Friday morning (Nov 30.), Country superstar Garth Brooks made an appearance on Live with Kelly & Ryan. Brooks chatted with the morning hosts about Christmas plans, performing, and his historic show at Notre Dame.

Brooks told the duo that he was looking forward to finally being able to celebrate Christmas with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, in the house they’ve built. Explaining that had been so busy touring, performing over 390 shows over the past three years that they weren’t able to spend much time in their home. Brooks added, “We actually saw fewer cities than we did in the 90s, it took about 70-something cities to 6 million tickets, it was unbelievable.”

Hosts, Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest asked Brooks if touring with Yearwood has brought the two closer together or if they need time apart. To which Brooks sweetly replied, “she might, but for me, I can’t spend enough time with that woman.” Seacrest asked if they pull any pranks on each other on the road, he replied “Here’s a great one, if it’s your birthday on the road you’re getting a pie in the face, doesn’t matter who you are. Last year we pied Trisha for her birthday and thank God she laughed.”

Seacrest also asked Brooks “What, for you, is the greatest part about being there up on stage and performing? “I know this is totally crazy and a total opposite way to think, but I travel so many miles to hear them sing,” Brooks said of his fans. “That’s it, I’m not singing at all,” he sarcastically added. He also spoke about his Notre Dame Stadium concert and talked about how much he has always wanted to play there. Brooks said, “In college, Joe Montana was my guy. I had green and gold all over my wall.”
