Old Dominion Release New Track “Midnight Mess Around”
Reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year, Old Dominion are gearing up for the release of their self-titled third studio album slated for release next month, on October 25th. With that, the band has released the sixth song from the forthcoming record, entitled “Midnight Mess Around.”
The fun and provocative song is seemingly catchy with its upbeat tune and racy lyrics. Lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, and guitar/key player Trevor Rosen co-penned with the late beloved Andrew Dorff, and with hit-maker Shane McAnally as the producer.
“’Cause I got it bad and I can’t stop / The feeling that I gotta have you right now / How ’bout a midnight, midnight mess around / I know which road, which road to take you down / So let your hair and your dress fall to the ground / How ‘bout a midnight, midnight mess around”
Along with the song’s release, comes a lyric video with behind the scenes clips of the band creating and recording the risque jam. Watch below.
The band took to their Twitter to share the decision behind putting this track on the album, “It’s been a favorite for a while. As we got deeper into recording this album, it seemed we were missing that sexy country feel. So we messed around.”
Last week, the chart-topping band announced their next headlining ‘We Are Old Dominion’ fourteen-date Canadian tour kicking off this December with special guests Mitchell Tenpenny and Meghan Patrick. U.S. dates have yet to be announced but we will certainly keep you updated when they do!
