Carolyn Miller, Luke Denison & Stephanie Ryann Play The Cutting Room

Carolyn Miller

The Cutting Room is an incredible venue for live music, only made better when hosting some incredible women of country. Stephanie Ryann opened, with “You Don’t Know Me”, a grassroots grungy country song, with a bit of a modern sound. Her song “Good as Gone” has that deep country sound as well, with an intense beat to jam to. She played “Jolene”, a classic cover, but she sounded amazing and a perfect pick for the crowd and venue. She finished with her single that’s debuting soon, “It’s Only Love”, that’s got incredible vocals, and was really catchy. Luke Denison followed Ryann, playing a breakup song, “More of Me” and an awesome guitar cover of “Ramblin’ Man”.

Carolyn Miller took the stage in an iconic sequin blazer and shorts, dolled up to look like the star she is. Without a manager or label, she does all the work herself, which you can get from her fired up spirit. She’s so grateful to her fan base, who definitely came out to support, saying that without them, none of this would be possible. “Memories” was a lovely sound, and one of her slower tunes, that contrasted with the more heart-wrenching power-song, “Unbreakable”. She’s played everything from dive bars to singing the National Anthem at Barclays and gives the same love to her fans either way. “What You Can’t Have” followed, by songwriter Lance Carpenter, which was named one of the top 15 Best Songs at CMA Fest 2019. She played “American Honey”, a beautiful cover of a classic by Lady Antebellum, then a song she wrote as her vows to her husband in the two weeks leading up to their wedding. “Summer Time” was such a fun performance, with her dancing around as if it really wasn’t winter in New York City. This Long Island girl may have her home base here, but she’s got fans across the country that support her and her music.
