Madison Kozak Releases Infectious “OMG ILY”

OMG ILY

CMT Next Women of Country 2020 Inductee Madison Kozak released a new song on Friday, November 15th titled “OMG ILY”. The infectious tune was written by Kozak, along with Claire Douglas and Mark Trussell, and it was produced by Big Loud writer/producer Joey Moi.

“OMG ILY” continues the narrative that one of her most recent releases, “Click” started. This time around, Kozak is more comfortable in her relationship, but not as comfortable at the party she and her significant other are at. It’s “serving up straight ear candy”, as described in a press release, and the perfect bop that’s catchy and relatable at the same time.

This is the third new song Kozak has released in just a few weeks, following the vulnerable “Household” and jam ”Click”. In a recent interview with People Magazine, she described the song as the one she’s “most excited about”. It’s clear after this release that Kozak has really developed her sound, which is the perfect meld of 90s country, singer-songwriter, and modern pop. She always has infections hooks and harmonies, and her songs are instantly likable.

Seeing that Kozak is releasing great song after great song, it’s clear that she’s one of the hottest new country acts. Make sure to catch her on tour with Morgan Evans this fall and Chase Rice in 2020. New York City fans can catch her at Bowery Ballroom with Evans on December 7th.

To keep up with Madison Kozak, you can follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

“OMG ILY” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

Madison Kozak Releases Nostalgic New Song “Household”

Household Madison Kozak

Madison Kozak has been releasing fantastic song after song recently, and her newest song lives up to that expectation. “Household”, released Friday, November 8th is a nostalgic track that is perfect for fall and this upcoming holiday season.

Kozak wrote “Household” with Thomas Salter, Gordie Sampson, and Simon Wilcox, and the song was produced by Big Loud’s Joey Moi. Growing up in a household with seven siblings, she digs deep to channel the feeling of home.

“Household” is poignant in its composition entirely: both the lyrics and its production. The verses feature beautiful guitars that compliment the message the words portray, and there’s a perfect build-up when the chorus and second verse hit. The production is sweet and overflows with melodies.

It seems that Kozak’s specialty songwriting-wise is her use of imagery. You hear it on songs like “First Last Name” and “Hey Highway”. In “Household”, she takes her listeners back to her childhood home and hometown and describes what it felt like to live there growing up. She mentions the slightly out-of-tune piano and her parents wedding photo; the tape marks on the wall and the window she used to sneak out of; it’s detailed enough to make this song about Kozak’s life, but so many people out there can relate to this message, and that’s part of what makes this song so special.

She also sings about the struggle of leaving home, even though she loves her life in Nashville, saying, “I’m trying to pack light / But you can’t pack life in a Samsonite,” she sings on the harmony-driven chorus. Kozak is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new stars to look out for. She’s versatile but has a sincere sound, which is unique in a time where new music is being released constantly.

Madison Kozak will be on tour this fall with Morgan Evans. To find out if she’s playing in a city near you, visit her website. New York fans can catch the show on December 7th at Bowery Ballroom.

Madison Kozak Releases Catchy New Tune “Click”

Madison Kozak Click

There are so many promising new artists coming up through the ranks these days, and one of our favorites released a new single Friday, November 1st. “Click” is Madison Kozak’s second release to all-female record label Songs & Daughters, a new label created by the superwoman songwriter that is Nicolle Galyon in partnership with Big Loud Records. It’s the perfect song to get anyone out of their cold-weather blues.

The song is about the in-between of a blooming relationship- it’s too soon to be serious, but Kozak feels like the relationship just “clicks”- hence the title of the song. In a recent press release, it was described as “that fated – click – moment with a potential love interest, the butterflies-kinda-feeling tune”, and that could not be a more accurate statement.

Kozak collaborated with Big Loud Records producer Joey Moi and writers Mark Holman and Laura Veltz to create the poppy song. There are stacks of guitar, harmonic vocals, and catchy drums that reel the listener right in. For those who don’t know Kozak, there’s almost no way for people not to become a fan; her sound is reminiscent of Kelsea Ballerini with catchy hooks like Morgan Wallen offers.

Madison Kozak will be on tour this fall with Morgan Evans. To find out if she’s playing in a city near you, visit her website. New York fans can catch the show on December 7th at Bowery Ballroom.

Madison Kozak Releases Brand New Love Song “Little Bit Of You”

Madison Kozak

Nicolle Galyon’s flagship artist for her Songs & Daughters record label, Madison Kozak is making waves in the country music scene. The talented singer-songwriter premiered her debut single “First Last Name,” back in July, but today she released even more new music. Kozak debuted her new single, “A Little Bit of You,” with a sassy music video to accompany it.

The new song is one of the four tracks off her EP Heartbreak School. The song is complete with clever word-play, an enticing rhythm, and relatable lyrics. Kozak’s vocals shine, as she expresses choosing love over everything. Even though we all think sometimes that having money, getting to travel or “having it all,” can sweeten life, the songstress reminds us that all we really need is love.

“Don’t need a million in the bank or a better town / But I could use a little bit of you right now / I could have it all and still be missin’ out / Cause I could use a little bit of you right now”

In the video Kozak plays two roles, an extravagant rich girl and a chill girl, undone, hanging with her boyfriend. The juxtaposition of the roles perfectly personifies the message of this stunning song. She continues to show off her personality and unique perspective throughout her creative music.

Look out for Kozak as she is an absolute force to be reckoned with. She makes her Grand Ole Opry debut this Saturday night, October 26th in Nashville. This winter, Kozak will join Morgan Evans on tour, stopping in New York City on December 7th. For tickets and more information, head to madisionkozak.com

Morgan Evans, Madison Kozak & Chris DeStefano Announce World Tour

Morgan Evans Chris DeStefano Madison Kozak

Just announced, Morgan Evans is heading out on a world tour with special guests Madison Kozak and Chris DeStefano. Warner Music Nashville recording artist, and songwriter, Evans impressed U.S country fans when his American debut, “Kiss Somebody” hit the top spot on the charts. The Australian native’s album Things That We Drink To has garnered millions of streams and he will now be bringing one man band style of performance to 8 countries and over 25 dates.

“This tour feels like something I’ve been working toward forever and, at the same time, the start of something,” said Evans. “I couldn’t be more stoked to sing these songs all over the world over the next few months! Some places we are visiting for the first time and some places will feel like coming home but, no matter what, we’re gonna make a whole bunch of great memories together!”

Morgan Evans Chris DeStefano Madison Kozak

We’ve been fans of Evans since we caught his acoustic performance in Bryant Park back in the summer of 2017, naming him one of our 2018 Artists to Watch and since then we’ve watched his career blossom, selling out shows in New York City, making his television debut and releasing his incredible first album.

Joining Evans on his US and Canadian tour dates in one of our favorite rising female artists, Madison Kozak. The singer-songwriter is the flagship artist for Songs and Daughters, an all-female run by our Woman of the Month for July, Nicolle Galyon.  Her debut single, “First Last Name” is heartfelt and showcases honest songwriting. Read more about Kozak and thing single here.

For the Australian dates, Evans will bring along Grammy-winning songwriter Chris DeStefano. He has co-penned over 20 hit songs for artists like Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Chase Rice, Rascal Flatts, Billy Currington, Dan+Shay, Miranda Lambert, Chris Young, and of course, he co-wrote “Kiss Somebody” amongst others with Morgan Evans. We caught DeStefano at Opry City Stage last year when he performed some of those big hits in a songwriter round.

The tour is hitting the NYC area on December 7th at The Bowery Ballroom. For more information about the tour and for tickets head to MorganEvansMusic.com

Madison Kozak Releases Poignant “First Last Name”

Madison Kozak

Earlier this week, songwriter Nicolle Galyon announced that she was partnering with Big Loud Records to head a brand new, all-female record label, Songs & Daughters. Galyon is best known for writing songs for other artists but now takes on a different, almost motherly role as she will nurture each of the “Daughters” on her label. The first daughter is Madison Kozak, an artist we first highlighted back in May when our Managing Editor, Christina chose her song “Graduation Day” as her May Pick of the Month.

Today, (July 26th) Kozak released her first single as a signed artist titled “First Last Name”, a song she wrote for her dad this past Father’s Day. The poignant song dedicated to a girl’s first love, her daddy, will make you instantly become a fan of the singer-songwriter. Written with Claire Douglas and James Slater, “First Last Name” has a similar sentiment to any great father-daughter song, “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle and “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, however, this time, it’s the daughter singing the song.

She begins by giving details all about the man who she looks up to by singing in the chorus, “He’s the son of a salesman / short glass old fashioned / ‘How’s your car been runnin’ baby?’ /  ‘Call your mama when you get home safely’ / Sawdust and stained, my heart, my John Wayne / my first last name” and with each verse you grow up with the vocalist.

From playing guitars in the kitchen while they did dishes together, swinging on a tire swing, to walking down the aisle together at her wedding, you watch their relationship change as she grows up but one thing never waivers, their love for each other. In the final chorus, she changes the last few lines, “How are things goin’ lately, stop on by, bring the baby / people they say, I’m more like him everyday /  He can give me away but no one can take, my first last name”. We’ll be shocked if you don’t need to go grab a tissue or two after listening.

“First Last Name” is the perfect song for a father-daughter dance at a wedding, we bet you’ll hear this one this fall after the bride and groom cut their cake. With such an incredible first release, we can’t wait to see what is next from the young singer-songwriter.

“First Last Name” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
