Tonight country music’s newest sensation Luke Combs was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Combs was asked to join the country music family by Chris Janson, who was inducted last year, Craig Morgan and John Conlee. The “Beautiful Crazy” singer shared on Facebook the day after: “This is the absolute feather in my cap for me as far as career goals. It is the absolute No. 1 thing for me. It cannot be surpassed. It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I made my debut. It’s such a storied thing. I was like, “I will do whatever it takes to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.” I just can’t believe it.”

Combs is the next member to be inducted, the last was Kelsea Ballerini back in April. Read all about her special night here. For Combs’ big night, country music’s Vince Gill and Joe Diffie had the honor of welcoming him into the prestigious group of inductees. Both inductors just so happen to be two of the “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer’s heroes. Bill Cody, Opry host stated: “Luke was listening to Joe Diffie hits like “Pick Up Man” and “John Deere Green” before he went to kindergarten. Luke’s mom snuck him into his first country concert as a young child, on stage that night, Vince Gill”.

Both Gill and Diffie took turns voicing their praises and acceptance for Combs’ extraordinary talent. Gill shared, “It’s been going on for 93 years and it goes on because this stage represents the entire history of this music, not just what’s current,” speaking about the magic of the Grand Ole Opry.”You’re at the top of your game. You’re killing it and this place will benefit because you’ll come here!” Up next, Diffie announced Combs as “officially the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

Donning his signature black button-down and camo hat, a clearly awestruck Combs humbly thanked his supporters. After hugging each and every person on stage, Combs took the mic. With tears in his eyes, Combs expressed his gratitude to each and every person, who has supported him, adding a special thanks to his fans, “Thank you to the fans, you guys should always remember that you are the most important thing that we have […] Without you all, there is no country music. There is no Grand Ole Opry. Thank you so much for everything you guys do for making this possible for guys like us on this stage. I will never forget this night.”

Finally, Dustin Lynch, who was also recently inducted into the Opry officially welcomed Combs as “the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry” as a performer. Combs went on to perform his first song ever as an official member- marking one of the most prestigious honors of his blossoming career.

Combs will be back in Nashville in December for a double feature when he takes his extended headlining tour to Bridgestone Arena. For tickets and more information, head to lukecombs.com.
