Luke Combs Releases Stunning Studio Version of “Six Feet Apart”

Luke Combs Six Feet Apart

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty in our world currently, an unwavering hero has emerged in music. Artists, songwriters, and singers alike have kept the music alive and well via online channels and streaming, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Country megastar, Luke Combs is one of the many talented artists that have created masterpieces during this time. Today, he released the studio version of his brand new song, “Six Feet Apart.”

Originally unveiled during a live stream for all his quarantined fans, “Six Feet Apart” is a lyrical journey through Combs’ experiences. The singer-songwriter wrote the song on April 14th with songwriters Brent Cobb and Rob Synder. According to Combs, “it’s about the current times and us looking forward to the day all of this is over.”

The somber ballad is truthful and inspiring. The song reminds us that everyone is impacted by the events of the current times in many different, yet the same ways. For a superstar like Luke, we are sometimes remiss to the fact that he experiences things the same way we all do. It is both comforting and relatable hearing Combs sing about missing his family, missing live music, and just missing the world the way it used to be.

Despite the trials, he reminds us that “there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows [again]” and most importantly, “there will be light after dark.” This was the message we needed to continue to persevere through these difficult times. Combs can truly do no wrong, but this song is definitely a special one. Check out the full lyrics of the beautiful track here.

LUKE COMBS – “Six Feet Apart” Lyrics

When the dogwoods start to bloom
And the crickets hum their tune
It’s usually about the time
That I feel most alive

But the news has all been bad
And the world just seems so sad
I ain’t had much else going on
So I sat down and wrote this song

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

First thing that I’m gonna do
Is slide on in some corner booth
Take the whole damn family out
And buy my buddies all a round
Pay some extra on the tab
Catch a movie, catch a cab
Watch a ballgame from the stands
Probably overwash my hands

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

I miss my mom, I miss my dad
I miss the road, I miss my band
Giving hugs and shaking hands
It’s a mystery I suppose
Just how long this thing goes
But there’ll be crowds and there’ll be shows
And there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart

Well there will be light after dark
Some day when we aren’t six feet apart
