Rodney Atkins Shares Brand New Song “The Years Are Short”

Rodney Atkins shares new song, “The Years Are Short”, out now, February 13th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new release below.

Rodney Atkins has truly transcended generations, planting his roots firmly into traditional country music, while bringing a catchy flair to all of his songs. The hitmaker returned after a three year hiatus with his song,“True South” last year, and now he’s gearing up for the release of his long-awaited studio project. Fans get another taste of the True South album today with the release of a brand new song. “The Years Are Short’ is out now.

On the brand new song “The Years Are Short,” Atkins signature gravely voice is on full display. The track is a sentimental reflection on fatherhood, where he looks back at eighteen years of raising his sons. Throughout the song, Atkins reminds parents to savor the little moments with their children. “The Years Are Short” is an honest, anecdotal song that will tug at anyone’s heartstrings, especially fellow parents.

“I got one that makes me pray // I got one that makes me cuss // Some days we’re raising them but then some days they’re raising us // We’ve learned to wave the white flag // Trade some battles for some wars // Cause the days are long // But the years are short”

Atkins’ resurgence feels like perfect timing. “The Years Are Short’ is an incredible reminder of his talent, and it makes us even more excited for the record, True South to come out on May 8th. Stay tuned!
