“We’re all in this together and there’s always next year / I’m liking all this team effort
There ain’t no I in BEER”
Grab a drink and virtual cheers your buddies because Brad Paisley has just released an anthem for these quarantine times. “No I In Beer” is the perfect song to celebrate how the world has united against COVID-19 and how we can all appreciate the little victories and our essential frontline workers.
“We’re all in this together / to me it’s all so clear drinking oughta be a team effort / there is no I in beer”
Laced with epic guitar licks and Paisley’s cheeky delivery, the track written by Brad Paisley and Kelley Lovelace, will for sure be one of the bright spots of this time and a reminder that we all came through it stronger. “No I In Beer” will definitely be a staple in Paisley’s live shows and we look forward to hearing it and raising a beer with fellow concert-goers.
He closes the song by gratefully shouting out to the first responders, farmers, and nurses for all that they have done during this pandemic, offering to take a break and he’ll buy them a beer.
“No I In Beer” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

Who doesn’t look forward to a cold beer at the end of a long day or week? We might not be able to cheers with friends right now, but boy can we enjoy some new music from Jameson Rodgers featuring superstar Luke Combs.
Rodgers, one of our NYCS Swag Spotlights from back in February of 2018 and most recently one of our 2020 Artists to Watch, just dropped “Cold Beer Calling My Name” which features his buddy and labelmate Luke Combs. The song, written by Alysa Vanderheym, Brett Tyler, Hunter Phelps, and Jameson Rodgers, is a midtempo bop, perfect for waving your hands back and forth, even if you are just doing it in your living room for the time being.
Describing the typical long work week and the buzzy excitement you feel once you’ve accomplished that long Friday, “Cold Beer Calling My Name” is blue-collar magic. As the story unfolds, you can vividly follow each step that leads to the crack of a beer can.
“There’s a cold beer calling my name, feel a good time coming, got a new song humming / and the sunset’s doing its thing / feeling lucky as a 7, yea sometimes heaven is a pocket full of payday green / and my baby putting sugar on me / yeah it’s sure been a pretty damn good day and there’s a cold beer calling my name”
Combs starts the second verse before they join in together each of their vocals complimenting the other. The final chorus just begs for an audience to be singing it back to the singer and we can’t wait until Rodgers sings this one at Mercury Lounge on September 9th (the rescheduled date from last month’s Grew Up In the Country Tour). Put a little chill in your Tuesday as you look forward to brighter days ahead!

While we are all home and hopefully staying healthy, fans of Chris Lane can rejoice with some good news for a change! The platinum-selling singer released a new song today entitled “Hold You Tonight.” Somehow, Lane manages to combine romance and sensitivity with a killer beat in this bonafide hit.
The new jam is a mix of country music and soft EDM. In the same vein as Heartless by Diplo featuring Morgan Wallen, Lane partners with super-producer and artist Gryffin to create something that still feels new and fresh. The EDM inspired beats blend perfectly with the acoustic guitars and passionate vocals. The song is a love song at heart, but the production behind it makes it innovative. Fans will still be able to tell it’s a Chris Lane song, but new fans will definitely be jumping on board after just one listen.
“Get up out of my head / Get up out of my mind / So come and fall into my arms / And let me hold you tonight / You got my heart in your hands / And it just feels right / So come and fall into my arms / Let me hold you tonight”
Lane also dropped a behind-the-headlines video for the song, which features the personal relationship between the two artists, as well as, clips of life on the road and life in the studio. It is an intimate look into the singer’s life, which we’re sure will resonate with country music fans. Check it out below.

We don’t know about you, but New Music Fridays are one thing that has helped our mood during these strange times, and this week is no different. One of our NYCS Swag Spotlight Alum is back with new music! Alex Hall just released his first song of 2020, “Whiskey on the Table.”
Written by AJ Babcock, Pete Good, and Hall, “Whiskey on the Table” is a powerful song about a relationship ending. The way it is written and how the singer-songwriter delivers the lyrics, you feel as if you are going through the breakup in real-time.
Starting with a guitar solo, the Georgia native isn’t afraid to show his rocker side. He then goes into telling the story of someone willing to give up their records, a shirt, even their whole town to the person who broke their heart. Their only request is to keep the whiskey so they can deal with the heartbreak. We’ve all been there, haven’t we?
While we are all uncertain about the postponement of shows, Hall is scheduled to have a busy spring and summer. He is scheduled to tour the southeast in conjunction with Sofar Sounds and attend a few major festivals, including Shaky Boots, Trailblazer, Tailgate Fest, Hometown Rising, and C2C. Pending schedule changes, you can also catch him on tour with Brandy Clark.

“Nothin’ left of me, I’m just beer and bones, corner booth cliche, playing jukebox drinkin’ songs”
Last year when songwriter and artist baker grissom released his debut EP Saturdays and Sunday we were immediately hooked on his clever lyrics and polished delivery. Much like “You Are Who You Listen To” and “Right Bar Wrong Stool” which envelope the listener with brilliant songwriting, released today, “workin’ man” does the same.
When the title of a song gives one impression, yet the actual storyline is different than you expected, you know you’ve got a great one coming through your speakers. Written by grissom along with Ben Stennis and produced by Stennis and Jeremy Stover, “workin’ man” chronicles getting through a breakup and all of the measures you can try and take to dull the pain.
The official music video, premiering exclusively on NYCountry Swag today, showcases the singer-songwriter working on cars, sitting in a quiet bar, and performing the track, all while regretfully realizing that nothing is working to help with the heartache. Whether it’s time or someone new, getting lost in the same old routine doesn’t seem to be changing things. In the chorus he laments: ” I got them whiskey doubles shootin’ double shifts / Pullin’ overtime getting over this, raise ’em up, knock ’em back, line ’em up again, ah but it ain’t workin’ man…this neon ain’t nothin’ to lean on, but I’m doin’ the best I can, but it ain’t workin’ man”.
The talented newcomer is building his catalog of music, one brilliant song at a time and we look forward to continuing to champion his career. Check out our Swag Session from last fall below and be sure to follow baker grissom on Instagram and Facebook.
“workin’ man” Lyrics
Always clockin’ in, ain’t no clockin’ out
The days drag on, till the long nights come around
Hit me harder than the last one
And the last one was a bad one was a bad one
Man I’d love to quit, but it ain’t quittin’ time
She’s still hangin’ on to every thought up in my mind
I just can’t just can’t shake this heartache
This heartache no it don’t take no break
I got them whiskey doubles shootin’ double shifts
Pullin’ overtime, gettin’ over this
Raise ’em up, knock ’em back, line ’em up again
Ah but it ain’t workin’ man
Her memory holds on like a first truck summer
And them days of gold
That missin’ her bad kinda spell I’m under
It won’t let go
This neon ain’t nothin’ to lean on
But I’m doin’ the best I can
Aww but it ain’t workin’ man
Nothin’ left of me, I’m just beer and bones
Corner booth cliche, playin’ jukebox, drinkin’ songs
Quarter by quarter, and shot by shot
Tryin’ to get her gone with all I got
I got them whiskey doubles shootin’ double shifts
Pullin’ overtime, gettin’ over this
Raise ’em up, knock ’em back, line ’em up again
Ah but it ain’t workin’ man
Her memory holds on like a first truck summer
And them days of gold
That missin’ her bad kinda spell I’m under
It won’t let go
This neon ain’t nothin’ to lean on
But I’m doin’ the best I can
Aww but it ain’t workin’ man
I got them whiskey doubles shootin’ double shifts
And I ain’t slowin’ down till her memory quits
I got them whiskey doubles shootin’ double shifts
Pullin’ overtime, gettin’ over this
Neon ain’t nothin’ to lean on
But I’m doin’ the best I can
Aww but It ain’t workin’ man
Aww but It ain’t workin’ man

We’ve all been there, all of the people in your life are telling you to stay away from someone but you are blinded by love. In their brand new song, “Eyes Closed”, dropped today (3/27) new country duo, Lakeview is personifying those sentiments. Combining a unique blend of country, rock, and pop, the Pittsburgh natives are fresh on the scene.
The track chronicles a small-town love story gone awry and all of the missed signs that could have helped prevent heartbreak. Written by Lakeview bandmembers Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy along with Kevin Baird, “Eyes Closed” is the second offering from the new group, the first being “Poor Me”, which video has garnered over 170 thousand views. At NYCountry Swag, we pride ourselves on bringing you the freshest and newest voices in country music. Today, one of Big Machine Label Group’s newest signees, Dan Smalley released his debut EP entitled If I’m Being Honest. The singer has written songs for the likes of Ashley McBryde and Dillon Carmichael, but today fans get to see exactly what Smalley is made of as a solo artist.
The four-song EP is an impressive collection of songs that truly gives fans and country lovers some insight into Smalley’s voice and style. The new EP is a confessional record that focuses on story-telling and song-writing, two qualities we look for in any country record.
The record opens up with “Till Country Comes Back.” The lyrics are accompanied by both banjos and steel guitar, making the song feel both familiar and nostalgic. Smalley’s smooth vocals are easy to listen to as he sings about love.
According to the singer, the song is about, “a guy who’s willing to put his life on hold and wait for the love of his life.” Happily married, Smalley admits that he would “wait [his] whole life” for his wife.
“Lucky” is next up. The song begins with an impactful vocal and simple instrumentation. Written by the singer with talented songwriter, Brian Kolb, the rising artist sings about going through hardships, only to find his way back to his love. The happenstances can only be attributed to one thing, luck. It is a true confession in song form.
“I was some kind of crazy, wild out, and out of my mind /
Til you came and saved me from spinning off the end of the line /
I was livin’ like I didn’t have nothin’ to lose /
‘Cause I only knew what livin’ was like without you /
Now here you are lovin’ on me / Yeah, talk about lucky”
Continuing to bare his heart through song, the title track is the stand-out tune off the project. Smalley reveals his truth and his demons in this story-telling song, which he shares was written as a confession to his wife, his confidant. With an Eric Church feel and honesty that feels instantly country, the singer nails it with this song.
“Truth is I’m most of the time just shootin’ from the hip / So I tell folks I’ve moved on from the bones locked in why closet / Truth is it’s just easier to lie / If I’m being honest”
Rounding out the project is the song “Rich and Famous.” Smalley shows off his funky, country-rock side in the mid-tempo jam. Once again, the singer’s wife remains his muse for this song, as well as for the overall project.
Smalley’s debut project is a smash. He delivers a little bit of everything to country fans, while showing country lovers exactly who he is, which is a hard feat to accomplish through only four songs. The singer is the full package, and we are excited to continue championing his career, as he navigates the ever-evolving country music industry.
If I’m Being Honest is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music on our “New Country Music” playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

Teddy Robb, a NYCountry Swag 2019 Artist to Watch, dropped his latest track “Me on You” following his previous releases “Tell Me How”, “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” and his debut song, “Lead Me On”. In the midst of these funky, uncertain times right now, new music from the rising star is perhaps exactly what country music fans need.
Written by Ryan Beaver and Deric Ruttan, the singer-songwriter opens the track painting a picture of what looks like a bothered soul in a dark place causing some small-town speculation as to what could be going on. As the verse builds, listeners come to learn Robb is not speaking of a specific drug, but the power of love.
“This up all night // Ain’t a habit I’m tryin’ to kick // I may be high // but it ain’t like what they think // all this need a hit, can’t quit, lookin’ for the next fix //
fool I’ve turned into // That’s just me, girl // Me On You”
Back in October 2019, the Akron, Ohio native joined NYCountry Swag for a Country Brunch at IGC Hospitality’s The Boogie Room located inside the Mondrian Park Avenue Hotel. Singing some songs and stellar covers, Robb kept the New York country music fans entertained all afternoon long. Check out some clips from the awesome time below.
Additionally, Robb was featured in one of our NYCS Swag Sessions where he played his then single “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” and also premiered glimpses of a few other songs. Check it out in the video below.

Just days after being announced as Kane Brown’s flagship artist on his new record label, Restless Road not only debuted a brand new EP, but they also joined Brown on the launch of his Worldwide Beautiful Tour. As the tour kicked off, the trio took the stage during it’s opening night at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. Introducing themselves to Brown’s sold-out audience, the trio stunned the crowd with their impeccable vocals.
The new intriguing tune is a hit in the making, relying on outstanding vocals and a nostalgic feel to entice listeners. The beginning of the song starts with a familiar tune, both lyrically and sonically with “Take me home, take me home / To a place, I belong.” Of course, those lyrics are a modern take on John Denver’s iconic “Take Me Home Country Roads.” The group changes it up, singing about heading home to where a special girl is, rather than West Virginia.
Check it out in the video below from the Atlantic City show.
Brown lends his vocals to the second verse, adding some flavor and dimension to the already dazzling song. When we caught the live version over the weekend at the show, we couldn’t help but notice the chemistry the four talented men had on stage and the passion they all share for country music and their fans.
“Lights in my rearview almost gone / Thought I could make it / Man, was I wrong / Out on my own I Could only get so far / Then I realized I needed to be where you are”

Kane Brown
Saturday, February 29, 2020, Kane Brown kicked off the first night of his Worldwide Beautiful Tour with a sold-out show at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. During the country superstar’s high-energy set, Brown surprised fans by debuting some new music including this unreleased track, “Vodka Cranberry”.
Check it out in the video below.
The lyrics describe a night at the club and the couple in the song blame their wild night of dancing on the high number of vodka cranberries they consumed. Its sound is reminiscent of Thomas Rhett’s “Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time” as it is very funk-influenced and could get the crowd at a disco up on their feet. Its electro beat mixed with Brown southern vocals give it a unique sound.
In addition to “Vodka Cranberry”, Brown debuted a second unreleased track titled, “Be Like That”. Check it out here.
