Elvie Shane shares brand new song “Forgotten Man” out now, March 31st, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.
A year and a half after his debut album, Backslider, Elvie Shane is back with more original music. Like everything that came before it, Shane’s new song “Forgotten Man” is an ode to his upbringing and his country-rock roots. The new single is the perfect addition to the hitmaker’s growing catalog.
Written by Shane with Dan Couch, Luke Preston, and Oscar Charles, “Forgotten Man” is the ultimate song for the hard-working people who do whatever it takes to make ends meet, while still standing up for what they believe in. According to the singer this song is “the song I’ve been trying to write since I started all this.” He also shared that the American dream is something that evokes a lot of feelings, adding, “I’m wearing that [Forgotten Man] patch, too. I’m out here trying to give an honest account of who I am and put an honest effort into what I do. I actually do give a sh*t, and I will place my bet on those people I’m singing about in this song against all odds.”
“I got a little white house with a flag in the front // Way that it is, is the way that it was // Dirt turns to mud here, steel turns to rust // The color of my neck’s still the same as my blood // Daddy spent his whole life working for a dollar // Name on his patch, more like a badge of honor // Sent me off to school, tried to turn me to a scholar // Can’t unpaint the blue on my collar”
Shane is a unique talent in country music right now. It will be exciting to see what this new era of music brings!

The new track is a true ode to both country living and the people that do not give up no matter what obstacles are in their way. Neon Union proves both their songwriting prowess and incredible vocals on this one-of-a-kind new song. Written by the singers with Bob DiPiero and Brandon Hood, each artist takes turns singing their own verse and conveying a beautiful story of resilience. However, the real magic happens, when the duo comes together, harmonizing on the chorus.
“This is for the middle of nowhere // Tall corn grows there // In rows that go for miles // This is for first generation // Dreams in the makin’ // Chasin’ a chance for a better life // Here’s to mud on your boots // Puttin’ red, white and blue // Roots in God’s green earth // In American dirt”

HunterGirl shares brand new song “Lonely Outta You,” out now, March 31st, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.
American Idol sweetheart and talent, HunterGirl is sharing more new music with her growing fanbase. Back in October, the singer-songwriter made her major-label debut with her song “Hometown Out Of Me.” Today, the songstress is releasing her new song, “Lonely Outta You.”
The singer’s brand new song is a touching song about trying to help someone you love release their fear of falling in love. Instead of singing about heartbreak from a first-person narrative, HunterGirl shares the story of what it would be like to help someone else learn to love again after heartbreak. It is a true testament of love and patience can cure anything.
“That don’t mean that they don’t hold no wait // Tell me who got you believing // that loving somebody ain’t safe // I don’t think that you need fixing // I just know would be different // Looking in your eyes, if you let me hide // I want to love the lonely outta you”
HunterGirl is a true talent in the Nashville music scene. She creates music that is clearly from the heart, drawing from her own experiences and years of songwriting in the songwriting community in Music City. “Lonely Outta You” is a great song to add to her growing catalog of music.

With a killer catalog of songs to choose from, we are sharing our favorite Sam Hunt songs that we wish we heard on country radio. Check it out below.
“2016” – Southside
The opening track on Sam Hunt’s highly anticipated sophomore album is one of the most evocative tracks in his discography. In this song, he owns up to many things in his past, and it’s written almost like a letter. It’s honest and painful, but it’s the truth – something country radio can never have too much of.
“Vandalizer” – Between The Pines
This sweet love song on Hunt’s acoustic project following Montevallo is so simple and clever. A lot of Hunt’s songs about love lean on the more serious side, and there’s just something so adoringly naive about the track that would have sounded amazing coming through the country airwaves.
“Bottle It Up” – Between The Pines
Another track off of the acoustic mixtape is “Bottle It Up”, and it is the perfect summer, windows-down-on-a-truck-radio song. It’s universal and simple, yet tells a vivid story. It would’ve been a great radio single.
“Young Once” – Southside
“Young Once” has all the fixings of a great Sam Hunt single. It’s not a tear-jerker, but it’s also still thoughtful. Country radio singles are notorious for nostalgic songs, and this fits the bill. It would have been a great follow-up after “Breaking Up Was Easy In The ‘90s”.
“Single for the Summer” – Montevallo
Although almost every song on Sam Hunt’s debut record Montevallo was a hit, one of its standouts is actually a B-side. “Single For The Summer” has a pulsing country/r&b production that disguises how haunting it truly is, and we think it would have made for a particularly interesting single. Sometimes people forget just how great of a songwriter and storyteller Hunt is, and this song proves just that.

Who is RaeLynn? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…
Quick Facts:
Full Name – Racheal Lynn “RaeLynn” Davis
Birthday – 5/4/1994
Hometown – Baytown, Texas
Current City – Nashville, Tennessee
Musical Influences – Dolly Parton & family
Latest Release – “Raisin’ Me A Country Girl” (*as of date of article: 03/27/2023)
The Beginning:
Today’s spotlight artist truly needs no introduction. A mainstay in country music over the last decade, we are sharing singer-songwriter RaeLynn’s impressive career so far. We chatted with the songstress all about how she got to Nashville and where she is now.
RaeLynn grew up in Baytown, Texas, just outside of Houston. She is a proud Texan, and truly drew inspiration from her hometown in the music she created in her later years. However, music has always been the fabric of her upbringing. “I grew up in a very musical family. It was almost like – you know in some families, it’s weird if you don’t play sports, well in our family, it was weird if you didn’t play music,” began the singer.
“Everything revolved around church. Everything was about Sunday morning service and youth group, and all the things, and not even just christian music, but also country music. Growing up a Texas girl, we would go to the Houston livestock rodeo every single year. Country music was my backbone.”
For RaeLynn, she always connected to the lyrics of a country song, drawing inspiration from artists like Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert. “There was something about the storytelling of country music that I just fell in love with,” shared the songstress, adding, “I started writing when I was 13 and I kind of picked up the guitar, just playing random Miranda Lambert songs and whatever I could learn on YouTube.”
Armed with a dream and a passion, upon graduating high school early, RaeLynn started making trips to Nashville to pursue her calling.
The Turning Point:
Fresh out of high school, RaeLynn told her parents to just give her a couple of years to “make it” in country music. “I told my parents, just give me a couple of years to get a record deal and a publishing deal […] I didn’t really have a backup plan,” she shared, adding, “Their faith in me gave me the faith to go out and do what I knew I could do.”
While in Nashville, the songstress decided to audition for the popular show, ‘The Voice.’ “I decided to audition for ‘The Voice,’ and after that honestly, that show was kind of a rocket ship into my life now. I didn’t win the show, but after the show was over for me, I went back to Nashville, moved all my stuff from Texas and began to start this grind in country music to really work hard. I didn’t realize songwriting could be a job.”
From that point on, RaeLynn did whatever she could to network and build her portfolio both as a songwriter and an artist. “I got my first record deal at 18 years old, and after that, started getting on big tours, and started meeting a lot of awesome people in the industry.” Little did she know that in just ten years in the industry, she would have dropped two full records that fans loved.
Today:
While RaeLynn has always personified sassy, confident, and cool, her music now speaks to the experience and groundedness she has found in the industry and in her personal life as a mother and as a wife. “Ten years ago, my happiness was where my song was on the charts, and all my identity was wrapped up in RaeLynn and who I am on Music Row,” began the artist. “Now my identity is not wrapped up in that, it’s wrapped up in being a good wife, a good mother, a good friend, a good daughter, and those things, the things that really matter in life. And I feel like when you have that perspective, it pours out in your music.”
Currently, the singer is creating music that is truly coming from the depths of her soul. Her single, “Raisin’ Me A Country Girl” being one of them. “So I wrote “Raisin’ Me a Country Girl” when I was 8 months pregnant with a guy named Will Bundy and Rhett Akins,” shared RaeLynn. “I had this idea for this song because growing up I was the kid in a sundress, my hair in pigtails, playing in the sandbox, playing in the dirt, with my Barbie jeep, drinking out of a water hose, doing all the things. I was a little country, redneck kid. […] When I was thinking about a love letter to Daisy, I hoped to be raising a country girl. I want her to be tough, I want her to be sweet, I want her to be confident. I want her to love Jesus and know that values matter in this world, and have a strong heart for people, and always be a good person, and honestly the things that my parents instilled in me, and I want to instill that in her.”
The track is the country song that little girls everywhere needed. In add-on, RaeLynn partnered with the organization Operation Underground Railroad to support their mission to stop human trafficking. Find out more here. And most recently, RaeLynn has shared her newest single, “Broken One.” The song speaks to what it was like growing up in a divorced household.
Both “Raisin’ Me A Country Girl” And “Broken One” are the lead singles of RaeLynn’s upcoming record Funny Girl, slated for release this August. “I’m working on my record […] I definitely have some really sweet, love songs to Daisy and my husband, but I also have some songs about what I’ve been going through, but also those really fun, uptempo country songs.”

With a killer catalog of songs to choose from, we are sharing our favorite Morgan Wallen songs that we wish we heard on country radio. Check it out below.
“Happy Hour” – If I Know Me
In this fun bar tune, Wallen sings about a recent breakup. The ex-girlfriend may think he’s in a “deep and dark depression,” but instead he’s at Happy Hour because “happy ours” is over.
“Had Me By Halftime” – If I Know Me
Although in reverse order, this deep cut from his debut album feels like the sequel to his new song “Tennessee Fan” from his latest project. In “Had Me By Halftime,” the singer admires the girl’s passion for the team, so much so that he finds himself watching her cheer on the team more than the team itself. A perfect song to blast at a football tailgate!
“865” – Dangerous: The Double Album
If Tommy Tutone can make “867-5309” the most memorable phone number in the world, Wallen can make 865-409-1021 a close second. For the singer in this track, it doesn’t matter what he’s drinking—it will cause him to dial those ten digits and attempt to persuade her to come over and spend the night. A relatable result of drinking for many going through a breakup.
“Somethin’ Country” – Dangerous: The Double Album
In “Somethin’ Country”, this upbeat, rocking, southern-life anthem, the singer wants to show this girl the best parts about being unapologetically country. Wallen raps the second half of the chorus, making it a fun challenge for listeners to sing along to.
“Bandaid On A Bullet Hole” – Dangerous: The Double Album
Initially released as a bonus track exclusively on the Target-edition of Dangerous, this somber ballad features a man going through a breakup. Every quick-fix effort fails, stating trying to patch his heart up with whiskey and old country songs is like putting a band-aid on a bullet hole. A funny comparison to a gloomy message.
BONUS: “He Went To Jared” – HARDY ft. Morgan Wallen
Best friends, Wallen and HARDY have many songs together, but none more iconic than this track off HARDY’s Hixtape Vol. 1. This story is about a girl who ran off with another guy because he was more sophisticated than the protagonist. One went to college and got a well-paying white-collar job, while theother is working in fields every day until sundown making ends-meet. The duo uses great writing techniques to make this a fun and extremely catchy song that is almost impossible not to sing along with.

Luke Combs’ new album, GETTIN’ OLD is out now, March 24th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new album below.
A mere nine months since the release of the 3x Grammy-nominated, Growin’ Up, Luke Combs is back with its new companion project, Gettin’ Old. Featuring eighteen new tracks, fifteen of which he co-wrote, the fourth studio album continues to exemplify why Combs is country music’s fastest-rising star.
Of the album, he says, “This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through or will go through. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record, and I hope you love it as much as we do.”
With his unassuming nature and powerhouse voice, the North Carolina native continues to make music that is the perfect mix of radio-ready yet meaningful, nostalgic yet modern. It never feels like Combs is chasing trends or trying to be something he’s not, but instead, he’s blazing his own trail on a road that not many have been able to perfectly navigate.
A perfect example of this is one of three songs not co-penned by Combs, a smooth cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1988 megahit, “Fast Car.” Here, he manages to stay true to the original, while still Comb-ifying it in just the right ways. Similarly, “Fox in the Henhouse” is a bluesy, soulful track that allows Combs to stretch his vocals over a blistering instrumentation that isn’t likely to be heard on country radio, but could easily be a duet with Chris Stapleton.
Nostalgia and simplicity are prevalent themes throughout the album, weaving through the appreciation of life in the form of “Five Leaf Clover” and the 90s-inspired “Hannah Ford Road.” There’s “Back 40 Back,” an ode to simpler times, and a love letter to a deceased father in the form of “See Me Now.” On “Back 40 Back,” Combs longs for progress to slow down as everything is “changing way too fast,” while “See Me Now” has him yearning for more time with someone who has passed. “I’d like to think you’d be the proudest guy in town,” He sings over twangy instrumentation. “If I could see you, see me now.”
“Where the Wild Things Are” is the perfect story song, dealing with two brothers on different paths, while “The Beer, the Band, and the Barstool” is the epitome of a true country song. Likewise “Joe” tells the tale of someone dealing with alcohol addiction and subsequent sobriety, in a way that Combs hopes will relate to fans who love country music, but don’t drink.
“There have been some folks in my family that have struggled with alcoholism and addiction through the years,” Combs wrote. “I’ve got buddies who live a sober lifestyle, and I’m sure y’all know someone who has struggled with these types of things, or maybe you, yourself do. This song is really important to me for that reason.”
The album’s opening track is the perfect bridge between this album, and the last, as he’s “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old.” Here, Combs is coming of age and slowing things down, knowing there are things he can do, but probably shouldn’t.
“But I can still raise hell all night with the boys when I want to // Lay that hammer down to see how fast she’ll go // But these days I hang my hat on what I won’t do // And I’ve been finding peace of mind, slowing my roll // You learn to tow that line with time, as it goes In the middle of growin’ up, and gettin’ old.”
“You Found Yours” is an immediate earworm about that special moment when something just feels right, ranging from a pup to a car to a girl. “When you feel that kind of feeling,” he sings, “Yeah you found yours…that living, breathing reason you’ve been looking for.” Likewise, “Still” is a similarly twangy ode to that someone special with a clever lyrical twist. “I’m still falling for you girl,” He croons. “From the second that I saw you, my whole world stood still.”
The clever “A Song Was Born” amusingly tackles all of the ways in which a song comes to life, while “My Song Will Never Die” deals with the fact that Combs will eventually pass on, but his songs will live forever. “It ain’t about the leaving, it’s in what you leave behind,” He sings stoically. “I will, but my song will never die.”
Gettin’ Old concludes with the stirring “The Part,” a sparse ballad about the downsides of stardom and the elements that are never mentioned when the life of a touring musician is celebrated.
“They tell you ’bout the old guitars // The songs that bought the house and cars // And how your hometown’s proud of where you are // And they tell you ’bout the girls you’ll get // But not the one you’re gonna miss // While they scream your name again in some small town // Yeah, that’s the part, they don’t tell you about.”
While Luke Combs may think he’s Gettin’ Old, the new release shows his growth as a singer, a songwriter, a vocalist, and an overall artist. In fact, many things just get better with age, and rather than Gettin’ Old, this album could’ve been titled “Gettin’ Even Better.”

Madeline Merlo shares brand new song “same car,” out now, March 24th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.
Back in September, we fell in love with Canadian country artist, Madeline Merlo’s EP, Slide. Today the talented songstress is continuing to give fans more and more music. Her relatable and heartbreaking song “same car,” is officially out now.
While the new single may be about a break-up, Merlo’s signature sass and confidence can be felt all throughout the song. Merlo conveys the honesty of falling in love and becoming heartbroken in the same car, in the most relatable way. Despite the heartbreak and the vulnerability of the track, the song feels primed for singing along and screaming to in the car and during live shows.
“You pulled up at my house early that night // but something felt off // You couldn’t even look me in the eyes // when you said “we need to talk” // It went sideways in the driveway, and you never even put it in drive // If I go back take it all back // I’d give back every midnight”
Merlo’s pop-country sound is sure to resonate with fans across the genre. Her ability to both craft a meaningful lyric and deliver vocally is refreshing and intriguing. She is a true artist to look out for this year.
