “Polaroid” and “Say Something.” The former captures the bittersweet passing of time through the lens of photographs. The instant-gratification track is all about making choices that are right for your life. The latter, which is arguably one of the most important on the record, “Say Something” is an unequivocal plea to human beings to speak your truth, to stand up for what you believe in, and use your voice as an action tool. In today’s day and age, this is even more crucial, and Urban is taking it upon himself to empower the voiceless.
“From track to track there’s a spirit I’m seeking to capture from beginning to end,” Urban shares about his record, “There’s a fluidity to these songs. It’s multi-dimensional and multi-faceted because truly we have more in common than different.”
The record continues to flow into songs with a simpler message. Love songs like “God Whispered Your Name” and “Ain’t Like A Woman” fit right into Urban’s wheelhouse, as an expression of true love is apparent in his relationship with his beautiful and successful wife, Nicole Kidman. Both of these songs, sonically, will appeal to long-time fans of Urban.
Of course with love, also comes heartbreak. “Superman” and “Change Your Mind” both perpetuate heartbreak in different ways. “Superman” is an upbeat tune that features sad lyrics. Reflecting on a broken relationship, where you felt on top of the world is bittersweet, and Urban expresses this effortlessly. On the other hand, “Change Your Mind” is a slow burn song. It expresses the dissolution of a relationship with brooding and self-deprecating lyrics, backed by just a simple guitar production.
“I was the problem, self-sabotaging / You had no option / You had to go when you had to go / And I couldn’t stop it / I was not willing to bend / You said it, again and again, / You need a heart that better fits you”
Overall this record is not going to appeal to one particular fan, it will appeal to the masses. There is a song for everyone on this project, but that is exactly what we have come to love from the superstar. He makes music for the soul, sets higher standards for himself, while ridding himself of any parameters or boundaries, and just creates. Good music is good music and Urban knows it.

In anticipation of the deluxe version of his sophomore record What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, out October 23rd, Combs surprised fans with the early release of one of the new songs. The widely-requested demo, “Without You” premiered today much to fans’ excitement.
The new tune is sentimental, honest, and highly personal. Several months ago, Combs premiered the song during a live show, explaining that he wrote the track for his parents, his wife, and his dedicated fans. An elevated version of “This One’s For You”, “Without You” is the ultimate expression of gratitude to all that have helped him get to this point in his career.
“I’d give it all up just to keep your love / but you wouldn’t let me because you care too much / about watching me watch my dreams all come true / When I’m up here on this stage, the spotlight’s on my face / But I see you / Sure it’s me behind this mic stand / and it’s me strumming this Gibson / And it’s me they love to give the credit to / But me don’t mean a thing without you”
The beautiful song also features famed singer-songwriter, Amanda Shires, playing the violin. Combs clearly appreciates the sacrifices his loved ones have made for him to have this life. The song is pure chills and if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably shed a tear or two. “Without You” is truly the epitome of Combs’ genius. Despite all of his success, he remains true to himself, true to his roots, and as humble as can be. He deserves all the success he has earned, and we are sure there is more on the horizon!
“Without You” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
Luke Combs – “Without You” Lyrics –
Dad sold every record he ever owned Floyd and Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones A lifetime of music gone just to get me through Mama always had her a second job Gone with the sun until six o’clock Whatever it took to get by she was gonna do Didn’t dawn on me back then but now I see Without them, I wouldn’t be me
When I’m up here on this stage The spotlight’s on my face But I see you Sure it’s me behind this mic stand It’s me strumming this Gibson It’s me they love to give the credit to But me don’t mean a thing without you
You make sacrifices every night and day Never hear the crowd scream your name But there’s a smile and a hand to hold when the show is through I’d give it all up just to keep your love But you wouldn’t let me ’cause you care too much About watching me watch my dreams all come true
When I’m up here on this stage The spotlight’s on my face But I see you Sure it’s me behind this mic stand It’s me strumming this Gibson It’s me they love to give the credit to But me don’t mean a thing without you
You worked overtime to buy those tickets The gas, the beer and the babysitters Just to spend one night with your baby at a country show Paid twenty damn dollars for a place to park Got in line early to grab your spot So you deserve every word, every line of your favorite tune
When I’m up here on this stage The spotlight’s on my face But I see you Sure it’s me behind this mic stand It’s me strumming this Gibson It’s me they love to give the credit to I’m just trying to give the credit where credit’s due Because me don’t mean a thing without you

The country community was long overdue for an award show, and finally, after a five-month delay, the ACM Award premiered on CBS. The show was presented a little differently this year. For the first time ever, the ACMs took place in Nashville from three separate iconic country music venues including the Ryman Auditorium, Bluebird Café, and where most of the events were held, the Grand Ole Opry House. Old Dominion and Luke Combs were among the big winners, as well as Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood who shared the most prestigious award of the night, Entertainer of the Year.
The program began with the five Entertainer of the Year nominees performing a snippet of one of their classic songs from one of the three hubs. From the Grand Ole Opry, Luke Bryan sang “Rain is a Good Thing,” and Eric Church performed “Drink in My Hand.” Google Earth then took us to the Bluebird Café, where Luke Combs performed “When It Rains It Pours.” From the Ryman, Thomas Rhett sang “It Goes Like This,” and finally, back at the Opry, Carrie Underwood sang “Before He Cheats.”
At the Grand Ole Opry, host Keith Urban kicked off the show with a moving monologue in front of the empty stands regarding all the wrong that is going on in the world right now, from tropical storms and hurricanes, wildfires, social injustice, and of course, the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are still in the midst of trying to fight two pandemics, COVID-19 and social injustice—far too many lives have been lost to both,” the defending ACM Entertainer of the Year explained. “But the examples set by our essentials workers and first responders, along with the voices crying out for equality in all walks of life have echoed around the world and right here in our country music community. They inspire us to come together and work together to address these challenges.”
The first full performance was by Jimmie Allen at the Bluebird, singing his hit song, “Make Me Want To.” Old Dominion followed from the Ryman performing a fun melody of all their biggest hits over the years from their three studio albums. Old Dominion had a big night, winning the Song of the Year (for songwriting) with their number one hit, “One Man Band,” and taking home their third straight Group of the Year award. Front-man, Matt Ramsey gave an emotional speech after winning Song of the Year.
“This is not what I thought I’d say but we’re sitting here in this empty room and I can hear Andrew, our friend that passed away, I can hear him saying ‘I know who you are!’ like he used to yell that at us; and I can feel your dad, Josh, smiling; I can feel how proud he is right now. I can feel your brother [pointing at bandmate, Trevor Rosen], I can feel him; I can feel them all and they’re so proud.”
Fittingly so, Miranda Lambert performed an acoustic version of her most recent number one song, “Bluebird” at Bluebird Café with the track’s songwriters, Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby. Lambert, along with her friends, Maren Morris, Tenille Townes, Ashley McBryde, Elle King and Caylee Hammack, took home the award for Vocal Event of Year for their rendition of Elvin Bishop’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.” This is Lambert’s 35th ACM award, continuing her streak with the most ACM wins in the awards show history.
Many artists performed happy, feel-good tunes last night to lift the viewers’ spirits during this dark time. These included Luke Bryan, who performed his latest number one hit, “One Margarita” with beach visuals backing him and his band; Kelsea Ballerini, who gave her current pop-country single, “Hole in the Bottle” a classic country twist; Thomas Rhett and Jon Pardi, who showcased their sweet dance moves during their performance of their number one song, “Beer Can’t Fix;” and Florida Georgia Line, who performed their 17th number one single, “I Love My Country.” Tyler Hubbard, who injured his leg in a dirt bike accident last month, was on stage wearing a cast and using his rehabilitation scooter as a mic stand. Urban joked with him after the performance, commenting “FGL! Killing it. Rock n’ Roll, Tyler.” We wish him a full recovery and best of luck to the Hubbard family who are expecting baby number three very shortly!
On the contrary, many artists’ performances pulled at the heartstrings last night, such as Kane Brown’s unifying song, “Worldwide Beautiful.” While he was on stage with his band, singers of all races backed him from the balcony at the Grand Ole Opry, spread out six feet apart, of course. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed their romantic tune, “Happy Anywhere” from a virtual Bluebird Café set and from the actual Bluebird Café, 18-time ACM Award winner, Tim McGraw performed the sentimental single off his new record, Here on Earth, “I Called Mama.” Mickey Guyton sang her eye-opening track, “What Are Gonna Tell Her,” questioning the truth behind women’s equality with Urban on piano, and the 2020 ACM Male Artist of the Year, Luke Combs sang a ballad off his now ACM Award Winning Album, What You See Is What You Get, “Better Together.” Combs partnered with Ford to help war veterans cope with PTSD through music by teaching them guitar. Be a part of this effort by visiting fordproudtohonor.com.
The New Artists of Year, Riley Green and Tenille Townes, got their ACM debuts with performances from the Ryman of “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Somebody’s Daughter,” respectively. Another breakout female star, Gabby Barrett followed Townes, with an acoustic performance of her smash hit, “I Hope.”
Speaking of debuts, 2020 ACM Duo of the Year, Dan + Shay performed their newest song, “I Should Probably Go To Bed” from the Grand Ole Opry; Urban, along with pop-star Pink, performed their brand new song, “One Too Many” together from alternate locations; Eric Church combined Johnny Cash’s “Ragged Old Flag” with his new and powerful anthem, “Stick That In Your Country Song;” and 2020 ACM Female Artist of the Year, Maren Morris performed her new song, “To Hell & Back.” Morris had this to say upon accepting her award:
“This is so weird talking to no one but I have so many people to thank…this is an award I never thought I would get to win, so thank you to the voters, thank you to my beautiful husband and my new baby boy, Hayes, who is definitely asleep right now; I hope…Oh my God, I have to pee…”
Other special performances included Morgan Wallen, who sang “Whiskey Glasses” from the Grand Ole Opry stage with help from several fans on Zoom behind him; Carrie Underwood who performed a medley of hits from female country icons, including Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Patsy Cline, and Martina McBride; Trisha Yearwood, who sang “I’ll Carry You Home” in honor of all the members of the country community who passed away this year; and Taylor Swift…yes, Taylor Swift who was back at the ACMs for the first time in seven years, performing her latest single, “betty”.
Because it is 2020, anything can happen, including two artists winning Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards – Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett. This is Underwood’s third Entertainer of the Year award; first since 2010, and Rhett’s first. This is also the first time the award has been shared by two artists, but it’s safe to say both were very deserving.
Other awards that were given out included Video of the Year to Thomas Rhett and director, TK McKammy for the heart-wrenching “Remember You Young” music video; Songwriter of the Year to Hillary Lindsey; and Single of the Year to Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country”.
As the credits rolled, the show ended with Willie Nelson’s video for “On the Road Again” featuring all the New Artist of the Year nominees.
