Exclusive Interview: Easton Corbin Chats About New Single “Didn’t Miss A Beat”

Easton Corbin Didn't Miss A Beat

As the end of this season quickly approaches, summer romances have run their course and the fall routine is about to commence. Singer-songwriter Easton Corbin just released a track that will help all of those couples who eventually will part but may find their way back to each other again. “Didn’t Miss A Beat” is an uptempo jam that was written Corbin along with Brad Clawson, Shane Minor, and Wade Kirby.

In a recent chat with Corbin, NYCountry Swag discussed his latest track as well as his exciting plans to play the song on The Today Show on September 3rd. The play on words relating the couple to music on a record player is clever and perfectly in tune. “Right on time, in the groove, you and me, like we didn’t miss a beat”. Corbin says of the song, he loves the story it tells and how it conveys the tale of getting right back on track, right where you left off.

We discuss the ever-changing genre and how he has evolved throughout his career. “For me, it’s about keeping one foot in the traditional and one foot in the modern,” he tells us. “It changes as we go and as the genre changes, you have to stay relevant and continue to evolve but you still have to stay you, can’t go out there and chase something and be something you’re not.”

With live shows being on pause for the moment, Corbin tells us that he is excited to be able to use technology to entertain his fans and that he is excited to be able to film a performance of “Didn’t Miss A Beat” for NBC’s Today Show which will air September 3rd. Don’t miss the performance and the forthcoming music video for the track!

Easton Corbin Is Back with New Single, “Turn Up”

Easton Corbin Turn Up

It feels like forever since talented singer-songwriter Easton Corbin has released any new music. Fans can revel in excitement as the artist officially released a new tune today, “Turn Up.” The new release follows the buzz around the ten year anniversary of Corbin’s number one hit “A Little More Country Than That.”

The new jam is the perfect country song for your playlist, as we head into the summer. Corbin’s southern drawl is on full display, as he sings the cleverly-strung together lyrics. Of course, the main message of the song is to have some fun and to “turn up,” but Corbin finds a way to cleverly weave the “turn up” phrase throughout the hook and chorus. For example, “Let’s turn up that river bank dirt road / I’ll turn up that country boy charm,” and then mixes it up again with the lyric, “Turn up a little Conway Twitty / We might just turn up in love.”

The new song marks the first release off a new EP slated to come out sometime later in the year. Although it’s a different sound than the song that made us fall in love with Corbin’s unique sound, “Turn Up” has the personality and the vibe that is unique to his artistry. We love seeing artists take risks, and we are excited to see what the singer’s next release will sound like!

Easton Corbin Releases New Music For the First Time in Years

Easton Corbin has had successful hits including “A Girl Like You” and “All Over The Road” but it has been almost 4 years since we have seen an album release. For fans waiting for new music, wait no longer. Corbin just released his newest single “Somebody’s Gotta Be Country” along with a new music video.

While Corbin has continued to tour all across the country, he surprised fans last week with a free show at Nashville’s The Stage on Broadway, where he performed the new single among other hits. Written by talented songwriters Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson, and Rhett Akins, the new song calls out the fact that maybe country music isn’t so country anymore although Corbin is here to keep it that way.

“Somebody’s gotta party till the stars burn out / There’s some worn-out boots in a high-class crowd / All my rowdy buddies keep settling down / Somebody’s gotta be country in this town / Somebody’s gotta be country in this town.”

In the new video, Corbin shows off his true side with everyday things in the back of his truck. From driving his truck, moving hay, playing his guitar around a fire, he shows off what his life looks like outside of music. What fans might not know was this video was not staged at all. In one of his recent Instagram stories, he explained that he and his crew went out to a farm that he tends to spend a lot of time at, and really just spent the day doing what he would on any normal day, only this time, capturing it for the video.

We are hoping that with this new single comes more tour dates and possibly a new album. But in the meantime, “Somebody’s Gotta Be Country” is available now on all digital streaming platforms. Follow along on Corbin’s socials as well to get a heads up for tour dates, new music, and more!
