Michael Ray Performs “One That Got Away” on Live with Kelly and Ryan

This morning, ACM nominated New Male Artist Of The Year, Michael Ray stopped by Live with Kelly and Ryan to perform his current chart-climbing single, “One That Got Away.” Before taking the stage to perform his infectious tune, co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest came out to introduce the singer to the audience.

Kicking off the month, Ray brought a little bit of summer to this cold winter morning dressing in a Hawaiian style shirt, while giving viewers at home an upbeat and energized performance to remember. As always, he captivated his audience with his undeniable confidence singing his lyrics about a one of a kind girl with his infectious smile never leaving his face. At the end of the song, the studio erupted in cheers, while Ripa and Seacrest came back to the stage cheering.

That wasn’t all for his appearance, Ripa and Seacrest took time after to chat with the singer. Seacrest mentioned how both Ray and his fiancé Carly Pearce, are both nominated for this year’s ACM Awards simultaneously, with Ray responding, “Yea it’s incredible! It’s my first one so it made it that much more special.” While mentioning his fiancé, Ripa couldn’t have him leave without talking about his elaborate proposal to Pearce in Mexico. Ray mentioning, “I went a little far out…I wanted to give her what she deserved…something we both remember forever and she watches the Bachelor so I had a lot to live up to.” Before leaving the stage, the co-hosts congratulated him on all his success, making this a moment to never forget.

Carly Pearce Video for “Closer To You” Features Fiancé Michael Ray

Closer To You

Breakout country music star, Carly Pearce debuted her new music video directed by Mason Dixon for her current single “Closer to You”. The song was released back in November, and the video has been highly anticipated by fans. The song is also the debut single from Pearce’s upcoming sophomore album and a great preview of the music expected to be on that album.

“Closer to You” was not written by Pearce, but by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Troy Verges. However, the song resonated so much with Pearce. In an interview with Popculture.com Pearce said, “I didn’t write it, but as soon as I heard it, much like ‘Hide The Wine,’ my last single, it was one of those things that I connected with.”

In the new video filmed in Nashville, Pearce sets out on the road to find the one who has been running through her mind. Now if you follow the singer, you have witnessed her amazing love story with fellow country music star, Michael Ray. Ray makes an appearance in the video and fans are loving every minute of it. Featuring her fiancé was a no brainer for Pearce as their relationship was the reason she fell in love with track and the inspiration behind the video.

“I’ve got a fast car gassed up, sittin’ in the driveway” sings Pearce, who is seen looking out the window and suddenly is behind the wheel of her car. As the song gets even more intense, Pearce sings about her desire to “kill the space in between,” she accelerates and pushes the car to 100 miles per hour to reach the person she longs to be with.

Right now, Pearce is co-headlining a tour with Russel Dickerson, working on her sophomore album, and hitting the road with Jason Aldean on his “Ride All Night Tour” in May. You can catch Pearce when the “Ride All Night Tour” stops at Northwell Health at Jones Beach on September 6th.

5 Country Stars Who Bring Their Adorable Pups On Tour

They don’t call dogs a man’s best friend for nothing. If you have a furry friend you know far too well that it isn’t easy being away from their precious faces for too long. Just like us, country stars know this feeling, so why not bring them on the road? Check out the artists, who bring their best buds on tour!

1) Brett Eldredge & Edgar Boogie –

The most famous country pup of them all, Edgar Boogie is never too far from his dad, Brett Eldredge. The duo are inseparable, always keeping the fans up to date on their latest adventures. Every night while on tour Edgar makes a special appearance in the ‘Bedhead Jams’ portion of the show and recently was the star of Eldredge’s music video “Love Someone” The Edgar Cut. The beloved pup also has his own Instagram page, @edgarboogie.

2) Kelsea Ballerini & Dibs –

Kelsea Ballerini has a special fur baby in her life, making it too hard to leave him behind. She brings Dibs on tour with her whenever she can and he even has his own backstage pass for his collar. Ballerini got Dibs just after the release of her first album, The First Time, and named the pup after her first single of the same name!

3) Chris Young & Porter –

Chris Young’s pup, Porter, is the newest addition to his road crew on ‘The Losing Sleep World Tour.’ Young received Porter last Christmas from his sister without knowing what his reaction would be; he ended up loving the German Shepard puppy at first sight. As a joke, the hit singer made an Instagram account for his furry friend but kept it once it started gaining followers. You can follow along, @porterthedog, to see how his first time on the road is going!

It was love at first sight for Michael Ray and his adopted pup, Wrigley. He just couldn’t resist taking her home after the Country LakeShake Festival in 2017 and now his beloved Wrigley is constantly on the road with him. Ray and his pup have since launched, Wrigley Cares, a foundation to help animals in need. While Ray’s on tour, he sets up donation stations so concert attendees can drop off supplies that will go to local shelters.

Old Dominion Releases New Single & Makes 2019 “Sweet” with Big Announcement

Following a successful year of live shows and number one singles, Old Dominion is ready to begin the next era of their career with a brand new single and headlining tour, both entitled “Make It Sweet.”  Co-written by all five members of the group (Brad Tursi, Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Geoff Sprung, Whit Sellers) and Shane McAnally, this upbeat and infectious single is the perfect blend of a love story and a take on the imperative phrase “life is short.”

The guys shared how unexpectedly and effortlessly it came to be in a note via the band’s Twitter account, check out the Tweet below.

The band sings in the chorus, “’Cause I’m stuck on you, you’re stuck on me / I never gotta wonder where my honey be / I ain’t saving all my sugar for a Saturday night / Seven days a week I got an appetite / Sunsets like a tangerine, let’s find a road we’ve never seen / Don’t waste another mile or a minute not kissing me / Life is short, make it sweet”

The tune precedes more music to come from the Academy of Country Music award-winning group.  Along with the song’s release is a brand new music video to go along with it, displaying young couples reveling in each other’s company upon some majestic scenery which concludes in a mountainside house party with the band.  Tursi, Ramsey, Rosen, Sprung, and Sellers had one more surprise in store for fans this week: a winter headlining arena tour. Kicking off on January 18, 2019, in Chicago, IL, the twenty-four date tour will run through April 27, 2019, ending in San Jose, CA. The band will be joined by special guests Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny and Morgan Evans, each at select dates. For a full list of dates and ticket information, visit https://olddominionband.com/tour/.

Last night (Sept. 18.), Old Dominion sold out and electrified the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for their special headline show: “An Evening With Friends.” The concert raised a total of $40K for charity, with half of the proceeds benefiting the Opry Trust Fund and the other half benefitting the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

In a recent press release, Old Dominion frontman and 2017 ASCAP Artist Writer of the Year Matthew Ramsey said, “What an unforgettable night. The Nashville community has given so much to us. Our lives have changed in ways we could never have imagined – so we felt like this show at the Ryman was a great way to start giving back. There was so much love and music and history swirling around. We are beyond proud to be able to raise money and help those who need it – along with help from our friends!”

By “our friends”, Ramsey is referring to the superstar lineup that joined them including Kenny Chesney, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt, and Michael Ray for show-stopping renditions of fan favorites. Chesney surprised the band on stage and had them play “Save It For A Rainy Day,” which was co-written by Old D’s Matthew Ramsey and Brad Tursi and hit #1 for three consecutive weeks. Kelsea Ballerini also joined the band to duet the band’s #1 single “Written In The Sand” and her single “I Hate Love Songs,” co-written by band member Trevor Rosen. Michael Ray then followed and performed his latest energetic single “The One That Got Away,” penned by Ramsey and Rosen. Lastly, Sam Hunt performed two songs with the band that included the #1 single “Make You Miss Me,” as well as “Ex To See,” both of which were co-written with Hunt by Ramsey.

Old Dominion kept the party going and performed 19 additional songs during their 120 minute set covering all of their #1 hit singles and fan favorites including two brand new unreleased songs “Make It Sweet” and “Smooth Sailing.”

A place like Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium is hallowed ground. After selling out arenas across the U.S. and Canada on the winter leg of their “Happy Endings World Tour,” the band checked the iconic venue off their bucket list before they pick back up on the fall leg of their arena tour. Venture with Michael Ray in Miami for “One That Got Away” Video

Rising country star, Michael Ray premiered his music video, yesterday, for his new single “One That Got Away” off his sophomore album Amos. (Catch our first impression of the album here.) Currently, the track is climbing the music charts and fans are loving the cool, catchy vibes of the song, as the singer consistently performs it at his live shows.

The video paints a perfect visual for the flirty song, showcasing Miami, Florida as a key component in telling the love story. Check out the captivating video below. Ray explains in a recent press release,  “We wanted to treat Miami as its own character in this video because we felt that this city really had a personality and an energy of its own — reminiscent of the energy I feel on stage night-after-night, city-after-city when we play this song live.”

Between utilizing authentic Miami locals, showcasing South Beach nightlife at its best, and the fun romance between the singer and a female bartender, Ray brings the lyrics to life, creating an unmistakable charm throughout the entirety of the music video.

The entertainer plays a disgruntled tourist, who is swept away by a beautiful stranger when she offers to show him how the locals view Miami. Admittedly the woman may be out of Ray’s league and the relationship may be short-lived, but the memories and magic of the night make it all worth it, as the lyrics state, “she might only be mine tonight / but that’s alright, that’s okay / she’s gonna be one hell of a one that got away.

Following the release of the music video for “One That Got Away,” the singer will be opening up for  Old Dominion on their extended Happy Endings World Tour,  accompanied by Brandon Lay, beginning this Fall. Keep checking our calendars, as we will be sure to add any potential New York dates.

Michael Ray included New York City’s Opry City Stage in one of the many stops he made during his album release week.  From the Grand Ole Opry Stage to Good Morning America and even Ellen, one of his final stops was NYC to play for fans at The Studio at Opry City Stage.

After being introduced by NASH Fm 94.7 DJs Katie Neal and Jesse Addy, Ray opened with “Fan Girl” from the new record as well as his debut number one breakout hit “Kiss You in the Morning”.  He then told the crowd about his brand new album and explained he would be playing each song for them.  Amos which was released this past Friday is an ode to Ray’s grandfather and his conviction when singing each song off the record truly comes to life when hearing the songs live.

“We’re going off of your energy here tonight New York City, we’ve been rolling since 3:45 AM”, he explained, referencing his early call time for Good Morning America. The crowd didn’t disappoint, they were singing along to the songs that were just released as if they had heard them hundreds of times. In between songs on the album Ray also covered Dwight Yoakam’s “Fast As You” as well as David Lee Murphy’s “Dust On The Bottle” after asking if there were any 90’s country fans in the audience tonight.

The intimate room of fans were excited to see such a high energy performance and get to hear each song from Amos live.  “Thanks to NASH FM 94.7 this next song is sitting at number 13 on the charts.  We just played this song on Ellen a few hours ago, this is the first single off the album, here’s “Get To You”, he said before playing his current radio single.  He closed with “Think a Little Less”, another hit from his debut self-titled album.  Take a listen to Amos and head to our Instagram for exclusive videos from the show.

The countdown continues as we give you our Top 10 New York Country Swag Moments of 2017.

Typically when people think of New York City, they do not necessarily think of country music. However, we are here to change that perception.  NYC and its surrounding areas are the home to at least one country show a week, if not more! Don’t believe us? just subscribe to our Weekly Round-Up, which highlights all upcoming events in the area. We promise to always have something to look forward to for the country fan in NYC.

In addition to shows and special events, artists often travel from Nashville to New York daily to promote their new music.  This brings us to our Top 10 New York Country Swag Favorite Moment of 2017, #4: “The Day of Four Shows.” Back in September, we caught up with four different country performances all in the same day, proving that not only is country music here, but it is thriving.

Our first stop was to the NASH FM Studios for a Stage 17 show featuring Thomas Rhett in honor of his brand new album, Life Changes.  Rhett answered questions for the NASH FM DJs and played songs off the new album including “Craving You” and “Unforgettable”. For the full recap of the exclusive performance as well as our First Impression of Life Changes click here.

Our second stop brought us to Times Square for one of our special Swag Sessions featuring Scooter Brown Band. The three men wearing cowboy hats played songs off their latest album, American Son and answered questions about their backstory and all about the new music.  Check out the video recap below.

As the sun began to set, we found ourselves back in Bryant Park for our third country show of the day, an Opry Circle Throwdown featuring Morgan Evans and Michael Ray. Both rising artists played on the Southwest Porch on a warm September night to fans and New Yorkers passing by in Bryant Park. Full recap and more pictures here.

Opry Circle in the City with Michael Ray and Morgan Evans

Morgan Evans, Opry Circle in the City

With a fall chill in the air, Thursday night at the Southwest Porch in Bryant Park was the perfect setting for some acoustic country music.  Circle in the City presented by Southwest and NASH FM 94.7 is a free show available to all those in New York City who want to experience a taste of Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry.

First up to stand in the Opry’s signature microphone was rising star, Morgan Evans who was introduced by NASH FM 94.7 DJ, Katie Neal.  Evans, who just released his first single in the U.S, hails from Austraila. He stood in the mini wooden circle to sing three songs including “Kiss Somebody”.  A highlight from the country crooner included a song called “Everything Changes”. Before singing Evans’ explained how quickly life can change, going from living in Austraila to moving to Nashville, meeting the love of his life and getting engaged.  For all those who don’t know, Evans is engaged to country superstar Kelsea Ballerini.

Michael Ray, Opry Circle in the City

Not only was the Southwest Porch filled with country fans, but the surrounding areas of Bryant Park had people holding up their phones to take videos and were singing along to the radio hits. Next to stand in the wooden circle was Florida native, Michael Ray.  Ray, who gratefully thanked Southwest and Nash FM for the opportunity to perform in NYC, sang songs including “Real Men Love Jesus”, his latest single “Get To You” and even a cover of Keith Whitley’s, “Don’t Close Your Eyes”.

“To be here representing the Grand Ole Opry is an unbelievable thing,” he said as he acknowledged the radio team here in New York, as well as everyone that works behind the scenes in the music industry.  To close out the night, Ray sang his first number one single, “Kiss You in the Morning” and even gave the fans a chance to sing along.

Missed the show? Check Out the Facebook live video from the Grand Ole Opry’s Page of Morgan Evans’ set here and Michael Ray, here.
