Morgan Evans Releases “Young Again” & Debut EP

Morgan Evans

The fact is “We will never be this young again”, sang Morgan Evans in his new song “Young Again”. The Aussie-born singer hit the nail on the head with this song. The track is all about celebrating life and living in the moment, making “Young Again” the new anthem for being young, wild and free. Even though Evans has been playing this song at various shows it is the official release of this upbeat and incredibly fun song. “Young Again” is one of five songs that came off his self-titled EP that is available today.

In honor of the release of “Young Again” and his new EP, Evans made a surprise visit to where it all started 10 years ago, Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Broadway in downtown Nashville. He posted on Instagram about going back to this beloved place saying, “More and more when I experience big life and career moments, they remind me of all the little ones that happened before and made them possible.”

Evans then went on to explain that the day he flew into Nashville the first stop was Tootsies saying, “I remember that moment as one of the defining ones, thinking, ‘This is the greatest city on earth.’” He thought it would be fitting to go back to the Nashville bar where his journey began. In the spirit of the song and EP, Evans bought the patrons in the bar a round of shots to toast the release. Here’s to never being this young again!

Evans kicked off the summer with his headline 10 in 10 Tour, which sold out New York City’s Mercury Lounge back in June.  New Yorkers, can catch him live on August 23rd at BMHMC Amphitheater at Bald Hill in Long Island with Brett Eldredge and Stephanie Quayle.  This Fall, Evans will join Chris Young as a special guest on his Losing Sleep 2018 World Tour which stops in New York on December 7th at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum.

[Listen] Danielle Bradbery & Thomas Rhett Team Up for “Goodbye Summer”

Danielle Bradbery Goodbye Summer

Danielle Bradbery’s album I Don’t Believe We’ve Met was one of our favorites released last year.  The personal collection of songs showcased the songstress and her ability to reintroduce herself as a grown woman, in this industry and as a songwriter with meaningful thoughts to pour into her lyrics.  Just as the last full month of summer approaches, Bradbery released today “Goodbye Summer” an ode to a summer romance that ended too quickly.  On this new version of “Hello Summer” which is on her record, Bradbery features country superstar Thomas Rhett adding an undeniable depth as a duet.

“Thomas Rhett was one of the first mentors I had in Nashville and we’ve become really good friends over the years. He’s like a big brother to me, so to be able to record a song he wrote was incredibly special, I remember when I first heard the demo, I actually jammed to it with Thomas Rhett’s vocal on it as if it wasn’t even going to be mine,” Bradbery says in a recent press release.  “Now to have the opportunity to re-record the song with him – it’s a dream scenario.”

Check out the new song below and grab your copy of I Don’t Believe We’ve Met on iTunes here.

Luke Bryan Releases Steamy New Video for “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset”

Few things sum up summer like sunrises, sunburns, sunsets, and Luke Bryan. Year after year, the country superstar gives us songs that provide the quintessential soundtrack to our barbecues and beach parties, and 2018 is no exception. This week, Bryan released the music video for his latest single, “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset.”

The video tells the tale of a young couple who have found a sun-tanned kind of love, showing them swimming, boating, and sharing sun-burnt kisses. The video was directed by Michael Monaco and filmed at Sunset Marina on Dale Hollow Lake near Byrdstown, Tennessee. The marina provided a picturesque backdrop for Bryan and his ode to summer romance.

“‘Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset’ is, it’s a perfect song in my opinion,” said Bryan in a statement. “It’s reflective. It talks about love in a summer and summer love. It doesn’t get any better than summer love way back when. And then when you say ‘Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset, Repeat,’ that’s what you do in the summer. You wake up. You go get your tan on, and the sun goes down and you do it over and over.”

The sentimental summer song was written by country hitmakers Zach Crowell, Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill.

This past weekend, Luke became the first country artist to headline and sell out Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as part of his What Makes You Country Tour, tweeting, “Dodger Stadium changed my life tonight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here.”  He’ll continue the trend of sold-out show, shake it, stadium, repeat, hitting the road with upcoming tour stops in Denver, Indianapolis, St. Louis, San Antonio, and Chicago.  Click here to read about the What Makes You Country Tour stop at MetLife Stadium.

While Bryan may be reveling in the warmth of summer, he’ll be back under the bright lights of Hollywood alongside Ryan Seacrest, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie for the second season of ABC’s American Idol reboot.

Apple Music’s New “Country Wide” Playlist Highlights Developing Artists Around The World

Apple Music's "Country Wide" Playlist

Apple Music is celebrating the country music genre with the unveiling of it’s new “Country Wide” hub along with a new playlist of the same name. The playlist highlights emerging artists far beyond Nashville, coming from all over the globe like Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Australia and more. With a heavy focus on the developing artists in particular, the playlist is programmed by Apple Music editors around the world with the common goal of raising awareness and facilitating the global progression of country music.

Currently being featured on the “Country Wide” playlist is Canada’s Tenille Townes who we recently highlighted in our Swag Spotlight Series. “I believe music is a connector all around the world and when we really listen to each other’s stories we realize we are all more alike than we think,” Townes said. Likewise, Ireland’s Catherine McGrath, South Africa’s Roan Ash and Australia’s Missy Lancaster all use familiar songwriting styles to make the world feel a little smaller.

The “Country Wide” playlist also includes familiar established artists such as Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and will be updated regularly with new artists and music for fans to discover.

Visit Apple Music’s New Country Wide Hub Here and Check Out the Playlist below.

#TBT 5 Things We Know & Love About Eric Church

Eric Church is back with brand new music, let’s take a look back at five times we loved him for his artistry, his dedication to his fans, and his love for creating incredible music.

5. The First Number 1 –

It took Church three albums to finally have a number one single on the radio, but with his album Chief debuting at number one on both the Top Country Albums and the Billboard 200 charts, you knew this album was different.  Both “Drink In My Hand” and “Springsteen” hit the top spot on the charts and have gone on to be staples in his live shows.

4. That Time He Dropped A Surprise Album –

His latest album, Mr. Misunderstood, came as a complete surprise to fans back in 2015.  Members of his fan club, The Church Choir received a vinyl copy of the record on November 3rd, a day before it was available on digital outlets and in stores. With no promotion or advertisements surrounding the release, Church performed the title track during his performance on the CMA Awards the following evening, needless to say, the world was excited about Church’s surprise.

3. Why Not Me –

Just days after the country and the music industry were completely devastated by the mass shooting at Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Church unwillingly took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.  In the video below, he not only breaks down in tears describing those incredible fans that he had the pleasure of playing for just two nights before but also went on to state “Those were my people, those were my fans.” He dedicated his performance to Heather Melton, who’s husband Sonny was one of the victims, they were supposed to be at the show that night.  He goes on to explain that something broke in him that night and the only way he has ever fixed anything that was broken was through music, playing a song he had just written called “Why Not Me”.

2. Fans First –

As more and more fans started wanting tickets to his shows, Church and his team realized that ticket scalping was a real problem for dedicated fans who were trying to buy tickets as soon as they went on sale.  Church told The Associated Press he’s going to do everything he can do to stop what he calls a criminal organization that’s making millions.  “They buy thousands of tickets across the U.S., not just mine, and they end up making a fortune,” Church said in an interview. “They use fake credit cards, fake IDs. All of this is fraud.”  So in order to do his part, he canceled over 25 thousand tickets that he believed were purchased by scalpers to make money and rereleased them to his true fans.

1. Church In New York –

The last time Eric Church played in New York, our team knew we had to do something big.  His “Holdin’ My Own” Tour hit the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Friday, January 27th of 2017 and we decided to go all out.  We hosted a VIP Suite Experience for lucky winners and New York City country fans.  36 fans including our team got to experience the sold-out show from a private suite. The concert was one to remember, Church played 38 songs spanning over a three-hour set.

Guess Who’s Back? Carrie Underwood Releases “Cry Pretty”

This morning Carrie Underwood joined iHeartRadio to premiere her brand new single “Cry Pretty”.  The song was written by Underwood along with the songwriting team, the Love Junkies, Liz Rose, Hilary Lindsey and Lori McKenna, also responsible for Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”.  The ballad is heavy, but uplifting, proving that although you can fake smile and smile through a lie, crying is very real and it is hard to look beautiful when letting those emotions out.

Underwood has been out of the spotlight since taking a fall outside her Nashville home last fall, making her triumphant return with this epic anthem on Sunday night’s ACM Awards on CBS.  Be sure to be following @NYCountry Swag on Twitter as we LIVE Tweet the award show and let us know in the comments what you think about Underwood’s latest single.
