Abby Anderson Drops Romantic Single “I’ll Still Love You”

Abby Anderson I'll Still Love You

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and Abby Anderson’s new romantic single “I’ll Still Love You” is perfect to top off your playlists.

Written by Anderson, GRAMMY-award winner Josh Kerr, and hit songwriter Jordan Minton, “I’ll Still Love You” rivets on Anderson’s enthusiasm commencing from a second date. This sensual, feel-good love song for everybody paints what might be thrown at a relationship, all the highs and lows and everything in between. Anderson sings about turning old and gray and no matter what, they will always be there for each other.

“Oh, we’re gonna laugh // We’re gonna cry, we’re gonna fight // Oh, but we’re gonna live // Maybe have a few kids // Whatever happens // I’ll promise you this // When the colors fade // From these picture frames // When my hair turns gray // The seasons all change // And we’ve seen better days // Whatever this life puts us through // Baby, I’ll still love you”

The Black River Entertainment Recording Artist shared on Instagram, “I heard someone once say that if you wanna stay young, stay in love. So I just wanna stay in love for the rest of my life. In love with my friends, my family, myself, this life, my man (yes it’s about him wut u expect srsly if I had one wish it’d be that everyone in this world could know him) all of it. What a beautiful gift it is to love. “I’ll Still Love You” is OUT BBY!!!”

On February 6th, The Country Music Association announced an international showcase including Abby Anderson as well as Cassadee Pope, Niko Moon, and Mitchell Tenpenny that’ll be taking place in March. This tour will be visiting Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. For more on Abby Anderson tune into our Swag Session with her from last year.

“I’ll Still Love You” Lyrics

Oh, look at those smiles
Sun on the waves
I almost taste
The salt in the air
Oh, and doesn’t it feel
Like just yesterday
Was our second date
And I still get nervous
When you hold my hand
It still feels perfect
When you ask me to dance

When the colors fade
From these picture frames
When my hair turns gray
The seasons all change
And we’ve seen better day
Whatever this life puts us through
Baby, I’ll still love you

Oh, we’re gonna laugh
We’re gonna cry
We’re gonna fight
Oh, but we’re gonna live
Maybe have a few kids
Whatever happens
I’ll promise you this

When the colors fade
From these picture frames
When my hair turns gray
The seasons all change
And we’ve seen better days
Whatever this life puts us through
Baby, I’ll still love you

When the sun does its damage
The paint on this house turns to rust
When the future’s the past
And there’s no more breath in my lungs

When the colors fade
From these picture frames
When my hair turns gray
The seasons all change
And we’ve seen better days
Whatever this life puts us through
Whatever time tries to undo
Yeah baby, I promise you
I’ll still love you

[Listen] Jon Langston Unleashes New Single “Drinks”

Jon Langston Drinks

Georgia-native Jon Langston unleashed his latest single “Drinks” today following his previous EP Now You Know released this past October. Written by Langston, Jared Mullins, and Matt Alderman, this song made its debut about a year ago during Langston’s live sets and finally made its official debut. The 32 Bridge Entertainment artist shared in a press release, I’ve been wanting this song to be out for a long time. We’ve been playing it live this past year and the fans are ready for it too! I’m really excited for the world to hear this one.”

This song illustrates the process of going through heartbreak and post-breakup feelings. Both parties of pain are described and it isn’t always the same for each side, and that is shown. She is going out, getting back to her usual amusements while he is hurting like hell. He sings: “She’s getting drinks // She’s going out // Out with her friends // I bet right now // She’s had 3 or 4 // Raisin’ Hell, looking like heaven on the dance floor, oh // She might leave alone // She might fall in love // Either way, she ain’t thinking bout us // She’s getting drinks // And I’m getting drunk”

Langston is heading out on the road supporting Morgan Wallen’s Whiskey Glasses Roadshow Tour starting today, February 7th, in Columbus, Ohio. For more about the singer-songwriter check out our most recent Swag Spotlight with him from September.

“Drinks” Full Lyrics

She opens up that getting ready bottle of red
Cuts the overprice tags off that little black dress
Its been a while since she felt like
Doing what she’s gonna do tonight

She’s getting drinks
She’s going out
Out with her friends
I bet right now
She’s had 3 or 4
Raisin’ hell looking like heaven on the dance floor, oh
She might leave alone
She might fall in love
Even when she ain’t thinking bout us
She’s getting drinks
And I’m getting drunk

She’s hitting the town right now it’s hitting me hard
She’s getting down and I’m down in this bar
Workin’ on the whiskey but the whiskey don’t work
It’s killing me that it ain’t killing her

She’s getting drinks
She’s going out
Out with her friends
I bet right now
She’s had 3 or 4
Raisin’ hell looking like heaven on the dance floor, oh
She might leave alone
She might fall in love
Even when she ain’t thinking bout us
She’s getting drinks
And I’m getting drunk…

We both got a buzz but for different reasons
She’s all right and I’m on the left side of leaving

She’s getting drinks
She’s going out
Out with her friends
I bet right now
She’s had 3 or 4
Raisin’ hell looking like heaven on the dance floor
She might leave alone
She might fall in love
Even when she ain’t thinking bout us
She’s getting drinks
And I’m getting drunk
And I’m getting drunk

Sam Hunt New Song “Hard To Forget” Has A Classic Country Spin

Sam Hunt Hard to Forget

Fresh off the heels of his new headlining tour and highly-anticipated sophomore album announcement, Sam Hunt has released another instant-grat track ahead of the April 3rd release.

“Hard To Forget” samples the timeless Webb Pierce classic “There Stands The Glass” both in the intro and outro of the song, and is enhanced by production beats and fades. Upon first listen, one might wonder if they ended up playing the wrong song— but Hunt’s vocals come in 33 seconds after.

Penned by Hunt, Shane McAnally, Ashley Gorley, Josh Osborne, Luke Laird, Audrey Grisham, Mary Jean Shurtz, and Russ Hull, this upbeat, foot-tapper is a refreshing take on the typical post-breakup heartache narrative.

“You’ve got a cold heart and the cold hard truth / I got a bottle of whiskey but I’ve got no proof / That you showed up tonight in that dress / Just to mess with my head / So much for so long, out of sight, out of mind / Girl you’re looking so good, it’s driving me out of mine / Aw you’re breaking my heart / Baby you’re playing hard to forget”

Although Hunt laments the pains of a failed relationship and his susceptibility to being mesmerized, what makes this song uniquely Sam Hunt is his signature country-pop-R&B-rap spin, blended with some traditional country sounds from Pierce’s hit.

It’s been a while since artists sampled classic country songs the way the 35-year-old did on this song. Was it a success? Yes— we’d say so, because it’s been on repeat for us!

Hunt announced earlier this week that he is heading out on the Southside Summer Tour with Kip Moore, Travis Denning, and Ernest. More info and tickets here.

To keep up with Sam Hunt, you can find him on InstagramTwitterFacebook.

“Hard To Forget” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

“Hard To Forget” Lyrics

First stands the glass
That relieves all my pain
That will settle my brain
It’s my first one to take
First stands the glass
That-that relieves all my pain
That-that will settle my brain
It’s-it’s my first one to take
Hey

I saw your sister at work
I saw your mama at church
I’m pretty sure I saw your car at the mall
I see your face in the clouds
I smell your perfume in crowds
I swear your number’s all my phone wants to call

It’s kinda funny how I can’t seem
To get away from you
It’s almost like you don’t want me to

You’ve got a cold heart and the cold hard truth
I got a bottle of whiskey but I’ve got no proof
That you showed up tonight in that dress
Just to mess with my head
So much for so long, out of sight, out of mind
Girl you’re looking so good, it’s driving me out of mine
Aw you’re breaking my heart
Baby you’re playing hard to forget

Told me to leave all your things
Out on the porch on the swing
You’d come and grab them by the end of the week
It’s just some jeans and a shirt
But it’s a whole lot of hurt
I think I know why you’ve been dragging your feet

Ain’t it funny how I can’t seem
To get away from you
It’s almost like you don’t want me to

You’ve got a cold heart and the cold hard truth
I got a bottle of whiskey but I’ve got no proof
That you showed up tonight in that dress
Just to mess with my head
So much for so long, out of sight, out of mind
Girl you’re looking so good, it’s driving me out of mine
Aw you’re breaking my heart
Baby you’re playing hard to forget

First stands the glass
That-that relieves all my pain
That-that will settle my brain
It’s-it’s my first one to take

You’ve got a cold heart and the cold hard truth
I got a bottle of whiskey but I’ve got no proof
That you showed up tonight in that dress
Just to mess with my head
So much for so long, out of sight, out of mind
Girl you’re looking so good, it’s driving me out of mine
Aw you’re breaking my heart
Baby you’re playing hard to forget

Aw honey I’m falling apart
You’re playing hard to forget

Lena Stone Releases New Buoyant Single “Personal Space”

Lena Stone Personal Space

Lena Stone, one of country’s newest rising female singer + songwriters, isn’t new to the game. She’s one of the original members of the Song Suffragettes showcase and movement. She was one of the female artists alongside Tenille Arts, Madison Kozak, Candi Carpenter and more featured on the “Time’s Up” song debuted by Song Suffragettes that brought awareness to the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements. After moving to Nashville at 18 from the encouragement of songwriter Darrell Brown, Stone has penned over 600 songs in the last few years including Kalie Shorr’s “Two Hands” and “Fight Like A Girl.” Today, she dropped her new single “Personal Space” following her latest release “Kids These Days” in July of 2019 and her self-titled EP in 2018.

“Personal Space” inaugurates with an instant chordal guitar ear-worm that sustains throughout the mix. The Carlisle, Massachusetts native is begging for her loved one to get all up in her personal space. She wants him to ask about her mama and her past relationship drama. How she takes her coffee, although fun fact: she’s never had a cup of coffee, and all about her favorite records.

She sings: “I want to show you all, my favorite records // Hang out with you in my, old navy sweatshirt // If I’m being honest, I’m never this honest // So ask me my biggest secret // Baby, I know you’ll keep it // Let me, let you get close // I want you all in my personal space. // I wanna wake up with you everyday // You should be mine, every night // Walk through my door and stay // I want you all in my personal space.

“‘Personal Space’ is such a fun, flirty song and it seemed like the perfect song to release just before Valentine’s Day,” expressed Stone in a press release. “I loved writing this song and flipping the idea of personal space on its head to tell someone you care about them and want them close to you.”

Although it’s winter, summer love jam vibes are screaming all over this piece and will wash your winter blues away.

NYCS First Impression Aubrie Sellers ‘Far From Home’

Aubrie Sellers Far From HOme

Aubrie Sellers is a lot of things. She’s an actress, the daughter of country music royalty, an outlaw, and an incredible singer-songwriter. Her debut album, New City Blues, was ranked #13 on Rolling Stone’s 2016 Best Country Albums list and was loved by fans and critics all around. Her sophomore album, Far From Home, released today, February 7th, and it’s chock-full of songs that make you want to drive through a thunderstorm and dance in the rain all at the same time.

The 12-track collection is dreamy, nostalgic, and gritty. Sellers explores topics like small-town living and relationships, as well as the ups and downs of one’s innermost thoughts and concerns. “Anxiety can be very isolating. Unless you’ve really gone through it, it’s difficult to fully understand,” she explains in a press release. Track 4 is “Worried Mind”, co-written by Sellers and Adam Wright, where Sellers sings about what it’s like to live in a constant state of fear. “I got a worried mind/And I’m worried I’ll be worried all the time”.

The opening is the achingly beautiful title track, “Far From Home”. It’s about feeling like you haven’t officially found your place in the world, yet you know the feeling is temporary. “It can get lonely/But we know we/won’t always be far from home,” she sings on the chorus. It’s written more like a poem set to music, and it’s without a doubt the cornerstone of the album.

The album as a whole is “garage country”, as described by Sellers. You hear producer Frank Liddell’s influence on the rockier tunes like “Lucky Charm” and “Troublemaker”. Liddell is responsible for many of Miranda Lambert’s hits and has a way of adding his own spin to an artists’ vision. “He doesn’t impose his own sound on an artist; he lets everybody sound like themselves,” Sellers says. “That was really important to me.”

The eighth track is the stellar solo-write “Haven’t Even Kissed Me Yet”. It’s a gorgeous, floaty, and romantic moment centered around that first feeling of connection with someone. Sellers’ voice is hesitant, delicate; as if testing the waters before she declares that she’s all-in.

She collaborated with rock legend Steve Earle, covering “My Love Will Not Change”. This song is just another example of her versatility as an artist. “Maybe I’m a little fringe or old school, but I can only be myself,” she says. “Going Places”, written by Sellers and Angelo Petraglia is placed in the middle of the album, and it fits perfectly there. It sounds like a psychedelic country road trip through Sellers’ brain as if combining the sounds of Ashley Monroe and Tame Impala.

“I feel like I’m film in a digital world,” Sellers says in a press release. “There are so many slick, clean-sounding records that are designed for quick consumption, but that’s not me. I make dirty, grungy-sounding records, and the emotions spill all over the place. They’re messy at times, but I find beauty in that.”

Sellers is an artist that does not make music designed for radio success. She creates music that comes from within, and in an era where everyone is full-speed ahead, it’s exciting to see someone slow down and simply create art. Far From Home is a storyteller’s album. These are the stories that live on longer than Sellers herself.

NYCS First Impression The Cadillac Three ‘COUNTRY FUZZ’

Country Fuzz

For the first time, since 2017, the country-rock trio, The Cadillac Three have a new album to celebrate! Today marks the release of the dynamic group’s fourth album COUNTRY FUZZ. The long-awaited LP features sixteen tracks that showcase the group’s undeniable talent and versatility, proving that it is a record for many types of country fans.

For fans that love the rowdy side of The Cadillac Three, the new release boasts a few fun-loving hits, including the lead single, “Crackin’ Cold Ones With The Boys” and “Hard Out Here For A Country Boy.” Both tracks lend themselves well to a high-energy live show and get your heart pumping in all the right ways. The latter features both Chris Janson and Travis Tritt. Other songs that scream The Cadillac Three vibes are ”Slow Rollin” and “Heat.”

The Nashville trio’s lead singer, Jaren Johnston shows off his writing chops, solo-writing two of the songs on the project, “Raise Hell” and “Long After Last Call.” While “Raise Hell” is a funky, upbeat tune, “Long After Last Call” features a heartfelt vocal delivery and simple instrumentation. The song may be a surprise to longtime TC3 fans, but it also may be one of their best.

Continuing to infuse elements of funk and soul into their notable county-rock sound, The Cadillac Three added songs like “The Jam” and “Blue El Camino” to their collection. Both songs showcase the trio’s musical mastery, as they play with steel guitars and drums. According to the band “the funkier aspects of this record is where [they] we’re wanting to go, but with big ol’ country hooks,” adding later, “because that is what we’re addicted to from growing up in Nashville. We love country songwriting and huge hooks.”

Other testaments to their exploration as a group include the brilliant “Labels” and “Back Home.” The former is an anthemic song about rejecting labels. The poignant track simply states “nobody wants to be a label” which can refer to many aspects of everyday life as both a human being and an artist. On the other hand, “Back Home” marks the first song the band has ever recorded that they haven’t co-written. Regardless, the nostalgic track, as well as, “Why Ya Gotta Go Out Like That” show a necessary softer side to the trio’s usual hard-hitting sound.

Of course, the trio makes sure to pay homage to whiskey, with two songs dedicated to the liquor, “Jack Daniel’s Heart” and “Whiskey And Smoke.” Both tracks have an enticing, rough-rousing quality to them, as the lead singer offers an interesting take on the widely sung about subject.

Somehow, The Cadillac Three manage to deliver a cohesive project that blurs genre lines, while still remaining true to their distinctly cultivated sound. We commend the passionate trio on their latest release. As the band says perfectly, “it’s not easy to land on something that is your own thing” but somehow they found their sweet spot on this record.

New Yorkers can catch The Cadillac Three next week when they play the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. For tickets and more information, head to thecadillacthree.com.

NYCS First Impression: Tenille Townes ‘Road to the Lemonade Stand’ EP

Road to the Lemonade Stand Tenille Townes

For just about two years, country fans have watched rising artist Tenille Townes grow and mature as a singer and a songwriter. She is as authentic as they come and her music is real, raw, emotional, and impactful. Her newest project, Road to the Lemonade Stand, out today, represents her artistry perfectly and shines a light on her one of a kind talent.

Townes expresses her desire to release this project to fans in such a way only she could explain. “I wanted to put out this EP to continue to tell the story of these songs,” she shares. “This EP is for everyone that has been on this road with me so far…the ones who have shared their stories at the shows and in messages and who have given these songs a home.”

The six-song EP features four of her previously released songs, including “White Horse, “Jersey on the Wall,” “I Kept the Roses,” and “Somebody’s Daughter.” Each of the tracks tells a different, but equally as an important story, while the production connects all six tracks together. In “White Horse,” Townes expresses that she found love in the most unexpected way and that it looked different than she ever imagined in the best possible way. On the other hand, “I Kept the Roses,” showcases her vulnerability through an uplifting breakup song. She sings about how experiences shape the person we are and there is always a light to be found.

Of course, “Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking)” and “Somebody’s Daughter”, two of Townes’ most popular songs, continues her unique narrative, as she explores subjects that are often taboo in country music. The former is a therapeutic track, where the singer questions God and his motives, wondering why a high school athlete lost her life. The latter, arguably the most poignant track, is one of our favorites. “Somebody’s Daughter” speaks to the important societal issue of recognizing homelessness as an epidemic and reminding listeners that everyone’s’ lives are important.

The record is bookmarked by Townes’ extraordinary cover of Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy” and a brand new track entitled “Holding Out for the One.” The new song is the outlier on the EP but shows a side of Townes that hopefully, fans will see more of on the full-length record. The upbeat jam is fierce, honest, and although different, unequivocally Tenille. She most certainly knows herself and will continue to hold out for that one of a kind type of love that we all deserve.

Road to the Lemonade Stand is just the beginning for Townes. Her piercing vocals and knack for songwriting are sure to take her far in this industry, as she continues to prove why we named her one of our 2019 Artists to Watch. Even so, the songstress credits her fans for allowing her to speak her truth sharing “You have shaped me and shaped the meaning of The Lemonade Stand. I’m so excited to walk on this Road to the Lemonade Stand with you.” Her full-length record The Lemonade Stand is due out this Spring, and it will definitely be on to look out for.

In support of the new projects, Townes will be hitting the road on her very first US headlining tour kicking off in April and coming to Rockwood Music Hall in NY on May 7th. Tickets and more info available here.

To keep up with Tenille Townes follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Tyler Rich & Teddy Robb Announce “Rather Be Us” Tour

Rather Be Us Tour

Two of our favorite rising artists, Tyler Rich and Teddy Robb are heading out on a West Coast leg of a brand new tour, the Rather Be Us Tour. Kicking off at the iconic Troubador in Los Angeles on March 19th the trek continues through the end of March in Tacoma, Washington. Tickets go on sale at 10:00A PT / 12:00P CT this Friday, February 7 at TylerRich.com.
