Here Are All of Kane Brown’s Number One Songs in His Catalog

Here are all of Kane Brown’s number one songs on country radio in his music catalog. The singer-songwriter has eleven number ones to his name.

We love reminiscing about all the great country music to hit country radio over the last few years. In this series, we’re looking back on the songs that made it to the top of the country airplay charts. Today, we’re highlighting songs in Kane Brown’s career that hit the number one spot.

“What Ifs” – Kane Brown

Brown’s third single was the first to top the charts for the young, rising star. The song features his friend and former classmate, Lauren Alaina. The two singers contemplate what their lives would be like if one of them made a move and initiated a relationship. This duet also reached the top spot on the Billboard Country chart as well.

Heaven”- Kane Brown

This song was featured on the deluxe version of his debut album. Brown reflects on his relationship and the afterlife, doubting that Heaven will outdo the magic and simplicity of lying in bed with the love of your life.

“Lose It”Experiment

This song was the lead single for Brown’s sophomore album. Brown mentions all the things he wants to lose—his cell phone, the directions to the party, the bobby pins holding up his girl’s hair, and the dress she is wearing—so that he and she could “lose it.” The pop-influenced production on this track uniquely blended with the fiddle, setting up the “experimental” music phase Brown was about to enter.

“Good As You” – Experiment

In this track, Brown simply sings about how great his wife is and how he strives to be as good as her one day. The music video, however, suggests this is an ode to his guardians, specifically his grandmother, who cared for him when he was young.

“Homesick” – Experiment

In the final single off his sophomore album, Brown discusses his quick rise to fame and how hard it is being away from his wife while on the road. Like “Good As You,” the message is different than what the lyrics indicate. In the music video and at his live shows, he dedicates this song to all the soldiers who have been away from home for years while serving our country.

“Famous Friends” (with Chris Young) – Famous Friends

Brown hopped on his good friend, Chris Young’s single about small-town fame. The song highlights individuals that are extremely popular in their hometown—the high school quarterback, the sheriff, the preacher, etc.—but people on the outside would have never heard of. This fun, upbeat song hit number one in July of 2021, and is still used predominately on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” as the background song before they go to commercial.

“One Mississippi”- Different Man

This song is about a couple that is having trouble officially ending their relationship. It seems as though every time one of them goes out and gets a little drunk, they wind up back in each other’s arms by the end of the night.

“Like I Love Country Music” – Different Man

One of Brown’s most “country” songs to date serves as the second single off his latest album. In this upbeat jam, he compares his love for his girl to his love for country music, referencing legends in the genre such as Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Johnny Cash, and Brooks & Dunn. The music video takes place in a honkytonk with Brown leading the group of line dancers.

“Thank God” – Different Man, 2023

Brown has had many different artists join his songs in the past, but this feature is a little more special. His wife, Katelyn, makes her radio debut as the two thank a higher power for bringing them together.

“Bury Me In Georgia” – Different Man

A true ode to his home state, Brown’s single “Bury Me in Georgia,” climbed the country charts fast. While the song is about where he wants his final resting place to be, it reads like a love note to his home state. Much like his love for his fanbase, the entertainer also has a great appreciation for the state that raised him.

“I Can Feel It” – (Unreleased 4th album)

Kane Brown scores his eleventh number one single with this lead single off his upcoming fourth studio album. The song is the perfect blend of country overtones mixed with a fun, pop-tempo beat, making it a perfect hit for Brown.

**“One Thing Right” with Marshmello

This EDM collaboration with Marshmello never topped Country radio, but hit number one on the Billboard Country charts.

Madeline Consoer: ‘LITTLE MISS’ – EP Review

Madeline Consoer’s EP, LITTLE MISS, is out now, December 16th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand-new project below and check out our full review.

Earlier this year, we introduced you to singer-songwriter, Madeline Consoer. The sassy songstress is both talented and tenacious, creating music her fans can relate to. Today, Consoer is kicking off her new era of music with her brand new EP, LITTLE MISS.

The five-song sampler kicks off with the title track, “Little Miss.” Consoer digs her heels in, as she sings about the two-faced Nashville girls that she has encountered throughout her career. Every girl can relate to those wishy-washy friends and those mean girls.

“Little Miss two-faced // Why you love to hate me? // Told me we were cool // But I guess that it was all fake // Heard you called me crazy // To everyone that ain’t me // If you got a problem honey // Comе say it to my face // Little Miss two-faced”

Consoer keeps the energy up with the next song on the record. “Running Into A Heartbreak” is an infectious, pop-country song all about dealing with one heartbreak after another. Despite thinking this guy was the right one, it still just did not work. Her honesty and vulnerability is on full display on this track.

On “Heaven,” the songstress shows off her sweet and sentimental side. Similarly on the ballad, “Love Me Like That,” Consoer bares her soul and her heart, expressing how it feels to be loved despite her flaws. The song is a true stand-out on the EP.

The record culminates with the fifth and final track on the record, “Drinking To You.” Another standout, the track feels confident and relatable, despite the lyrical content. Overall, LITTLE MISS is a great re-introduction to Consoer’s rising talent.

Ernest Shares Three New Songs Ahead of Deluxe Album

Ernest shares news of a deluxe album along with three new songs, “Miss That Girl, “Songs We Used To Sing,” and “Unhang The Moon,” out now, December 16th, on all streaming platforms. Listen below.

Throughout his young career, Ernest has clearly established that he has what it takes to rise to superstardom. The accomplished songwriter’s venture into solo artistry has been well-received by fans and industry alike. Ahead of the deluxe version of his album FLOWER SHOPS (THE ALBUM): Two Dozen Roses, Ernest is sharing three new songs.

Amongst the three new songs are “Miss That Girl,” “Songs We Used To Sing,” and “Unhang The Moon.” Throughout all three of the tracks, fans get a taste of the more melancholy and pensive side of the entertainer. Similar to the vibes of the single Flower Shops, Ernest leans into sharing his heart on each of the three tracks.

On “Miss That Girl,” he shares how hard it is to move on and admit how much you miss someone. “Songs We Used To Sing” leans into the nostalgia of it all. The slightly-heavier song expresses heartache in an even deeper way. Finally, “Unhang The Moon” is the ultimate heartbreak song. It seems the three songs all tell a similar story, as Ernest seems to access more and more emotions with his vocals.

The three songs, along with ten new songs will round out the upcoming deluxe album. In total, Flower Shops (The Album): Two Dozen Roses will feature 24 songs. Fans can expect its release on February 10th.

Who Is Jessica Willis Fisher? The Story Behind Her Journey to Country Music

Who is Jessica Willis Fisher? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

Jessica-Willis-fisher

Quick Facts:

Full Name – Jessica Willis Fisher
Birthday – April 13th
Hometown – Chicago, Illinois
Current City – Nashville, Tennessee
Musical Influences – Alis0n Krauss, Nickel Creek, The Corrs, Enya, Solas
Label – Bard Craft Records
Current Project- “Tennessee Christmas” (*as of date of article: 12/12/22)

The Beginning:

In our weekly spotlight series, we carefully choose artists for this segment that we believe have all the talent and a story to tell. Today’s artist, Jessica Willis Fisher definitely has both. While you may recognize her name by her television notoriety, Fisher is more than meets the eye. The talented singer-songwriter and author opened up to us about her journey thus far and where she is headed.

“Music was a huge part of my childhood. I was born in Chicago, the Southside of Chicago and first music was introduced through church,” began the songstress. “I was about 7, 8, 9, when my parents got me into Irish dance […] We were home-schooled, so we were looking for something that was artistic. […] We fell in love with that, and as an extension of that, we found music.”

As the oldest of twelve kids, Fisher always looked for ways to connect through music. “I started playing the fiddle when I was about eight,” she shared, adding later, “Music was a therapy and a way to connect with others and the things I was going through.”

After a tragedy in her life, her family moved to Nashville; however, it was not necessarily to perform music. “We moved to the Nashville area, and because we were homeschooled, a lot of our dreaming and hoping came off the radar of music city.” The city helped transform her love of Irish music into a love for Bluegrass music too. She recalls loving artists like The Corrs and Alis0n Krauss.

The Turning Point:

Despite what the media might have presented, Fisher grew up in an abusive home, which she later wrote about in her book, Unspeakable: Surviving My Childhood and Finding My Voice.

“It was some of the best times in my life and also the hardest. I was 24 years old when I tried to get out of the only environment I had ever known. I walked away from music, from my family, all of those things.”

In 2019, Fisher began to take her life back, one piece at a time. According to the artist “Starting in 2019, but really this year [2022], I started reclaiming my voice and asserting my story.”

Back in April 2022, Fisher released her debut album called Brand New DayThe ten song project marked the first time that the singer-songwriter had stepped out into the limelight as her own artist. Writing all but two songs on the record, it was important to Fisher that she share her truth with the world, no matter who heard it.

‘Brand New Day’ is the name of my album and my understanding of that is that every day gets to be a brand new day. […] We get to navigate life through hope and possibility, the energy that can be in every day while navigating sometimes, quite a complex road.”

Similarly, her memoir was the first time she truly got to shed her trauma and let the world see her for who she really is. “I feel both the music and the book if no one ever heard them, it is still a victory for me […] These are songs that I needed to hear and/or write. The book was born directly out of doing the actual work of trying to make sense as a human being of what I went through,” she shared.

Today:

While her book and debut album are recent accomplishments, Fisher shows no signs of slowing down. The singer-songwriter has released a few Christmas songs to celebrate the holidays with fans. Most recently, her cover of “Tennessee Christmas” showcases her beautiful vocals.

“‘Tennessee Christmas’ is a very special meaning, loving this as my home state. […] I’ve explored so much of Tennessee with my husband and we went to a Christmas Tree farm and we took some pictures, which was so fun.”

She added later, “I’m returning to music […] I’m doing Christmas music differently than I would have growing up. […] I have always loved “Don’t’ Save It All For Christmas Day,” and if you’re going to put a song out this far ahead of Christmas, it felt like the right one.”

For Fisher, there is so much more to come and clarity is also coming. She hopes to write more books, but she knows that there will be more music. “I feel like I’m only an artist and a performer because I write […] I want to be saying something with my music.” She ended our interview eloquently sharing, “clarity is coming from what my next endeavors may be,” hinting that we will be hearing much more from Fisher sooner rather than later.

Luke Bryan Scores Number One with Song “Country On”

Luke Bryan scores his 30th number one song at country radio this week with single, “Country On.” Learn all the details here.

A mainstay in country music, Luke Bryan truly knows no bounds. His infectious personality and catchy songs have had country music fans celebrating his music for well over a decade. His most recent single, “Country On” marks his 30th number one song at country radio.

Bryan debuted the song back in July, which shows just how quickly the song catapulted up the charts. Written by David Frasier, Mark Nesler, Mitch Oglesby, and Styles Haury, the song is all about uniting Americans. It is as patriotic and anthemic as it can get, without coming across too cheesy or lacking substance. The song is the perfect song to remind fans across the world that we are all one, no matter our differences.

“Hey cowboy, keep slingin’ that rope // Eatin’ that dirt, wearing that gold // Break a leg rodeo, but just don’t break no bones // Country on // Hey barkeep, how ’bout another round? // Keep the neon lit in this crazy town // Just pour a little more // Country on”

In a world that often feels so divisive, it is nice that Bryan can continue to connect people through music. Music has always been the ultimate healer. “Country On” is one of those songs that can be medicine. Congrats to Bryan and his team on another incredible number one!

I only talk to God when I need a favor // And I only pray when I ain’t got a prayer // So, who the hell am I, who the hell am I // To expect a Savior o-o-oh // If I only talk to God when I need a favor // God I need a favor

Why Do So Many Country Artists Support St. Jude?

As a country music fan, year after year, it’s almost certain that you’ve found your favorite country music artists supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Whether through benefit concerts, posts on social media, or rocking the ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ tee, it’s pretty clear that St. Jude holds a very special place in the country music community.

While the answer may seem obvious by brief definition alone, — St. Jude leads the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. To learn even more, Country Swag took a visit to St. Jude during the annual ‘Country Cares Seminar’ this fall.

Launched more than 30 years ago, Randy Owen from the band Alabama stood up during Nashville’s Annual Country Radio Seminar and asked his friends, colleagues, and radio partners to join together to help St. Jude and the children they serve, and so, the ‘Country Cares Seminar’ was born. The program unites more than 200 radio stations, influencers, and dozens of country music artists annually to raise awareness and support for St. Jude.

During the seminar, all guests are invited to tour St. Jude, located in Memphis, Tennessee, and see firsthand the inspirational work that the teams at St. Jude are doing. Upon the first introduction, guests learn about the organization and what exactly makes it so impactful and so special. Perhaps the most remarkable part is that thanks to very generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Families receive the best care in the world, at no cost, making the worst and darkest days of their lives a little bit brighter – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

In addition, St Jude’s research facility and labs are open 24/7 and freely share their findings, protocols, and breakthroughs, so that every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of more children.

Thanks to generous donations, the brilliant teams at St. Jude have access to equipment that costs millions and millions of dollars, which just not all doctors and scientists everywhere have access to. This not only gives them the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation, but they are able to share their discoveries and patients everywhere are getting treatments that were started at St. Jude. Consequently, when you’re donating to St. Jude, you’re not just donating to one hospital in one city, you’re funding the source and if speaking to cancer patients around the world, a common thread may be that many have been treated by protocols that have been sourced by St. Jude. St. Jude is actively working towards a world where no family ever has to hear the words “you have cancer”.

Seeing the work, hearing stories from doctors and patients alike, and understanding the experiences at St. Jude make it easy to recognize the importance of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and instantly inspires guests to get involved and help raise awareness. Next time you see your favorite artists talking about and supporting St. Jude it’s likely because they were able to have these experiences too and see firsthand the amazing work done at St. Jude.

Words like “inspiring”, “joy”, “positivity” and “healing” are just some of the many terms that came to mind for country artists like Breland, Kameron Marlowe, and Randy Owen, during their recent visit to St. Jude, as seen in the video above.

There are great research institutions, great hospitals, and great charities. St. Jude is all three. You can join the cause and help support St. Jude and the incredible initiative set forth by many country artists and celebrities alike with the ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ t-shirt. For a monthly donation of just $19, you get the exclusive tee and all funds directly support the incredible St. Jude organization.

It costs over a million dollars daily to operate St. Jude each and every day. Donations allow St. Jude to continue to help children everywhere.

Join us and many of your favorite country artists like Carly Pearce, Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley, and Kelsea Ballerini, and help save lives.

Who Is John Morgan? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who is John Morgan? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about his journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

who-is-john-morgan

John Morgan // Photo by Justin Mrusek

Quick Facts:

Full Name – John Morgan
Birthdate – 08/08/1995
Hometown – Sylva, North Carolina
Current City – Nashville, Tennessee
Musical Influences – Keith Whitley, Ronnie Milsap, John Mayer
Current Single – “Friends Like That” (*as of date of article: 12/5/2022)

The Beginning:

Today’s spotlight is shining on an artist that is the full package. John Morgan is a singer, songwriter, and artist in his own right. We predict that 2023 is going to be a huge year for the entertainer; however, you can start becoming a huge fan now. We know we are!

Morgan grew up in western North Carolina surrounded by music, with his roots firmly planted in bluegrass. “I grew up playing bluegrass and that’s how I learned how to play guitar and learned how to sing, and do all that,” began the singer. “I started doing that when I was ten years old, and we would travel around and play bluegrass festivals all over the country.”

At eighteen years old, the entertainer quit the bluegrass circuit in favor of working outside of music, while simultaneously focusing on growing his songwriting skills. “I started writing my own songs […] It was kind of an easy transition for me to switch over to country music.” Morgan likens the trajectory of his switch from bluegrass to country music to one of his favorite artists, Keith Whitley. “Keith Whitley is one of my biggest influences even to this day.”

“I love my hometown where I grew up. I’ve never really envisioned myself leaving there, which is why when I quit playing bluegrass there, for two years, I didn’t do anything, I was focused on my job at the time. At that moment, I didn’t think that I would pursue music full-time.” Eventually, through trips to Nashville, Morgan caught the bug again.

“When I started making trips down here to Nashville, I really learned how much I loved songwriting and so that’s kind of where I cut my teeth and was digging into that aspect of music really trying to better myself as a songwriter first. I knew I could hold my own on guitar and sing good enough at the time, but I was just missing that triple threat.”

The Turning Point:

Just a few years ago, Morgan made the decision to move to Nashville to pursue songwriting and his dream full-time. “I moved to Nashville a little over three years ago now […] I got in with Jason Aldean’s camp through an Uber driver, which is a weird crazy story. I started writing songs with those guys and that’s kind of where I’m at currently.”

While Morgan feels fortunate to have had cuts on Aldean’s latest album, eight in fact, including the number one hits – “Trouble with a Heartbreak” and “If I Didn’t Love You” ft. Carrie Underwood, Morgan believes that his work ethic has helped him throughout his journey thus far. “When I finally moved to Nashville, and got to town and realized there were a million other people trying to do the same thing I’m doing, it makes you kind of level up.” Adding later, “Songwriting gave me enough confidence to drop everything that I was doing to pursue it full-time.”

Morgan continued to grind, getting into as many writers’ rooms as he could. “Even as an unsigned writer, I was writing with people who were also writing with people who have written hit songs and at least knew the layout of this is what a hit song requires formula-wise.”

Despite his early success as a songwriter, Morgan yearned to be an artist in his own right. His friend and fellow producer Will Bundy encouraged him to hone his skills as a songwriter and as a producer while working towards his dream.

“He just encouraged me and was like “dude I know you want to be an artist, I know you want to write songs, but this is working for me, and I feel like you have a good enough ear to do this too, at least get an ear with a publishing company”,” adding later, “I shadowed him for a couple of weeks to learn how to build a simple demo for a song after you write it. That in itself allowed me to get into bigger rooms.”

Today:

Flash forward to today, Morgan is a signed artist with new music coming down the pipeline early next year. Already, the singer’s newest song, “Friends Like That” is making waves amongst country music fans and the industry. According to the singer, “‘Friends Like That’ was a song we wrote almost a year ago, it was one of those songs that was such a feel-good song. Will Bundy produced the demo for it. All of the elements came together for this song.”

While Morgan is attracted to and loves to write more sentimental songs, “Friends Like That” showcases a side of his artistry that fans get to see and hear for the first time. “It was just a cool idea from the beginning and we just kind of ran with it. It was really a song that I needed for me as an artist. I tend to write more nostalgic, more serious heartbreak songs I guess, and this was more of a feel-good, fun, I’m getting over you the way you want to kind of song. […] It kind of gives you a different side of who I am as an artist too.”

As a songwriter, Morgan will continue to pull from his own experiences, while relying on his supportive team in the process. Next year is already shaping up to be the year of John Morgan – new songs are currently being recorded and at least one new single is sure to come out in January. Make sure you pay attention and keep Morgan on your radar!
