Home Free Mash Up Country Medley on The Today Show
You may recognize the Home Free as an American a cappella group of five vocalists acapella group from a few years ago when they competed on the show “The Sing-Off” or from one of our Swag Spotlights last year. The band members include Austin Brown (high tenor), Adam Chance (baritone), Tim Foust (bass), Rob Lundquist (tenor) and Adam Rupp (vocal percussion/beatboxer). Since then the group has been touring the world and this morning in celebration of their album release week, Home Free took the stage at NBC’s Today with Hoda and Jenna to perform a medley of some of country music’s classic hits.
The cohosts introduced the group by chatting with the band asking “What do you want people, when they listen to your music, what do you hope they take from it” they responded. “Just happiness, just joy, just take a little break from life and enjoy some good music.”
The quintet started their performance with Florida Georgia Line’s breakout hit “Cruise” sailing smoothly into Tom Cochrane’s original made even more popular by Rascal Flatts, “Life Is A Highway”. They ended their upbeat a capella performance with John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”. As they closed out the song, the invited all three hosts to join them in a sing-along.
Dive Bar Saints is available everywhere this Friday, check back for our First Impression of the record on Friday.
