Don’t Miss Houston Bernard Band at Rockwood Music Hall
New York City country fans, be sure to catch Houston Bernard Band this Saturday night at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 from 7-8 PM. Bernard who was born in Oklahoma gathered together a band in New England and they tour the North East and beyond. Growing up he was influenced by everyone from Dwight Yoakam to the Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen to Bryan Adams, Elvis, and even the Beatles. Currently, the band is musically influenced by the rock and roll side of country music by artists like Eric Church, Brothers Osborne, and even classic Led Zeppelin.
Their current single “Never Grow Old” is about not caring how many birthday candles are on your cake each year but how you appreciate each and every single day. It was written by Bernard along with longtime cowriter, Mary Haller and is currently streaming on Spotify. “The New York City crowd is very particular about their music because there are so many options and genres, you have to work a lot harder to impress them which is good for us because we like the challenge,” Bernard says of the fan base. “I used to live in New York City years ago so it’s great to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones.”
