Jordan Davis earns his sixth number-one song at country radio this week with his single, “Next Thing You Know.” Learn all the details here.
As soon as we heard Jordan Davis sing “Next Thing You Know,” we knew it was going to be a hit. Recently, the singer-songwriter secured his fourth and fifth number ones at country radio with “What My World Spins Around” and “Buy Dirt.” Today, Davis adds to that list with “Next Thing You Know,” marking his sixth number one at country radio.
Davis’ single is country music at its absolute best. “Next Thing You Know” is a song about the journey through love and life. It perfectly complements “Buy Dirt,” and many of the singer’s other heartfelt songs. It was just a matter of time before the song found its way to the top of the country charts.
“Next thing you know // You’re savin’ money like never before // Just to spend it all at a jewelry store // Gettin’ down on one knee on her mama’s porch // Just prayin’ she don’t say, “No” // Next thing you know // Your best man gives a half-drunk speech // And you’re sunburned on a honeymoon beach // And your left hand’s gettin’ used to that ring // And there the next two or three years go // Next thing you know”
Congrats to Jordan Davis and his team on his sixth number one at country radio!

Ashley Cooke drops three new songs, including, “mean girl,” “shot in the dark,” and “tastes like,” out now on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new tracks below.
Superstar in the making, Ashley Cooke just shared some exciting news with her fans! Cooke’s debut album, Shot In The Dark is officially dropping on July 21st, featuring 24 brand new songs. In celebration of the news, the singer-songwriter is sharing three new songs with fans including a collaboration with Colbie Caillat called, “mean girl,” the title track, and a song called, “tastes like.”
In a recent press release, Cooke shared, “It’s been full of bucket list moments for me… I made my Opry debut, signed my first deals, went on tours with my heroes, and lived a lot of life in the moments in between. This album is about all of that — and it’s about the magic that can come if you really take risks in life and love.”
The first new song released today is one of the few collaborations on Cooke’s upcoming record. “mean girl” featuring Colbie Caillat is a beautiful reminder of the power of sisterhood. While the song is melancholy in nature, it is a reminder to the girlfriend of your ex to pay attention to the signs in the relationship. Heartbreaking, yet beautiful, “mean girl” is one of Cooke’s best songs to date. Cooke and Caillat are truly the pair we never knew we always needed!
“Where there’s some, there’s always a fire // and he’s got the lighter // this ain’t me being mean girl // I just hate to see a good heart hanging on as string, girl // It sure looks a. Lot like love, but what you don’t see, girl // is all those cards slid so far up his sleeve, girl // when he says you’re the only one take it from me // it’s just another thing // that he doesn’t mean, girl”
As for the title track, “shot in the dark,” Cooke leans deeper into her songwriting prowess. “shot in the dark” depicts what it is like to find a love interest in the bar and feeling the rush of a first kiss. The song feels hopeful and alluring.
Finally, “tastes like” is a fun, party song. While Cooke is known for her personal lyrics, Cooke’s entertainer-side is on full display on this track. “tastes like” is a cheeky, summer-ready tune that is sure to get a lot of playing time during the singer-songwriter’s live shows this summer.
These three songs are proving that Cooke’s album is one to look out for. She is truly on the brink of superstardom, so if you are not yet a fan, now is the time to jump on the bandwagon!

Jake Owen shares new album, Loose Cannon, out now, June 23rd on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new record below.
With his unique beachy take on country music, Jake Owen is back with his seventh studio album, Loose Cannon, out now. Produced by Joey Moi, the sixteen track collection features Owen’s classic breezy sound mixed with clever lyrics and heartfelt ballads.
Coming over four years since his last full-length release, Greetings From…Jake, which featured hits like “I Was Jack (You Were Diane),” “Made for You,” and “Down to the Honkytonk,” the Florida native is back with another collection of future chart toppers. With Loose Cannon, Owen is poised to reclaim his unofficial role as summer’s surefire hitmaker, enlisting co-writers that include Devin Dawson, Jordan Davis, Walker Hayes, Brent Cobb, Ashley Gorley, and more.
“I can’t wait to share this new wave of music with my fans,” shared Owen in a statement. “This album is a long time coming and feels like the best version of me. Grab your buddies, put the boat in the water, pour a cold one out, and we’ll catch y’all out on the lake. It’s the best time of year and we’re ready to celebrate.”
Out of the gate, there’s the album’s first single, “On the Boat Again,” which sounds immediately familiar thanks to its reinterpretation of the Willie Nelson classic, “On the Road Again,” while still managing to put a new spin on it. With its airy production, it’s an immediate anthem for long days on the water.
Nostalgia weaves its way through much of Loose Cannon, echoing through songs like “Boy in the Chevrolet,” “The Ending,” and “Hot Truck Beer.” “Boy in the Chevrolet” reads much like a letter to his younger self, while “Hot Truck Beer” is a breezy look at the simplicities of life at seventeen, recalling hot nights and hot beer enjoyed in a truck.
“Smoking something from the center console // Drinking too early by a couple years // Alabama pumping out the Alpines Kool cigarettes and hot truck beer // Mama’s tears and daddy’s tough love // We knew better but we didn’t care // Didn’t have it all but it was close enough // ‘Cause of Kool cigarettes and hot truck beer”
“Friends Don’t Let Friends” and “Nothing” are immediate standouts; the former a classic country friendship drinking song as the superstar pulls up a barstool beside a struggling friend, musing “You ain’t on your own, and I ain’t going home, friends don’t let friends drink alone.” Meanwhile, “Nothing” is a toe-tapping ode to kicking back and relaxing, punctuated with catchy “nope, nope”s paired with the classic and immediately recognizable whistled theme song from The Andy Griffith Show.
“Nothin’ goin’ on all day long // Got a whole lotta nothin’ to do // I’m flippin’ that sign on the door of my life // Sayin’ I’ll be back in a few // Yeah, don’t get many days I get to kick it like Jimmy Buffet // But when I do, to tell you the truth, man, I lovе it”
“It Don’t, He Won’t and You Do” and “Hope Less” are two of the album’s strongest ballads, with the former being one of the more traditional country tracks, a classic broken down, broken hearted country ballad laden with slide guitars. Meanwhile, “Hope Less” is a stirring ballad that finds him questioning someone who is trying to change who he is at his core. “You want to settle me down, why baby why?” He asks. “Now everything you want to change, ain’t that what made you fall in love with me?”
“Solo, Solo,” “Go Getter,” and “Somewhere South with Rum” are tongue-in-cheek heartbreak anthems, laced with humor and a hint of lime as Owen kicks back with a drink to move on. On “Solo, Solo,” the clever lyrics find him “sippin’ on a Solo, solo” as he muses “It’s just me, myself, and this drink Kinda ironic, don’t you think?”
“Hearts and Habits” and “When It All Shakes Out” find Owen experimenting with different sounds, the former finds him falling prey to a “cowboy killer” in the form of a 5 ‘5’’ woman with brown eyes, who’s bound to “do some damage.” Meanwhile, “When It All Shakes Out” is introspective yet anthemic, twangy guitar resonating over a staccato chorus that’s sure to provide an exciting live moment that finds him pondering “Can you shake the hand of the man you’re gonna be when it all shakes out?”
“Hey Can I Buy You a Beer” is a sentimental love song that has Owen musing how far a relationship has come from where it started. “We caught lightning in a Miller lite can, call it good timing or the good Lord’s plan, Ain’t it crazy how we got here? // From a look my way to a ‘Hey can I buy you a beer?’”
The album ends with the title track, a poignant and slow build of a love ballad that finds Owen celebrating the fact that opposites attract. “We’ll walk together, hand in hand, a good hearted woman and a hard headed man // As long as you’re my anchor, baby,” He croons, his voice heavy and rich with emotion. “I’ll be your loose cannon.”
While Loose Cannon may be Jake Owen’s seventh full length album, there’s no sign of staleness or boredom here. In fact, he sounds better than ever, continuing to stay true to what has made him a superstar while also trying new things. Here, he continues to do what he does best, mixing breezy summer anthems with clever country lyrics and heartfelt ballads.

Earlier this year, Old Dominion surprised fans with a four-song sampler of their upcoming project Memory Lane. Today, the band is releasing the full EP for the project. Memory Lane EP features three new songs and five previously released songs, making it eight songs in total.
The record kicks if with previously released tracks. “If I Should Have Married You” and “Memory Lane.” Both songs express nostalgia in their own ways. While the former is tells the age-old story of the one that got away, the latter, embodies reminisces about the days of feeling like you were in paradise. “Memory Lane” is one of those songs that will go down as a crowd-favorite for Old Dominion.
Next up, “Some Horses” display a more melancholy version of the bandmates. Although bittersweet, the song fits perfectly within Old Dominion’s growing catalog of hits. It is a song for anyone who needs to be set free. With lyrics like “I’ll love you forever, you should have known better, some horses can never be tamed,” it is clear that this song has a deeper meaning.
The next two songs on the record, “Ain’t Got a Worry” and “Love Drunk and Happy” are summer-ready. Both tracks embody summertime at its finest. These songs are sure to be both a hit at live shows and the soundtrack to everyone’s boat days. The same vibes flow through track number seven, “How Good Is That” too!
Memory Lane changes courses a bit on the new track, “Easier Said with Rum.” One of the greatest songwriting songs on the EP, “Easier Said with Rum” is a summer-ready, break-up song. While the heartbreak is evident, the song is full of honest regret, when you did not tell the person you love that you love them.
The record culminates with the final song on the project, “Freedom Like You.” The concluding track was the perfect note to end on, as the song is pure nostalgic mixed with summertime feelings. Old Dominion has truly mastered creating music that makes us feel ready for the next adventure, nostalgic for the past, and everything in between. The Memory Lane EP is definitely worth the hype.
Memory Lane EP Track List:
If I Should Have Married You
Memory Lane
Some Horses

Tigirlily Gold release their new EP, Blonde, out now, June 23rd, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.
In a new era of music for the recently renamed, Tigirlily Gold (Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh), the sister duo is sharing their growth and talent with fans. Their latest project, a four-song EP called Blonde features music that speaks to where they are in their lives right now, their growth as artists and songwriters, and everything in between.
The record kicks off the fun-loving title track. Tigirlily Gold sing about embracing the ‘blonde’ lifestyle, namedropping icons like Dolly Parton, Marilyn Monroe, and Norma Jean. The song is anthemic and fun, a breathe of fresh air in a sea of more serious tunes in the country music landscape.
“You can’t buy happiness // But you can buy hair like this // It’s a Dolly Parton state of mind // It’s Marilyn leaving Norma Jean behind // From dirty to platinum // We’re just trying to have some fun // When we’re feeling low, we’re high-lighten up // Every day’s a good day when you’re waking up // Uh, blonde, ooh, yeah //So blonde (I mean, if you don’t have it yet)”
The duo continues to unapologetically celebrate who they are on their next song, “Hometown Song.” While “Blonde” is a celebration in its own right, “Hometown Song” is a nostalgic song about their upbringing – the good and the bad. While it feels personal to Tigirlily Gold, “Hometown Song” is the type of song that everyone can relate to. With lyrics like, “It took me 18 years to get out, but I’m still trying to move on,” it is clear that the songstresses know what it feels like to be conflicted about their hometown.
Tigirily Gold slows things down other next track, “Move On.” The brand new song is sexy, calming, and intriguing. Throughout the track, the ladies express what it is like to find a love interest and waiting for them to make a move. We hear a lot of songs from male country singers finding a girl, but hearing a song from a female perspective feels refreshing.
Lastly, Blonde concludes with the song “Shoot Tequila.” Much like “Blonde,” “Shoot Tequila” is a fun song, cementing that the record is bookmarked by two great songs. While each of the four songs showcase the duo’s songwriting prowess, “Shoot Tequila” features their incredible word play, something we love in country music.
Overall, Blonde is a great re-introudcition to the Tigirily Gold women. Each of the four songs give us something different to be excited for in a full-length record from the rising artists.
Blonde Track List:
Blonde (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Alex Kline, Scott Stepakoff)

Michael Ray releases new EP, Dive Bars & Broken Hearts, out now, June 23rd, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new EP below.
Michael Ray takes us on a soul-stirring journey with his new EP, Dive Bars and Broken Hearts. This highly anticipated project captures the raw emotions of heartache and healing, all while celebrating the power of love and resilience. With his signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and mesmerizing deep, southern twang, Ray takes us through six separate stories with one overarching theme—recovery.
This record takes us through the emotions and timeline of someone falling in love, going through a breakup, and coming to terms with himself and his life. The opening and title track is the story of how the two met and admitting they aren’t perfect for each other, but go together like “Dive Bars and Broken Hearts”—the temporary masking of a bigger void in one’s life.
“We’ll dance on forever to that broken record // Girl, we go together like dive bars and broken hearts // Baby, love me slow, sunrise waking up a long night // Misery and gin, we go like dive bars and broken hearts
In “Hate This Town,” the singer and his now ex recently ended their relationship, and he is exposing all the spots in town she tainted, so much so, he’s considering leaving altogether. The narrative is similar to the one in Dustin Lynch’s hit “Momma’s House”—just less violent. He mentions the drinks at the bar where they met are now more bitter than sweet, and, our favorite lyric, her “goodbye painted every wall on Main Street and the backroads got paved with her memory.”
Track 5, “Spirits and Demons,” is the most vulnerable tale on the project and features fellow country singer Meghan Patrick. Both parties are reflecting on the breakup, coming to the sad realization that drinking (spirits) won’t scare off the negative thoughts (demons) running through their minds. The male mentions the desire to blur out the “ring on the dresser,” which seems all too familiar to Ray’s real life.
“Get Her Back” was the first song Ray released to the public. The title makes the listener think that the singer misses his ex and wants to win her over and rekindle the relationship, but the lyrics suggest otherwise. The music video portrays a crime scene and features Ray in custody, explaining to officers that he wants to “get her back,” not in the romantic sense, but in a vengeful fashion. He quotes her sinister acts and sneaky lies that he believes would do him justice. He credits the way he was raised for not following through with his menacing thoughts. Although this crosses the pop-country line, there is a fair amount of steel guitar that fuses nicely with the rest of the production. In addition, the woman starring in the video alongside Ray resembles a certain country star.
Ray released “Workin’ On It” about a month later. Produced by Michael Knox, it is definitely the most “country” song on the record with steel, banjo, and fiddle all over the track. This song is a self-assessment of the singer, acknowledging that his truck and his golf game are not the only things that need fixing. In the second verse, he confesses that some of the complaints his ex had about him were true and he is indeed “not the man he wants to be yet.” The video is a continuation of the “Get Her Back” video, showing Ray walking out of the Sheriff’s office and hopping in his truck, innocent of the crime. This is one of Ray’s favorite songs on the record.
“If there’s a song on the Dive Bars & Broken Hearts EP that’s me, it’s probably #WorkinOnIt,” Ray posted on social media. “It’s the idea that old cars need pieces, there’s always a project to do, but maybe the biggest project of all is… me. And that’s great. Knowing you’re always gonna try to be better, but also finding the fun in that… Isn’t that what life is all about?”
This collection of tunes is incredibly unique as listeners get to hear what unfolds from each song prior. It feels like, musically, Michael Ray has been out of the spotlight for some time now, with his latest release, Higher Education, dropping in the summer of 2021. However, with this record, he is sure to catch the eyes and ears of a wide variety of, not just country fans everywhere, but anyone who loves a good comeback story.

Who is Harper Grace? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…
Quick Facts:
Full Name – Harper Grace
Birthdate – 6/26/2001
Hometown – Dallas, TX
Current City – Nashville, TN
Musical Influences – Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson, Joss Stone, Nora Jones and Taylor Swift
Label – Curb Records
Current Single – “Oh Say Can You See” – Listen here
The Beginning:
Today we shine our spotlight on a singer-songwriter that we have been loving lately, Harper Grace. Grace is a singer-songwriter who creates music that comes from the heart, all while drawing on her multitude of inspirations growing up. Continue reading to learn more about her story.
A Dallas, Texas native, Grace grew up with an incredibly supportive family. “My mom always tells this story that she would pray even before we were born that we would know what we wanted to do at a very young age, so that we’d have the time to work on that craft,” she shared.
At first, Grace and her family thought that gymnastics was going to be her thing. “I was actually in gymnastics first, when I was six years old, I was training for the olympics hopeful group, and my mom was an elite gymnast. I was bound to follow in her footsteps, but shortly after being in gymnastics for so long, I finally told her I wanted to quit and do music.”
Although nobody in her family was musically-inclined, her parents supported her desire to play music. “We got a piano donated to my family after a year of praying for one,” she began. “After that, I just fell head first into music, and I was homeschooled, so I wrote songs about shampoo, conditioner, and home schooling. And my grandma got me my first guitar at the age of seven. That’s when I really started listening to Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash and really trying to implement country more into the songs that I was writing as a kid.”
When she started hearing artists like Parton on her grandmother’s radio, something in her just clicked. “As a kid I could close my eyes and feel what she was feeling when she would sing and I could picture it all in my head. The whole realm of music to me painted pictures in my head and that’s fascinated me a lot, so knowing they were capable of putting that to music and putting stories in just a few lines in a 3 minute song was something that was really, really exciting to me.”
The Turning Point:
While singing gospel music at her church and studying incredible singers across genres, like Joss Stone, Norah Jones, and Taylor Swift, Grace quickly took interest in the storytelling side in songwriting. “I fell really in love with the songwriting process and what it did for me, listening to [singers] on the radio,” she shared.
She also shared that things really started to click for her when she heard Rascal Flatts for the first time on the radio. “They incorporated soul and country together and that was my hope in knowing that I could also do that one day.”
Despite being young, when she discovered her calling, Grace worked extremely hard to make her dream a reality. “I had a lot of drive and ambition as a kid, I saw what I wanted, and I chased it as fast as I could,” she shared. Adding, “I always knew that what I wanted to do was music, so I looked up wikipedia pages at the age of 13 and 14 of my favorite songs and who the writer’s were, and from that I just researched contacts and instagrams and emails and all the ways that I could contact some of my favorite people. […] I started doing that with my dream-list of writers, who I really hoped to collaborate with one day.”
Her incredible work-ethic and networking ability led her to eventually connect with the ‘right’ people, ultimately leading her to her deal with Curb Records at just 21 years old. “I had a dream so big and continued to update what the dream was. […] I put all the drive and passion into making it happen,” she shared. “If I’m going to dream it, I am going to do whatever is possible to make that dream come true.”
Today:
Most recently, Grace has released two new songs, including “Sparkle” and “Oh Say Can You See.” While the former is a song that speaks to Grace’s gritty, yet sparkly roots, “Oh Say Can You See” is a letter to her younger self to remember her worth no matter what. The songstress recalls going through bullying at a young age, and this song is a song that reflects what she would have told herself back then.
When asked about the writing process for the track, Grace shared, “The song was obviously a title on my song ideas for many years, probably ten years. […] It’s such a big story. […] I use my writing sessions as therapy.” She added later, “That was the fastest song that I have ever written out of the 490 songs I have written over the years and it was a really beautiful to process the story and getting to tell it.”
For Grace, this is only just the beginning of her career as a country music artist. She has true staying power, as her talent in songwriting and singing can match up to any artist in the industry right now. Fans should keep their eyes and ears open for more music coming from Grace sooner rather than later!

With a killer catalog of songs to choose from, we are sharing our favorite Brothers Osborne songs that we wish we heard on country radio. Check it out below.
“Loving Me Back” feat. Lee Ann Womack – Pawn Shop
This fantastic, old-school song falls right in the middle of the duo’s debut album, an album that spawned hit after hit. 90s country queen Lee Ann Womack’s voice sounds like honey in harmony with lead vocalist TJ Osborne, and it is the kind of ballad that would have shone during fall into winter on country radio.
“Weed, Whiskey, and Willie” – Port Saint Joe
This slow groove is enough to make listeners want to shake their heads and simply vibe. John’s baritone voice sparkles on this track, and the lyrics are great, but the song would not be nearly as great without TJ’s infectious guitar playing. Perhaps a song that mentions weed was thought to not do well on country radio, but a song celebrating heartbreak country music always does well and is always needed.
“While You Still Can” – Port Saint Joe
“While You Still Can” is just so gorgeous it would stop many music fans in their tracks. Brothers, John and TJ complement each other so well, and it is heard very clearly in this recording. Lyrically, everyone can relate to this song, and country radio always needs that.
Nostalgia and trying not to take things for granted are two themes that never go out of style. The way “While You Still Can” builds sonically is also stunning – the bridge has an unbelievable melodic modulation reminiscent of James Taylor’s 1972 slept-on “Nobody But You” and the final chorus has the most evocative guitar solo. What a way to close a record.
“Hatin’ Somebody” – Skeletons
This funky b-side off Skeletons is the perfect mesh of an early Sheryl Crow song mixed with a rowdy Van Morrison. It has the makings of a country radio hit with lyrics about getting along with your neighbors and is just overall the perfect song to listen to while sipping a drink on the beach.
“Younger Me” – Skeletons (Deluxe)
This letter-to-self-turned song is a standout in Brothers Osborne’s discography. While released as a promotional single, loved by critics, and even won a GRAMMY, this is a song that should have exploded on the country music scene. This is TJ’s story to tell, and he did it in a way that was elegant, artistic, and yet so articulate. He was able to translate such an important message while balancing the country genre’s nostalgia lyricism. TJ’s guitar is great as usual, and he even produced the dreamy, 80s-sounding song. This is definitely a track that when people look back on the Brothers’ discography, they always talk about this one.
