Ashley Cooke Drops Three New Songs Ahead of Upcoming Album

Ashley Cooke drops three new songs, including, “mean girl,” “shot in the dark,” and “tastes like,” out now on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new tracks below.

Superstar in the making, Ashley Cooke just shared some exciting news with her fans! Cooke’s debut album, Shot In The Dark is officially dropping on July 21st, featuring 24 brand new songs. In celebration of the news, the singer-songwriter is sharing three new songs with fans including a collaboration with Colbie Caillat called, “mean girl,” the title track, and a song called, “tastes like.”

In a recent press release, Cooke shared, “It’s been full of bucket list moments for me… I made my Opry debut, signed my first deals, went on tours with my heroes, and lived a lot of life in the moments in between. This album is about all of that — and it’s about the magic that can come if you really take risks in life and love.”

The first new song released today is one of the few collaborations on Cooke’s upcoming record. “mean girl” featuring Colbie Caillat is a beautiful reminder of the power of sisterhood. While the song is melancholy in nature, it is a reminder to the girlfriend of your ex to pay attention to the signs in the relationship. Heartbreaking, yet beautiful, “mean girl” is one of Cooke’s best songs to date. Cooke and Caillat are truly the pair we never knew we always needed!

“Where there’s some, there’s always a fire // and he’s got the lighter // this ain’t me being mean girl // I just hate to see a good heart hanging on as string, girl // It sure looks a. Lot like love, but what you don’t see, girl // is all those cards slid so far up his sleeve, girl // when he says you’re the only one take it from me // it’s just another thing // that he doesn’t mean, girl”

As for the title track, “shot in the dark,” Cooke leans deeper into her songwriting prowess. “shot in the dark” depicts what it is like to find a love interest in the bar and feeling the rush of a first kiss. The song feels hopeful and alluring.

Finally, “tastes like” is a fun, party song. While Cooke is known for her personal lyrics, Cooke’s entertainer-side is on full display on this track. “tastes like” is a cheeky, summer-ready tune that is sure to get a lot of playing time during the singer-songwriter’s live shows this summer.

These three songs are proving that Cooke’s album is one to look out for. She is truly on the brink of superstardom, so if you are not yet a fan, now is the time to jump on the bandwagon!

Colbie Caillat Shares New Song, “Pretend” Ahead of Upcoming Album

Colbie Caillat shares new song “Pretend,” out now, June 9th, on all streaming platforms, ahead of new album, Along The Way. Listen to the brand new track and get all the details here.

In the new era of her career, Colbie Caillat is moving full steam ahead! Just a couple of months ago, the pop-country star released her new song, “Worth It.” Today, she is adding to her catalog of music with another new track called, “Pretend,” while simultaneously announcing that her next studio album, Along The Way is slated for release September 22nd.

Written by Caillat alongside prolific songwriters, Liz Rose and AJ Pruis, “Pretend’ truly speaks to Caillat’s one-of-a-kind artistry. A true storyteller at heart, the song is nostalgic by nature. The songstress reminisces what its as like to fall in love, even though it did not end the way she hoped. While the song might bring up melancholy feelings for some, Caillat frames the angst and heartbreak from a break-up with a fun-loving instrumental and truth-telling lyrics.

“Of that first summer night in the back of your truck // Kissing in the moonlight, stars above // Dancing in a field with the radio on // The moment we found our favorite song // Burning like a fire that would never go out // Heartache wasn’t something we were thinking about // That forever kinda feeling, then we found out // That this love, it wasn’t pretend”

In her fifteen plus year career, Caillat has garnered a loyal fanbase like no other. With the news of her new record coming in September, it is safe to say that the songstress’ staying power is as strong as ever!

Colbie Caillat Shares Brand New Song “Worth It”

Colbie Caillat’s new song “Worth It” is out now, April 21st, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

The new single is a heartbreakingly beautiful song all about a past love that has run its course. It is an honest reflection on a relationship that has run its course. Caillat drew from her own life as inspiration for the song. “I think that everyone can relate to drifting apart from a past love,” shared the singer in a recent press release. “Although it’s a painful process, it’s a beautiful thing to be able to look back at that time in your life with new perspective and realize that what was gained from that relationship was worth all of the low points.”

“I know it wasn’t perfect // But loving you was worth it // There’s still sweetness in the memories // Even after all the hurting // Even after all the long nights // Not quite // Knowing if it felt right  // I wouldn’t change a thing // I know it wasn’t perfect // But loving you was worth it”

Caillat is one of those artists that has the capability to transcend genres and generations. “Worth It” feels like the perfect reintroduction to the iconic songstress.
