Ashley McBryde Entertains The Crowd at Gramercy Theatre
Ashley McBryde is the real deal. She proved it last night at The Gramercy Theatre in NYC to a packed house full of fans ready to spend their Wednesday singing along to hits like “A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega” and “American Scandal.”
Girl Goin’ Nowhere is Mcbryde’s first headlining tour but you would never know it because she is truly talented both in her storytelling and her vocals. The singer-songwriter opened the show with up with “Livin’ Next to Leroy” followed by upbeat” El Dorado,” before slowing things down and telling us a personal story about a memorable belonging of her father’s with “The Jacket.” McBryde has a classic country flare and a laid back wittiness that kept the crowd entertained all the way through.
Gracious as can be with a sense of humor to boot, she fed off of the audience’s energy and genuinely was having an amazing time with the crowd. “I know you can be anywhere tonight but you choose to be here at my show,” she said, showing her appreciation for the fans.
The crowd sang every lyric to hit songs “Tired of Being Happy,” and “A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega” which McBryde shared was actually inspired by a real bar and life events. She even had some fun covering Johnny Cash’s “I’ve Been Everywhere, Man” changing up some of the lyrics and adding her own hilarious touch. Closing out the night, there was an awesome singalong to “American Scandal” and McBryde and her band thanked the New York City country fans one last time.
McBryde is a girl going somewhere, that’s for sure and she has already made a lasting impact on country music. She continues her tour tonight at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ and into early 2019. Check out the rest of the tour dates here: http://www.ashleymcbryde.com/tour.
