We mentioned in our Perfect Weekend in Nashville Guide that visiting some of the fantastic murals in Nashville is a must, but now we’re giving you the inside scoop into some of our favorite murals that Music City has to offer, their locations, and of course, the perfect captions to go with your Instagram picture!

 

1. “I Believe in Nashville”
2702 12th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37204 // 1402 Clinton Street, Nashville, TN 37203

This coveted mural is one of the most photographed in all of Nashville. It’s all about Nashville pride, and it’s the perfect introduction into Nashville’s unique vibes. The original is located in the 12 South area, but you can also take your photo in front of the identical one located near Marathon Music Works.

2. “Looking Pretty, Music City”
2709 12th Avenue South Nashville, TN, 37203

Located on the side of the new Madewell store is this cutesy new addition to the 12 south area. This mural epitomizes the vibrancy of Nashville, and we especially love the unique saying that is plastered across the brightly designed wall.

3. “What Lifts You Up” Wings
302 11th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37203

Arguably the most popular mural in Nashville is this one created by artist, Kelsey Montague. Right in the heart of the Gulch, you’ve got to get your picture taken in front of the big wings or even sitting in front of the tiny ones.

4. “What Lifts You Up” Hot Air Balloon
1034 W Eastland Avenue Nashville TN, 27206

Created by the same artist, you have to head to the newly gentrified area of East Nashville for this mural. Complete with a hot air balloon basket to pose in, this one is probably one of the cutest murals currently in Music City. The East Nashville mural is just across the street too in case you want to snap a shot of that one, while you’re at it!

5. “Nashville Looks Good On You”
2511 12th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37204

Before you go home, you’ve got to snap your picture in front of this classic black and white masterpiece. It’s located on the side of a popular coffee shop, The Frothy Monkey, just outside 12 South.

6. Geometric Colorful “The Nashville Walls Project” Mural
299 11th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37203

Located in the Gulch, you can find two murals side by side, situated in the parking lot across from a quaint brunch spot called Milk and Honey. The mural is a colorful and abstract, making the perfect backdrop for your next Insta photo.

7. Flower Garden Mural

Hidden on the side of a salon, the floral mural is the most charming compilation of beautiful flowers. The colors and vibrant imagery will make your Instagram picture stand out. Wear something monochromatic to pop against the colorful backdrop!

8. “Kindness Is…”

Nestled in the charming town of Germantown, is the kind mural created by supporters of @thekindway. It’s a simple floral art piece with the words “Kindness is and a blank space on it, aimed towards inviting others to define kindness.

9. Draper James mural
2608 12th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37203

Superstar Reese Witherspoon recently opened up her own clothing store called Draper James. The southern-inspired boutique even has a mural to go with it! On the side of the store, you’ll find both a Draper James logo with a bench to pose on, as well as, a wall of charming blue and white vertical stripes to take your picture in front of. Both make for a cute and endearing photograph! Bonus: It’s right across the street from the “I Believe In Nashville” mural.

10. “It’s Gonna Be O.K.”

Sometimes we all need a reminder that things will work out, and that’s what this Nashville mural does. We love how it quietly highlights mental health awareness. This mural is one of the many that are hidden on this stretch of road in Nashville. Snap your photo in front of this charming reminder, but be careful to look out for cars!
