Today we shine our spotlight on a rising artist named, Myles Morgan. Morgan chatted with us about his upbringing, how he found music, and of course his latest releases. The singer-songwriter grew up in Birmingham, Alabama with a love for music, but becoming an artist was never necessarily the plan. Instead, baseball was his main focus growing up.

“I was always a baseball player. I was never really a musician,” he shared. “Nobody in my family did music or anything. I was just two feet in, all the way focused on baseball.” Morgan had planned to play baseball in college, but after moving his senior year of high-school to Orange Beach, things began to shift.

With a little more free time on his hands, he decided to pick up a guitar for the first time simply because he thought it would be something cool to learn. Armed with a love for music as a fan, he started learning songs by artists he loved like Morgan Wallen and Lynyrd Skynyrd, while artists like Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, and Chris Stapleton were also influences. His music taste extends outside of country too, with Post Malone remaining one of his favorite artists. “I fell in love with it when I picked it up, and I didn’t want to put it down,” he shared. “I wanted to see where it went.”

After graduating high school, he began playing three-hour solo acoustic cover shows as a way to make some money before college. Once he got to the University of Alabama, he put a band together and started playing bars throughout Tuscaloosa, while spending his summers back in Orange Beach playing at the Flora-Bama. Songwriting came shortly after learning guitar. After playing for about six months, he began trying to write songs of his own, pulling inspiration from the things happening in his real life. “It was all pretty much based on true stories and conversations and experiences and whatnot that inspired my songwriting,” he shared.

The Turning Point:

What started with cover shows and college bars quickly turned into something much bigger. In April of 2025, the singer-songwriter played his first headline show. Just about a week later, he got a call from WME asking him to come to Nashville for a meeting. “They said, ‘Hey, you want to come to Nashville and have a meeting?’ And I was like, ‘Absolutely,’” he recalled.

Shortly after, Morgan signed with WME and officially made the move to Nashville later that year “It’s been a blur, but it’s still a lot of fun,” he shared, when remising about moving to Music City. Over the last several months, he’s had the chance to write with songwriters like Rhett Akins, Jet Harvey, Cole Taylor, Ray Fulcher, and more, while continuing to release music of his own.

His live career has been moving just as quickly. Last fall, he headed out on his first headline run, the I Still Got It Tour. This year, he’s back on the road for his second headline run, the Roadside Tour, a name inspired by “Roads,” a song he wrote with Akins. The growing list of live opportunities has also led to some pretty exciting moments. Earlier this summer, he got the chance to open for Post Malone at Carolina Country Music Fest, bringing him one step closer to a dream collaboration he has been hoping for.

Today, the rising singer-songwriter is continuing to build on the momentum, both on the road and with new music. Morgan has released a song a month for a few months now. Most recently, he released his brand new song, “Missin’ Me Drunk.”

The idea for the song came naturally during a night out with a friend. His friend was telling him about his long-distance relationship and how nice it was to finally be with someone he trusted. Even when his girlfriend went out, there was no worrying about what she was doing. Instead, she would end up texting him to tell him how much she missed him. “He was like, ‘There’s some crazy drunks out there, there’s some wild drunks, some fighting drunks, but it looks like I got a missing-me drunk,’” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Wow, that’s a song right there. I really love this song because it came from such an organic place.”

“Missin’ Me Drunk” also gives fans a slightly different side of his music. The acoustic-driven song has no drums, something he hasn’t done on any of his previous releases. “It’s just a little bit of a deeper, more intimate, I guess, love-song vibe,” he shared. “So I’m excited about it.”

The new song comes as the singer-songwriter continues his Roadside Tour, with plenty more shows still to come. Between headline dates and opportunities to share the stage with other artists, including Jon Pardi, Corey Kent, and Zach John King, performing remains a huge focus. “If there’s an opportunity for anybody to come see the live show, they will not be disappointed,” he shared. “It’s gonna be a whole heck of a lot of fun.”

Fans can also expect plenty more new music. The singer-songwriter plans to continue releasing songs at the same pace throughout the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more!
