Singer-songwriter Josh Ross is known for creating music that his fans love. While fans await his debut album Later Tonight, out September 19th, Ross is previewing new music off the record. His highly-awaited new single, “My Side Of Town” is officially out now.
Written by Jimmy Robbins, Seth Ennis, Josh Miller, and Abram Dean, “My Side Of Town” feels tailor-made to Ross’ sound and vocals. According to the the singer, the moment the song was pitched to him, he knew he had to have it. “[I] immediately resonated. Small towns talk, and a lot of times, only one side of a two-sided story gets heard. This song is for anyone who’s lived that – myself included,” shared the singer in a recent press release.
“My Side Of Town” is the story about a break-up that is a bit messier than one party wanted. Catchy, honest, and relatable, the song feels like another hit in the making for Ross.
“Expected dirty looks from your mama // Your friends to talk that smack // But I thought the folks would have my back // South of these train tracks // You got ‘em taking your side on my side of town // Looking at me like an outsider now // Like you buried my name baby six down // This break up’s kinda hard to live down // When they’re taking your side on my side of town // My side of town // My side of town”
