New York Country Swag hosted a Swag Session with ACM winner Rodney Atkins. The singer-songwriter is in New York promoting his brand new album Caught Up In The Country and sang the title track and one of his fan favorites, “Take A Back Road” for us during our Swag Session.

Atkins also talked about the process of putting out an album 7 years after his last release as well as how he knew he wanted to cut both major love songs that are featured on the record. He even told us the name of his son that he and his wife are getting ready to welcome later this summer.

Swag Sessions Featuring Lauren Jenkins

New York Country Swag hosted a Swag Session with Big Machine Label Group’s singer-songwriter Lauren Jenkins. Jenkins most recently released her album No Saint as well as a short film that she coproduced and stars in, Running Out Of Road.

Jenkins explained her process of writing, recording, co-producing and starring in her short film as well as creating her debut album.

Swag Sessions Featuring Adam Craig

New York Country Swag hosted a Swag Session with Broken Bow recording artist Adam Craig at the Boogie Room at The Mondrian Park Avenue Hotel. Craig just finished his radio tour around the country and last month released two brand new songs which he performed for us, “Whatever You’re Drinking To” and “If You’re Lucky”.  The latter hit the country radio airwaves just yesterday.

After performing both songs, Craig sat with our Managing Editor Christina to chat about the single, and why he knew even though he didn’t write it, he had to cut it. They also talked about his upcoming plans for this summer.

Swag Sessions Featuring LOCASH

New York Country Swag hosted a Swag Session with country music duo, LOCASH. Chris Lucas, hailing from Baltimore, Maryland and Preston Brust of Kokomo, Indiana have been together, releasing music for almost a decade.  On the heels of signing with a new record label, Broken Bow Records, Lucas and Preston joined New York Country Swag to promote their brand new album, Brothers, which will be available this Friday (3/29). New York Country Swag hosted a LIVE Swag Session with St. Louis native Renee Blair who now resides in Nashville pursuing her career as singer and songwriter. We first met Blair when we interviewed her for our Swag Spotlight series, read the full interview here.  Signed to SMACK Songs for publishing and producing, her latest single “Me Tonight” has been added to major playlists and is catching the ear of a ton of new fans. Blair first debuted a brand new song “Better Off” before singing the current single.  She also took time to chat with Christina our Managing Editor about growing up listening to Nelly and the incredible songwriters she gets to work with on a daily basis.

Swag Sessions: Featuring Cody Johnson

For over ten years singer-songwriter Cody Johnson has built his fan base across the country and has had one of the most successful independent artist careers, selling out arenas and releasing incredible music.  In 2018 he signed with Warner Music Nashville and is gearing up for the release of his very first major label studio album, Ain’t Nothin’ To It out this Friday.  Just before hitting up the Today Show for his debut performance, Johnson joined New York Country Swag to perform his latest single and a song from the new album.  He also explained to our Managing Editor, Christina why he decided to sign with Warner and what fans can expect from this new album.

The Mercury Nashville recording artist sang two songs for our followers including his debut Top 40 single “David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs” as well as an unreleased track “Good Years” from his forthcoming debut album.

Swag Sessions: Featuring Maggie Rose

Maggie Rose, one of the most talented vocalists in Nashville stopped by New York Country Swag to perform a few songs before her headlining set at Rockwood Music Hall in downtown New York City. Her album Change The Whole Thing was released in September and she sang two songs from the album for our followers including the title track and the touching love song “Pull You Through”.

During the Q&A after her performance, Rose took time to discuss recording the album in just one take with her incredible band, the meaning behind “Pull You Through” and the viral moment when Karen Fairchild named her in her list of women in Nashville not being represented during her acceptance speech at the CMT Artists of the Year Event.
