Kelsea Ballerini ‘Unapologetically’ Blows Away Central Park
“Hey Y’all,” said Kelsea Ballerini as she greeted fans earlier today in New York City’s famed Central Park at the Good Morning America stage. Opening with an energetic performance of “Unapologetically,” the title track from her sophomore album she got the crowd going. With a silver sparkly cropped sweatshirt, high white boots, and a bright blue guitar, she was ready to put on a show despite the early morning call time. Ballerini posted on her Instagram Stories that she was waking up at 4:45 AM this morning in order to make her TV appearance.
In between songs, she talked about hosting the CMAFest broadcast with Thomas Rhett that airs August 8th at 8 PM ET on ABC. “Everyone is there and it’s a big party and it really is just everyone getting together,” said Ballerini with a huge smile on her face. Addressing the cliches of love, she delivered her playful song “I Hate Love Songs” with conviction. The fans were comprised of 6-year-old girls with their older sisters to grandmas and each knew every single word.
Finishing out her set, Ballerini got the fans engaged by having them sing along with “Peter Pan” and “Love Me Like You Mean It” from her debut album. One thing to note about her performance is she was constantly smiling. She not only makes sure that the audience is having a great time but you can tell she is as well. New Yorkers, you can experience Ballerini’s captivating show when she opens for Keith Urban on October 27th at the Barclays Center. Grab your tickets here!
