In a brand new project, some of country music’s greatest artists combined their talents to pay tribute to the legacy of the iconic duo, The Judds. Artists like, Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson, Dolly Parton, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Trisha Yearwood, Blake Shelton, and more take turns churning out stellar covers of some of The Judds’ most iconic songs.
“To have all of these artists, most of which are my friends, come together and lend their voices and artistry to reimagine these songs, is so special. These songs are so timeless and I am so excited for them to live on for generations to come,” shared Wynonna Judd in a recent press release.

“Boys Back Home” perfectly embodies the fun and upbeat side of both artists. While both Marlowe and Scott know how to deliver a heartfelt tune, it is exciting to hear what a more mid-tempo song sounds like from the singers. “Boys Back Home” is a feel-good anthem for small town living; however, the song came be applicable to anyone who misses their crew back home.

Born out of sharing iconic songs with his young daughter, Jolee Kate, Aaron Watson’s Cover Girl, out now, is a passion project of epic proportions. In addition to re-recording a wide range of classic songs, the Texas native enlisted a host of rising independent female country stars to join him, including Jenna Paulette, Kimberly Kelly, Bri Bagwell, Morgan Myrles, Kylie Frey, and more.
“I’ve gotten the chance to share the stage with a number of incredibly talented female artists who are hustling the independent game just like I am,” Watson shared. “When I decided to do the Cover Girl record, I knew I wanted to find females that I believed in and knew would be an asset to the song.”
The LP opens with Watson and Paulette joining forces on a classy cover of the Rosanne Cash classic, “Seven Year Ache.” Melodically, it stays true to the original but the duo still manages to modernize a song that’s over 30 years old. That theme works its way throughout the LP, as Watson and his duet partners consistently add a new flair to tried and true classics.
“9 To 5” features 2023 America’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Frey and stays true to the original, in a good way. While it’s musically very similar to the original, it’s unique to hear a male voice on the classic, which adds a new element in a way that doesn’t sound like karaoke. Likewise, Kimberly Kelly lends her voice to the classic “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma,” while Courtney Patton shines on The Judds’ “Grandpa (Tell Me About the Good Old Days).”
Watson manages to put a new Texan spin on Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons,” alongside Morgan Myles. The Gaga cover allows the pair to harmonize beautifully, their voices blending on the building crescendos of the powerful song which truly allow Myles to shine for a special moment on the LP.
UK export Twinnie joins Watson on “Back on the Train Gang,” adding a bit of twang to the Pretenders classic, a song written after the band’s guitarist died from a drug overdose. The pair manage to make the familiar track sound like it was always meant to be a country tune. Likewise, Jamie Lin Wilson sounds right at home on the stirring “Love at the Five and Dime,” while Bri Bagwell breathes different life into Sheryl Crow’s “Can’t Cry Anymore.” Alyssa Micaela’s raspy rock-leaning voice also adds an unexpected layer to the Emmylou Harris classic, “Two More Bottles of Wine.”
“All Through the Night” is another clear highlight, beautifully pairing Watson with Leigh Nash, best known for her days with Sixpence None the Richer. On the Cyndi Lauper classic, Nash’s voice is the star, shining in a haunting yet powerful way, her rich yet airy tone perfectly complimenting Watson.
Watson’s cover of Taylor Swift’s “Never Grow Up” is especially poignant, as it features vocals from the singer’s young daughter, who inspired the whole project. “If you’re going to sing someone else’s song, it has to be a song that you believe in,” He shared. “I was listening to (‘Never Grow Up’), and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you could totally sing this to your kids from a dad’s perspective to his daughter.’”
“My daughter, like most teenage girls and women on the face of the earth, is obsessed with Taylor Swift. She was insistent that I did a Taylor Swift song on this project and who can argue with that?,” Watson revealed in a recent interview. “I told her that if I covered Taylor she would have to sing with me on it! Then we had to choose the right song, right? …We did think about covering one of Tayor’s upbeat, popular songs but then we found ‘Never Grow Up’ and it made for a perfect daddy/daughter moment. It’s such a sweet song and a song that I can listen to years in the future and hear Jolee at 13 on too.”

Today, Schuster releases the heartbreaking ballad, “Last Fall.”
Full of haunting emotion and grit, “Last Fall” tells the age-old story of a relationship running its course; despite, not wanting to feel the hurt that it is coming. Clearly inspired by John Mayer’s iconic song, “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” Schuster’s “Last Fall” is his country-rendition of a similar topic. Throughout the song, the singer pleads for his love to stay just a little longer, not wanting to feel the imminent pain that is coming his way.

Country music never forgets to appreciate and pay homage to the musical acts that paved the way for modern-day musicians both in and out of the genre. In a new project called A Tribute To The Judds, artists are getting together to cover the iconic songs in The Judds’ catalog.
Back in August, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton shared their rendition of “Love Is Alive” and last month, Wynonna Judd and Trisha Yearwood released their cover of the iconic song, “Cry Myself To Sleep.” Today, superstars Lainey Wilson and Dolly Parton are lending their voices to “Mama He’s Crazy.”
On “Mama He’s Crazy,” both Parton and Wilson show off their incredible vocals and storytelling ability. Both entertainers bring a new spirit and life to the iconic track. The song is all about finally letting your guard down for love, a beautiful sentiment that Parton and Wilson pay homage to throughout their cover of the track.

ERNEST is one of the most in-demand songwriters in Nashville but has been working on his craft as a performer in recent years. After dropping the massive 24-track Flower Shops (The Album): Two Dozen Roses in February, “Kiss Of Death” provides listeners with a preview of his new era of music. While he typically blends charming lyrics over a simple melody with a splash of tropical vibes, ERNEST goes with a bluegrass feel on this new tune, full of banjo and steel guitar.
Written with Andy Albert and Ryan Vojtesak, the song describes the dangerous lust of a man. He calls her an angel in a fire red dress and knows her kiss may be the death of him, but his intense desires have pushed all rational thought to the side, at least for this moment.

For U.S. Army Veteran, Craig Morgan, the word enlisted holds a lot of meanings. However, in the context of his new EP, out now, it has to do with the famous friends he enlisted to join him on his new project. On the six song project, simply titled Enlisted, Morgan has re-recorded four of his biggest hits and added two new songs along with famous friends like Trace Adkins, Luke Combs, Gary LeVox, Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, and Lainey Wilson.
“Making this record has been so much fun because I got to get in the studio with some of my friends and also re-create some of my catalog in a way that feels like brand-new music,” shared the Broken Bow Records artist.
The new tracks on the EP include its anthemic opener, “Raise the Bar,” which pairs him with Combs and its closing song with Adkins, “This Ain’t Gonna Be Me.” On the single-ready “Raise the Bar,” the pair trade vocals about a stop at a local bar to raise a toast to the hard-working men and women of the country. Meanwhile, “This Ain’t Gonna Be Me” allows Morgan to proclaim his values and what’s important to him. “For me, it’s about God and family and country,” Morgan says. “I am so blessed, and I recognize the blessings of the freedoms we celebrate in this nation.”
The reimagined tracks are just as special, with an especially poignant moment taking place on the new version of “Almost Home,” which pairs Morgan with the golden-voiced Jelly Roll. For Jelly, the song provided a beacon of hope when he was incarcerated and inspired his artistry. “This song is full circle for me. It’s about situations you are sometimes in that you just mentally want to be somewhere else — ‘Almost Home’ — it’s something that I listened to in jail,” he shares. “Me and my cellmates could really relate to it. When I got out, I spent what little money I had and went to see Craig Morgan at the Grand Ole Opry and cried when he sang it.”
Morgan’s duet with LeVox is another standout moment, as the pair take the classic, “That’s What I Love About Sunday” to new heights. Together, Morgan’s powerful baritone perfectly compliments LeVox’s falsetto and they turn the well-known track into a stunning, Gospel-tinged track that’s sure to induce chills as it’s mixed with “Amazing Grace.”
Shelton joins his longtime friend on an almost tropical version of “Redneck Yacht Club,” for which he appeared in the original video back in 2005. “Craig and I have been friends for many years. I’m a fan of his music and admire him as a human,” shares Shelton. “After all of these years, I still don’t understand why he still feels the need to wear that toupee, but I’m thrilled he asked me to sing with him on ‘Redneck Yacht Club.’”
Lainey Wilson is the sole female duet partner on the album, adding her gorgeous vocals to “International Harvester,” a song she grew up on. “It’s an absolute honor to be a part of this record,” she admits. “I remember the first time I ever heard ‘International Harvester’ and the feeling I got knowing that there was music being written that felt like it was made just for me. I come from a family of farmers, so it’s really a full circle moment to be on this track alongside my good friend Craig.”
With a mix of old and new, Craig Morgan continues to shine on his new EP, and we’re so grateful.

The Beginning:
A little over three years ago, back in 2020, we introduced you to a new artist, who was making waves on social media: Tiera. Flash forward to today, Tiera, who now goes by her full name, Tiera Kennedy has landed herself both a publishing deal and a record deal. We caught up with the singer-songwriter to learn about how she got to where she is today and to talk all about her new music. Keep reading to find out more.
“I’m from Birmingham, Alabama, and I’ve always loved music for as long as I can remember,” she began. “I guess it kind of like blossomed when I was in middle school. I started writing songs and fell in love with country music.” Throughout her upbringing, Kennedy recalls listening to a ton of country music and writing songs at a young age.
“I grew up in the age of Taylor Swift, the beginning of her career, and I just fell in love with all of her songs, like so many of us did,” shared the songstress. “She was writing a lot of songs about boys, and that’s where I was in my life. I started to do the same, I would perform those songs around my school, and just like the response from that made me actually believe I could do it for my career. I was definitely in to do it for the long haul.”
Kennedy credits influences from 90s country and artists like Swift and Carrie Underwood for her early love for music and songwriting. These influences stayed with her throughout her career while she built upon even more musical influences too. “I listen to just about everything. I love 90s country, that’s my ultimate jam,” shared Kennedy. Adding, “I’m super random with what I listen to. I listen to Scottish music and Irish music sometimes, and R&B stuff. I really gravitate towards things that make me feel good. When I get into the writer’s room, those are the kind of songs I like to write. I feel like everybody has a bunch of different influences, nobody listens to one thing.”
The Turning Point:
After writing her first song in high school and teaching herself how to play guitar, Kennedy had her heart set on attending Nashville’s Belmont University. However, as plans changed, she ended up attending the University of Northern Alabama for one year on a full-ride scholarship instead before changing trajectories. “Eventually, after a year in college, my parents let me drop out and move to Nashville, and I’ve been here about 7 years.”
Throughout her seven years in town, Kennedy networked with as many people as she possibly could to get her name and her music out there. “I just hit the ground running as soon as I got here. I had a show my first night there, at the Listening Room, and I was really just trying to get a foot in everywhere I could. I would write with anybody and everybody. I would take every single meeting.”
In the early stages of her career, Kennedy did whatever it took to advance her career and dream. “Those first couple of years, I played at a couple of restaurants and hotel lobbies. I was just making tips from there, and looking back, I feel like it really taught me how to hold a crowd and how to entertain people.”
After a few years, Kennedy finally landed her publishing deal as the flagship songwriter for Nicolle Galyon’s Songs & Daughters. “They signed me to my deal with Big Loud’s Songs & Daughters and Warner Chappell, so I finally got my publishing deal.”
At around the same time, Kennedy’s music started taking off on social media. Her song, “Found It In You” became her first viral hit. “Record labels started to take notice and I started taking those meetings, and I wasn’t really planning to sign a deal at the moment, I just thought it would be fun because I really loved being an independent artist, so I was kind of going back and forth, but then I had a meeting with Big Machine, and I just fell in love with them. They were everything that I wanted in a label.”
Today:
Flash forward to today, Kennedy is a signed artist who is ready to take the world by storm. “I really hope when people hear this music they think I’m a friend,” she shared. Her current single, “Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist” is growing in popularity, as the song really speaks to the singer’s talent as a vocalist and as a storyteller.
““Jesus, My Mama, My Therapist” is this new era of music for me,” she begins. Adding, “I wrote this song on a writer’s retreat with some of my favorite co-writers. […] It was one of the last songs we wrote for the retreat, so we really got to just have fun, and write a fun song, and not think too much about it. According to Kennedy, the song is meant to be a relatable, fun song with heart. “The three people I can depend on are Jesus, my mama, and my therapist. It was really cool to have fun with this song, and not be too serious. It’s a little different, sound-wise, from anything I’ve put out, and it’s really shaped the next music we’re going to put out, too. It’s a lot more country, which I love and I think the fans will love it too.”
Fans can look forward to more new music from Kennedy coming down the pipeline soon. “I have pretty much finished the album, so we’ve got all the songs together, and I’ve been teasing some of them, but there’s definitely songs people haven’t heard. People can expect to get to know me better.” Stay tuned!
